Boom! Do you know how the traditional Chinese popcorn on the roadside is made? Small popcorn making machine allows you to #DIY at home, do you want to try it?
I have carried bags of homemade with me in a big purse or under my Shawl nobody ever asked to look in my bag before and I do not eat salt or sugar. I do either buy a diet soda or a water. my husband has diabetes and I have high blood pressure.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” God loved us so much that, he sent his only son Christ to die and rise again so that we can be forgiven of our sins. Christ is real, and he’s the only way to heaven. If you die without Christ, you will go to hell, as Christ is the only one who can save you from the hellfire. Before I knew Christ, I was stuck in my sins. I always had sinful thoughts, but when I came to him, he changed me, and if he can change me, then he can change you. Christ is knocking at the door of your heart, and if you let him in, he will feast with you, and you with him. Come to Christ before it’s too late, judgement is coming
@@bad71hd I make popcorn in a pot, with oil. A couple times I have either put too much or used too heavy of a lid and all it does is kind of crush the popcorn as it is popping. I'm wondering the same as you, because I don't think all those nice round kernels would come out of that small vessel. I was expecting more "damage." Still, I've never seen this before, so I guess it could go either way.
I have never seen popcorn made this way! This is the coolest way I have ever seen popcorn made! How would you even figure out how to make that set up? I will never forget this, and I will refer to it for the rest of my life.
You can search Chinese Popcorn Cannon on RU-vid, that is the normal size popcorn maker on roadside to make popcorn, 10 times popcorns can be made at one batch.
Basically, popcorn is made from kernels with the air and water created steam, allowing them to unfold into popcorn. If you place them in a metal tin like seen here, you don’t allow steam to be created due to there being no space in the small space. When you open the container in a bag, steam is allowed to be created due to an increase in volume so the kernels immediately pop into popcorn allowing for this device to work❤
Ehh, while I have no doubt that you're right, the gauge itself doesn't necessarily indicate that. I mean, is that really the sort of thing you want to be eyeballing?
this process does not actually pop the popcorn instead it puffs it, a certain amount of pressure is ideal to puff a specific grain you need the gauge to know when your there. This process also works very well to puff rice, the results wold be like a breakfast cereal
I looked up this product and it actually let's out air the pressure at a certain temperature or at least thats what it says. They cost about 99 buck for the one she has here but there is a little bit bigger one for 149. I'm interested but I don't know if it will taste like actual movie pop corn and that's what I want lol but it also somehow pops rice?? Which looks cool I wonder what that tastes like.
yeah I looked this video up because I saw a super cut of commercial sized ones exploding. the big ones are like a foot in diameter and have a very grenade like effect
@@j.calvert3361 it's not so much that it pops I just wasn't expecting that all that could fit in there and not get stuck. Now that I actually watch it tho you can see it all burst out lol the pressure of that much made it fire out. Looks like it might need oxygen and release of pressure valve to actually pop so it all goes at once that's crazy smart invention damn
@@maddielovelee it's not so much the presence or absence of oxygen. What actually makes the corn pop is water turning into steam inside of the kernel, with the hard shell holding in a little bit of pressure until a threshold is reached and the kernel pops. When under pressure in the vessel here, though, the water remains in a liquid state at a much higher temperature; but when the pressure is suddenly released and drops back down to ~1 atmosphere, the superheated water inside of the kernel flash-vaporizes, causing the kernels to violently pop and also slightly caramelizing the starches present. The result is a fluffier popcorn than typical popping as well as a more complex flavor profile. It's actually just reproducing the normal processes that happen inside of the dried kernel but to a much greater extent, and it's quite brilliant (and super cool to watch lol) 👍
OMG, this is my childhood! The guy did this on the street and I always asked my mom to bring some corns or rice from home, so I could have popcorn. This is exactly how he did it.
Why does it look different to popcorn in the west? Is it the way its made in that little kettle, or is it different type of corn? It looks much better.
Bring back so many memories....The excitement of waiting during the process... It's not just popcorn, it's the kids in the neighborhood line up on the street for the their batch to be done. Looking back, it's sweet and cute memories.
