The accent came about because many island workers would travel to Canada to work on farms thru a government program that started back in the 60’s. they still do to this day. Many workers stayed and continued living in these areas instead of going home. They had kids like me and here we are. So it’s not jafakin. It’s just how our fathers mothers grandmas and grandfathers talk
