I like how two of the reactors kept promising to secede. It made me think they had armies in each other's countries and the fate of the nations depending on their meme lore.
“They were still sending letters!”-Shade when talking bout the 90s, woo, I laughed out loud at that one! 🤣 Shade is always *so funny!* Like, her after, _not_ getting the nose for the first emoticon was _also_ hilarious! Definitely one of my favorites, just wish she was featured more! 🫶🏻
The REAL source of Killroy. Some historians point to James J. Kilroy, an inspector at the Fore River Shipyard in Braintree, MA, who supposedly wrote "Kilroy was here" on various parts of ships as they were being built (after the ships were completed, these inscriptions would have been inaccessible, hence "Kilroy"'s reputation for getting into impossible-to-reach locations). James Kilroy actually used the mark to keep dockworkers from claiming they had done work by reclaiming the same work. One the mark was applied that stopped and Kilroy went overseas for the soldiers to find and he became an icon representing the American presence.
I remember almost all of these and I've been doing pretty well. Except for the dancing baby meme. I wasn't thinking cg was advanced enough for that in the 90s. My guess was 2010s
It’s was originally made by a company just as a sort of demo for their product, which was an animation plug-in. It went viral and they made screen savers for pc using it. One of the original memes
I was literally singing the hamster dance song TODAY. I believe the phrase is "lives in my head rent-free" In case anyone didn't know, it was originally sung by the rooster minstrel in Disney's Robin Hood. I like to sing the original slow version. There was also a club music remix released in 2000 that did quite well in the charts.
I loved Mini Moni and Hello!Project long before the meme came out of the Dramatic PD. To this day it was my favorite fun meme fact because it was so fun seeing some small part of this group i loved be such a big thing.
Thank you for the reminder of i can haz cheezeburger! Wow, i haven't used that meme since 2011 but i used to love going over to lolcats... IIRC there was a feature where you could create a meme
I actually make memes and send them to my grandkids. My second oldest granddaughter said that she shares them with her friands and said nobody else has grandparents that make memes.
They probably film batches of videos at a time and then post them on a schedule, because most of the reactors are in school/work so they have to do batches otherwise some people won't be available to record.
19:43 This entire episode was recorded that long ago? I thought they recorded this like a month before its released date (today).😮 Also, RIP DOGE. You’re dearly missed. 😢🙌🐕🕊️🤍
2:41 I screwed up and actually lived this meme. Back in the days when there were malls, in my 20s, my ex wife and I were leaving j c penney with a friend couple and in walked not just the most beautiful Indian woman I've ever seen in my life but the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my life. Period. Almond eyes, long straight hair that was so black that it shone blue in the light, dressed in a sarong. I can still picture her, to this day, in my mind. She looked me in the eyes, smiled, and I was enthralled. That meme reenacts that exact moment. I rightfully caught all kinds of hell because of that. I couldn't help myself. Months later, we were hanging out with the same friends we were at the mall with and my ex brought it up. She finally admitted that she really didn't blame me. Her exact words were, I'm about as straight a woman as can possibly be and I fell in love too. It turns out that she wasn't upset at all but just played it that way. She got off diaper duty, dishes, cooking dinners, alot of laundry and a whole lot of housekeeping because I felt so guilty. My jaw dropped when she admitted that. My buddy and his wife have never laughed so hard. Even they admitted that the girl, whoever she was, was absolutely gorgeous. And it was at that moment that my ex told me that she peeked over her shoulder and the girl had turned around and was watching me walk away. My ex actually brought it up recently and she admitted, to this day, she's never seen a girl as beautiful is that one. Now don't get me wrong. My ex wife was beautiful but this girl? Never before or since have I ever seen a woman as beautiful as she was.
funniest part of the whole video: "...went on a 120 mile bike run" like.. what does a bike run even look like? is that when you carry the bike on your back and go for a run? are you running along side the bike while pushing it? what exactly is going on here?!
was that hamster dance song taken from a disney tune? i remember playing a disney song record at the babysitters when i was a kid (~late 70s) and i swear the tune was on there in a different form...
