We should get rid of the time changes, “spring forward” & “fall back,” that nonsense--because it keeps us off realizing seasons, that is being based in time, as Huberman said

We should also work on not getting triggered by such outside things so much. A thousand things in live influence my daily rythm way more than this one hour shift twice a year. You never traveled into another time zone in your life? If you did, you better stop, it's nonsense. As commenting youtube videos is 😅

I have found this whole interview totally absorbing and fascinating ! I’ve learnt so very much, put things up into practice and generally feel awed by the knowledge you have and are freely imparting to us. A little back K story. I’ve spent the past 35years more or less bedbound with a chronic illness. I lost my father last year, and that brought up grief which I was unprepared for. Along with an inheritance I wasn’t sure what to do with either. I had a weekend of mental instability. The only thing I could think of to change was my diet. I started in September 22. Fast forward to new and 9 months in the effects have been slow subtle but remarkable. My brain fog lifted and I began studying. The effects of chronic illness, physiology, stress, and lifestyle. I also began breathing the Wim hof way in July 2021. I gained a breath coach last October who has been a total godsend. The foundations were beginning to build. Fast forward to an health crisis in March, & a hospital stay of 2 days in April. On the 3rd of may I opened my front door and took my first steps outside at 5am in 35 years…. I did 50 steps away and 50 back to my front door. I slowly built on that everyday and am pleased to report I achieved, nearly 13, 000 steps last Sunday the 28th of may 2023. I’ve visited my first shop on my own in 35years and can honestly say I feel as if I am healing from the inside out!!!! The joy walking has brought me is immense. As I have grown, my confidence has sky rocketed. All leading to a feeling of sheer elation. So the down regulating of the nervous system is so key to my recovery. Thank you again for your wisdom, Dianex

I think for me, living alone and working from home, the stress is really happening to the other person, where I'm concerned, because I become a ball of energy happy chatter box with so much to share because I have only my dog to talk to, lol! Poor people on the other end of my eagerness to connect they really must have a time of it, haha!! Going to the grocery store and walking to the park I love saying hello to people and wishing them a good day. Some don't even hear me/notice me because they have their ear buds in or are very much in deep thought...

@@wallybingbang4350 great summary 👌 Are you using artificial light in the morning or heading outside? I think I may have to start with artificial light to begin this uncomfortable habit. Is it actually insomnia though if you're simply ready to sleep later and wake later? To me that seems like it's just a body clock that's misaligned to social norms. I recently listened to a Dr explain that some people DO have a different circadian rhythm and rather than fight with it and bounce out of bed despite actually having been ready to fall asleep several hour's later than other people, (so therefore should be getting up later to get sufficient sleep), that these individuals should, when possible, adjust their lifestyle and work hour's accordingly in order to allow them to exist in rhythm with their own natural body clock. I wish I could do this because it feels more natural than forcing myself to bed early and to rise early.

Circadian rhythm and morning light is also so powerful that it cured me of insomnia and low energy and seasonal affective. This wisdom needs to get out there! Keep it up Dr Chaterjee and Huberman. This makes a lot of sense; my husband is tired all day long and his doctor suggested that he takes the sleep apnea test which I didn't agree because he does manage to stay awake while he's at work and drive without falling asleep behind the wheel. I had told a good friend of mine years ago that I think he needed to see his doctor for sleep apnea because he was falling asleep behind the wheel while driving and falls asleep when he leans back while sitting on the couch and his doctor did confirm that he has sleep apnea. I figured something cause that disease; it's not something that just happen out of nowhere. Thank you for confirming that. Years back I made the choice to release/let go of my past and take a shift into the future. I trashed all of my limiting beliefs (old beliefs that I learned as a child and have taken into adulthood) and if you don't do that; it becomes a habit that turns into a personality and that developed personality into "auto pilot," I got into EFT self healing and have been practicing it for years and now I am learning manifesting and discovered that there is a way to become happy and control your mind, dump the past, control your subconscious, choose to let go of your ego, learn how to meditate, release negative thinking, attract positive thinking, loving your self, opening your heart, heart and brain cohesiveness. I can truly say, I am very happy since I made that choice to live happily by releasing a lot of things and becoming a new person.

I live in Alaska where the sun doesn't come up until around 11am near the solstice. I used to use outlet timer to turn the light on and off to wake up to.

Wow! Such a treasure of wisdom shared by absolutely knowledgeable yet so so humble humans. Have been a fan of Dr. Chatterjee since "The Doctor in the house". And Dr. Huberman for now almost a year. I feel such a joy by listening and looking at you both. It is not just the information( which by the way is monumental) but HOW it is delivered! Love your manner of delivery and am sending you both lots of love and best wishes!

@@Junaid_x01 "The doctor in the house" is a BBC's documentary on youtube. I like to read and listen to Dr. Andrew Weil. He has been talking about integrative health decades before the topic got acknowledged by some open minded health professionals. Another intelligent conversation is By Dr. Robert Lustig but don't expect Dr. Chatterjee's and Dr. Huberman's humility. But the content is absolute gold. Dr. Jason Fung and Dr. Robert Cywess are another two doctors who are giving people a chance to reclaim their metabolic health. Hope this helps!

Thank you as always, 1::30:51 when listening again I noticed the part about language describing feeling and Andrew saying he isn't sure if any language is enough to perceive inner landscape. May I suggest to keep thinking alongthe lines of art and music? I studied MSc in psychodynamic oriented art psychotherapy, art can help to bridge the unconscious with the conscious and wuden thr horizons
