I've been wondering this question for my whole life!

Once I saw my friend exit the classroom and walk down the hall. I looked at a poster on the school wall looked up and saw him exit the same classroom and proceed down the hall again. It was the weirdest sensation I have ever experienced. It felt like deja vu but more extreme-I almost felt disoriented. I was 10 at the time so maybe my senses were deceived or malfunctioned. Anyways, if anyone else experienced something like this let me know.

At some point in time simulations are most likely to be so advanced and complex that there could be simulations being created within simulations, kind of like those dreams you have when you wake up but you're still dreaming

What if we are in a simulation but this sort of simulation is simply a last resort to saving humanity. Maybe the original creators, the gods we see in religious beliefs, created a storage medium for human consciousness which could effectively replicate itself, hence the growing population. This storage medium could have been placed somewhere safe, waiting for some advanced alien civilisation to "save" us or to wait until we become advanced enough to figure it out.

As much as I understand the theories, I don't believe that we are simulations.

This video neglects one important point... what reason would a human architect living outside this world HAVE for terminating our existence once we create ancestor computing? Why would they not let this play out?

You explained how mathematically it is more likely to exist in one of the simulated realities than to live in a "real" world,however you didn't take it one step further by asking to yourself:What if the creators of this simulation also exist inside a simulation?Isn't it just as likely that the creators are ALSO mathematically more likely to exist inside a simulation of their own instead of the "real world" and if so,then how can we exist,considering the hypothesis you made towards the end of the video that a simulation within a simulation results in a crash.Therefore our own existence is testament to the fact that we DO NOT live inside a simulation OF A SIMULATION (infinite regress).The only way we live in a simulation is that if our creators exist in the "real world" something highly unlikely.
