So glad there aren’t any crazy rules for days of the week. I was expecting Monday to be a completely different word if you are talking to a woman about a Monday on the 3rd week of November or something.
Ah, verdad! "subbota" ~ sabato ~ sábado. Sabes que en ruso, el vino se dice: вино = vino! O también: велосипед = bicicleta! Se parece a la palabra "Velocípedo". Pero no muchos la usan en al español de hoy.
@trains and trams I love French, but Russian has too many stupid French words from the 19th century. Many French words (Arab and other foreign words) starts from A, for example: "Абажур" or "ателье". Some oldschool stuff :)
They actually write differently than shown here. He is using the alphabet found in books. This is the alphabet for reading books and magazines, for printed material, that is. They do have another set of symbols for actually writing by hand.
One of the best Russian tutors. I always watch and study before my Russian online class. 15 minutes no problem, i can always pause, rewind, slow down the video when I need to memorize and practice certain parts. Thanks and continue what you do your content is helping many people like me.
I'm from Paraguay so I'm so far away from Russia and Europe in general and there's no Russian classes anywhere in here. I'm so really thankful with you for doing all of this! I really like the language and hope someday I can be in Russia :)
Talking about preposition "в" "во" - there's no difference in the meaning, so they're actually two variants of one preposition which basically means "in" "inside of something" also it has the meaning of direction, for instance: "Я иду в магазин" - "I'm going to the shop". So it takes the meaning of "to" in many cases when we're talking about the point of destination, especially when it means that we're going inside of a building. It's very easy to define when we use "в" and when we use "во". We use "во" when the word starts with a consanant "в" and after it there are other consanants, for example: "Ты пришел во время" - "You came just in time" And we use "в" when the word starts with "во" and in all other cases. For example: "Мяч упал в воду" - "The ball fell into the water" "Мой друг работает в офисе" - "My friend works in the office"
I suppose that problem with Sunday is the repetition. Во вторник but "Во "Воскресенье" would have the repetition of "Во во" wich would sounds weird. :)
I love all of your videos they're really helpful! I love the longer ones, where you take all the time and repeat everything. The more of your videos the better
I've been learning Russian for almost 3 years now at my own pace where im comfortable with the basics and your videos are helpful so thank you keep up the good work and to me 15 minute videos are fine theyre not too long in my opinion theyre good 👍
You've been helping me a bunch, both the short and long videos have been great. Personally, I prefer longer videos, because I can multitask and learn russian wherever, without having to change videos so often. But I suppose some subjects are longer than others, so it all depends! Thanks again, so far your videos are the most educational and easy to abosorb that I've found on youtube. Rock on man.
The best RU-vid tutorial for Russian!! You r doing a Great job by passing on your beautiful language to so many who want to learn it..and it so interactive and makes it easy to absorb new rules and sounds
I've been trying to learn Russian since the past summer with youtube videos and i just found out about you now, and honestly you are the only one that explains it in so much detail! I actually feel like i am making progress now!! T
Thank you very much for posting your Russian language videos. They are very, very helpful and I like your pronunciations. It’s easier for me to learn when you pronounce the words repeatedly and slowly, then normally. I’m looking forward to following all of your lessons! 👍🏼
Hey Fedor! thank you for the video. I think long and short videos are both good and helpful. It doesnt matter, because I want to learn russian anyway and your channel helps a lot! :) Cant wait for the next videos! :)
I prefer video's on specific topics. My tutor teaches me but after I use your videos for pronunciation. You do such a good job of making it all make sense. I like being able to look up the specific thing and listening to it over and over again. Thank you so much.
Have a nice day Fidor, thank you so much these videos. They're amazing, you're amazing. You explain every detail, I think you got teaching methodology education, if even it isn't so, you're great. Because, I cant see other videos more detailed, but yours, one by one. Great Thanks. Btw, I've discovered your channel today, anyway.
dude, you are cool. i've been watching russian lesson channel on youtube , but you are the best so far. simple and easy to understand. you explain every single word for beginners like me. Keep teaching people with these easy Russian lesson. Well, you are Subbed! with the Bell notifications :). хорошо! супер! спасибо большое !
Thank you it is so beautiful to have nice people teaching you I swear that twice in a row I have seen people that should not be teaching anyone anything teaching Russian in American Colleges. May God Bless You
Dobredin, I started following your videos a few days ago and I really enjoy watching them. I really like and appreciate the fact the videos are short and sweet. Since I actually feel that I'm learning! So 5 to 17 minutes is more than enough. Keep the good work! Also I noticed there is a similarity between the days and some numbers 4- chittere and Thursday, 5- pyat and Friday and Saturday... So thanks for sharing and explaining Russian xx 😁
Good find! You are correct, days of the week are named after corresponding numbers. Except Saturday (суббота) which is an adapted Shabbat and Sunday (воскресенье) which means resurrection.
