A MONOTONE voice comes from a MONOTONE body. If you truly want to unlock more melody in your voice, then start by being more expressive by using more body language when you speak!

I'm monotone with my voice. Because I'm always bored with talking to people on superficial level. Also I don't express myself to strangers so easily.

@Fireflyepic
@Fireflyepic Год назад
When people watch other people gesticulate (wave hands when talking) they excite the inferior frontal and posterior temporal regions of the brain. Brocas area and wernickes areas reside in these regions, respectively. By observing people with strokes in these regions, we can deduce their roles. Brocas area allows for fluidity of speech - - people with damage here stammer. Wernickes area allows a person to speak with actual meaning. Damage here leads to very fluent but entirely meaningless talk (e.g. Torque the kitchen fridge to 10 radians). Thus, watching people gesticulate excites two brain regions associated with language understanding AND production (keep in mind that researchers showed people talking without sound, so just hands) . I hypothesize that the neurons exciting upon seeing gesticulation are mirror neurons: that is, they excite both when seeing someone do something or when doing something. Thus, by you yourself gesticulating, you are enhancing the functioning of your brain regions in charge of the fluency and meaning of your speech.

3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) melted butter 1 1/2 cups sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 large eggs 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup Hershey's cocoa 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. Line an 8-inch square metal pan with foil and grease only the bottom of the foil. In a large mixing bowl combine melted butter, sugar and vanilla with a wooden spoon until well blended. Add eggs and beat well with spoon until creamy. In a small bowl whisk together the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, beating gently until well mixed. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan. Bake 40 to 45 minutes or until brownies appear set and begin to pull away from the sides of the pan. Remove from the oven and cool the brownies completely in pan on wire rack. Cut brownies into desired size and shape. Your welcome

My issue is that I feel like I don't really have anything of value to offer, most of the time. Or at least what I do have to offer isn't really 'marketable'. For example, in my school age years, I spent a lot of time learning about various militaria, firearms, small unit tactics. Anything that went boom or bang, slash or bash, I was into it. I just thought it was cool/neat. (Still do.) I've been training in martial arts since 1990. But I couldn't talk about any of that in my public speaking classes at school. (not without a lot of trouble.) Or explain what I knew about tracking. Or gaming (been an avid gamer all my life.) Some of it, I could probably discuss now. But there are so many better-qualified experts out there. This story repeats over and over. So what could I possibly say that would be of value, of interest, of usefulness... that hasn't already been said. Sure, I know more than a rank beginner in many subects. But I'm rarely qualified enough to be an 'expert' in any field. (Except maybe a few narrow categories?)

Some people are tone deaf, making it very very difficult for them to not sound monotone. My girlfriend can't tell the difference between notes on a piano 5 semitones apart. As a result, she speaks in a monotone voice. She didn't realise there is "mmm" (yes) and "mmm" (no), because she can't hear the tonality, she thought it always meant yes

But why must one invest so much energy into getting a message through? To make a greater impact ? Why? So that they take you seriously? And if they don't, you feel like shit? Why should you feel that way? So once again what does investing so much energy to get a message across give you. Won't you run out of energy, grow weary and exhausted of communicating itself? Although energy is unlimited, as we keep exerting to release them that exertion will in turn change to exhaustion.