Mythbusters did a segment on this. Super cool. They used a huge kettle that was very violent and produced a bathtub of popcorn at a time. The pressure in the vessel keeps the kernels from popping even while heated. As soon as that lid pops so does all the popcorn! What kind of sorcery is this?!?! 😂 I was honestly blown away by that, I’ve never seen it done before. Yes I get the science behind it, but damn that was unexpected.
@@stephenhurd1489 Seems like the air pressure built up from being sealed and heated prevented the corn from popping since it was the same temperature inside and outside each kernel. The instant the seal was released and created a heat and pressure differential all the hot air now had someplace to diffuse to as fast as possible. Maybe not too dissimilar to how one can keep water under pressure to remain a liquid above the boiling temperature in heat exchangers, but will vaporize immediately and rush through any break in the system.
I’m thinking to myself “I’m going to need her to cook me 5 of those just to grab a proper handful” then when It blew out I was immediately shocked how much came out. I seen the amount of seeds she put in but didn’t expect them all to pop haha.
I wonder how far the popcorn would go if it had been launched into the air at a 45° angle? Also, did anyone notice that the popcorn is darker than regular American air popped popcorn is? I’m thinking that delaying the popping by pressure has the side effect of getting the popcorn hotter so that it self-caramelizes. Imagine breeding an ultra high-sugar popping corn for this purpose and a special pressure cooking electronic, automatic machine to make the most exquisite internally caramelized popcorn.
Watching this video made me realize that there are not many things that surprise me, until I saw this. How have I never seen this being done before?? Have I been living under a rock? 🤔
You can find even more remarkable videos with Big version of this devices for street vendors from China and India and it is like little explosion! Merry Christmas! :)
@Edoc No they're not hard at all and the black spot are just the leftover skin. I've eaten these plenty of times and they're even more fluffy than normal popcorn because they expand so uniformly
I'm here for the long term music w the faint Asian get to work girl the mother is telling someone .. it's just pure insanity and delightful inspiration w the ping ping humf humf music..
this is what I've been looking for.. this comment right here.. I've been saying that the FBI and secret service are about to be involved.. wow I'll never forget the visual comment every CSI I see from now on till I die
that's what I was thinking about and feel the FBI need to seriously look into this, it's what's been wrong w society since they started this operation w this music
Traditional Chinese people were ahead of us, a 1000 years back. They used pressure gauze to check for the pressure. Some devices even came with Bluetooth 5.0 and 8 gigs of RAM. Dang those Chinese. 😩
I think the method isn't 'stupid proof'. Many people could be injured by the explotion of the gadget, because you have to closely control the steam pressure inside the little chamber.
Awwwwww . . . As usual the 'Bittersweet' American commenters being JEALOUS AS HELL cause the Chinese came up with a fantastic idea AGES ago ! Just love to see them US'rs turn green 🤣😂🤣😂
I just had my 75th bday, and this is the first time I’ve seen anything like this… Amazing !!! The heat and pressure must be incredibly high, and when finally released, Corn pops all at once!!! Amazing!!!
It's absolutely amazing and sad how upset people get when you're simply being positive about something and showing love to it. Social media really got people being ignorant for no reason. And the fact that they don't get that when people make comments like yours they don't understand you're talking about from the time it was made is sad. Just goes to show how hard it is for simple minded people when they they try to be too smart for their own good.
@@steevehoyoufat9155 like the old saying goes, misery loves company! someone sees another being positive or happy about cool simpler things they have to say stupid crap to try and one up someone or just bring them down to their miserable level. it's sad like you said!!
Amazing.. Allahumma shali wa salim wa barikh ala Sayyidina Muhammadin wa'ala ali Sayyidina Muhammadin fil awwalin wal akhirin wa fil mala'il a'la ila Yaumiddin
In Argentina we call it 'tutuca' and it's made on a big scale. It was sold with added sugar in small bags and was the preferred school snack when I was growing up! 😛
I want that but I know I'll probably blow up my house if I actually have that so I'll just keep repeating this video until I find another satisfying one.
