From France to America to Hong Kong to Germany to Britain and the rest of world we all share this anthem for different reasons. But we can be united behind this message: When the beating of your heart echoes the beating of the drums, a life is about to start when tomorrow comes.
A long long time ago the republicans were the cool left wing party while the democrats were the conservative racists. It’s changed now but they just kept the name from back then
It’s better to yourself a libertarian instead because then people know you oppose authoritarian central governments and don’t think you’re associated with the GOP.
@@orgluzman561Peace_IL_PS Kinda, the ideals of the French Revolution failed Western Civilization. Unlike the American Revolution which was mostly about Gun Rights and Taxes and being governed by people who have little in common with without having a say in the government. The French Revolution was sparked due to the lack of Food and a nation that was in a debt spiral due to the Political Class being out of touch with the lower classes due to being more concerned about protecting the Nation's political prestige with things like winning wars. It was also a internal conflict that became global. While the American Revolution was always a global conflict due to the nature of geography.
Oh that is really smooth Edit: Okay new favorite video, ever. We got Huey Long and John Brown in the comments, we got Austria given its own place separate from Germany, and we have a 2nd French Republic flag. All of my favorite things here.
… Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword His truth is marching on … Glory, Glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His truth is marching on … I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps His day is marching on. … Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! His day is marching on … I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel "As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal" Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel Since God is marching on … Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Since God is marching on … He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on … Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Our God is marching on … In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free While God is marching on … Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! Glory, glory, hallelujah! While God is marching on
Socialism is fucking my country up and it did in the past too, and the republicans of my country are mostly socialists, that is why I cant openly say Id like a republic
I would have loved a part in spanish given that most spanish speaking countries are republics today with past proposals of a united nation composed of most former spanish colonies in america.
I don’t think of this song as political, but rather an anthem against slavery and man’s inhumanity to man. It might be because of how much finding out slavery is still a problem changed me, but this song is the most emotional song I’ve heard in my whole life.
Us Brits are already free. Stop trying to be napoleonic and forcing your idea of "freedom" on us. Our decisions are made BY elected officials, by the people for the people. The "aristocrats" you refer to, the house of Lords, have advisory powers at most.
I laugh at this, see I would get this if we were living in the 1800s, but from what I know the British royalty are basically just celebrities who in theory have some power and could have more but decide not to.
The spring of peoples, this magnificent frenzy leaving France towards the world. Long live the people of the world in an ideal of Liberty and democracy. 🇨🇵
Just so you know , republican doesn't mean "American conservative" republican means a person who is pro representative democracy . Representative democracy is when people's regions are represented by senators and governors , and those senators and governors approve or disapprove decisions of federal government . Basically a free country , but people elect special agents who represent their state/region .
the colonial flag is waved as a defiant stance against CCP authoritarianism because Hong Kongers knew the olden days people wouldn't have to censor themselves as much as today, and the song symbolizes the hope for egalitarianism in Hong Kong's governance to take hold
@@thesmithersy unfortunately yes and unfortunately the so called "people's republic" puts party loyalists over the law and quashes differing thought, a republic should be egalitarian in nature where freedom of thought and expression flourishes, not curtailed when it doesn't suit the party narrative. So the only "free & good times" Hong Kongers know was under the British Crown
@@apolakigamingandmore6376he was, but even if he ran for president I think it's doubtful he would have won, FDR although I like him basically made a huge bureaucracy in Washington and I personally think FDR had a huge ego
Here's a fun fact not many people know, but Alexander Hamilton one of the Federalist founding fathers basically wanted the president to be an elected monarch and some federalists wanted the president to be address as "his Excellency"
@@dehistoriapisciumfish7639 well my nation best leader by far wss our emperor Pedro II And our modern freedom of press is worse then back then And we had far more competent head of state Unlike our republic which was founded by a positivist slave owner elite
@@rustybayonette6641 ok English, thought you were Australian but I guess not, (yesI i know you guys share a monarchy, but I atleast thought you Australian nationalists had some dignity left)
This song comes from an Australian-directed-and-led film adaptation of a British stage adaptation of a French novel about an anti-Monarchist rebellion, sung in a dozen different languages across all Earth's continents. How is that American imperialism?
@@dad7468 maybe its that globalists seek to trample all uniqueness and variety on this green Earth under their ugly modernist, capitalist boot? Can you imagine the corruption that would exist under a global state? Probably not, cause the level of corruption would be rather unimaginable
@@charless4540hold on now, some people would disagree with Democratic Republicanism and would argue for a different type of Republic, for example the US is a often described as a presidential Republic/federal republic in the early part of the US government would probably barely meet the definition of "democratic" especially with presidents like John Adams