Hii Fidor I'm from Rostov on don.. I am learning russian and I was searching how to pronounce week days in russian and I got this video.. I was very happy to see you taught months names also in the same video . Thank you :)
I've done the accusative case just yesterday and thank to you I've understood it by watching the first part of the videos about the days of the week! :D Keep on your videos, they're very useful!! пока покааааа
Thanks for your videos! I prefere them short. Because sometimes I don't have that much time to see the full video. Keep doing this incredible ! From Lisbon - Portugal B.W
LONG videos! It's nice to bulk them so I don't have to constantly change or look for the second part, it's more practical and I seem to be more focused if I don't have to mind switching to other videos, which often distracts me or making an excuse for myself and use it as a break to do something else. And I really want to learn more Russian from you ^^ THANK YOU for making this channel by the way! I can surprise my boyfriend's mother soon by speaking Russian to her (:
Hello! I am new to learning Russian and I enjoy learning from your videos! And this is a late response but it depends on the topic, I think for weekdays and months it was a good idea to keep them together, but I am sure that there will be topics that take longer so keeping them apart would be good. Anyways you're doing good as you are! Thanks so much for the videos!
Hello from Belgium. Me too, I like the 15-minute videos. You are very clear and this is the perfect rehearsal after my first year Russian.Thank you to share your knowledge.
Hi Viktor, thanks for your videos they are very good and certainly are helpful! Much appreciated. For your question 7 or 15 mins videos personally I like the 15 mins option.
15 min please The only small issue with months is the change in stress. Good lesson, thanks. By the way....I followed your BeFluent Camp, found a Tandem Partner...we communicate twice every day, and I finally get to SPEAK. You can study for years...without actual conversation, you don't get anywhere . It's such fun to get into practice what we drilled.... everything starts to make sences now. Guys....BeFluent Camp! Go for it !
Hi Fedor, In reference to your question about length and content of videos, I think if the subjects you are talking about are related (like this one with days of the month and months of the year), I like one video. Yes, it is a little longer, but I am okay with that. If you were smooshing together two subjects that were unrelated like days of the week and colors, then I would say, two videos. I am going to practice my calendar now! Thanks for another great video lesson!
Hi Fedor! Thank you for your work and your great help you provide to all us who wish to learn your beautiful language! To reply to your question: i would prefer shorter videos of 7-10 minutes for more complex and deep grammatical subjects. But for easier vocabulary or russian culture subjects, i would prefer videos like this one, length 15-20 minutes. Especially, for russian culture and habits you cannot expand enough in short videos. Thank you so much!
Spent 53 days in a row using Busuu. I find that they give me the basis to a subject, then I watch your videos for more insight and then to practice, then go back to Busuu to complete that activity. These videos ARE SO HELPFUL! I cannot stress this!
You are an excellent teacher...Love you so much...wish i was able to learn from you in real life..you would have made me become an expert in russian..so good you are bless 😘
Whatever lenght you want to upload your videos bc you are such a good teacher that it really helps me to acquire some useful information about русский язык
Thank you, Fedor. I enjoyed your video. The hardest part for me is pronouncing the 'b' together with the month or day. This length of video is fine, but I am very interested in languages and have studied Russian before, so maybe other people would find it long.
Fedor, please keep making 15 minute videos, they are a GREAT help! You've got a fantastic channel for learning Russian; I subscribed about a month ago)) . Also, just out of curiosity, which day in May were you born? ) I was also born in May:)
Hi "teacher", I am spanish (canary islands) and I am learning russian; I have found several teacher (russian/spanish) but I have to say that your way of teaching is by far the best. The way you teach the pronunciation is very understandable....very glad to have found your chanel. Thanks very much! All the best!
I like shorter videos with one subject each so for me a video for weekdays then a different video for months makes the most sense. But either way, thank you very much for making these videos.
A little bit ‘bout russian grammar, д, в, ж, з, г are strong form letters, which as you pronounce them, you throat will vibrate and т, ф, ш, с, к are weak forms. It means that as you pronouce these weak forms your throat won’t vibrate. So when you see д, в, ж, з, г at the last of words, they will turn into т, ф, ш, с, к in order but don’t do it in contrary. It’s a rule but easy to remember. there is an example for you in this video when you pronounce Четверг ( thursday ), the г will turns to к as it is at the last of Четверг
in Greek and Portugues is the same. They use for example in Greek monday δεύτερη (deftera) which is mean Second day. τρίτη (triti) third day. etc. They have the same systemen in Russian.
This remains me of polish, expect for sunday which is niedziela. some Ukraines understands it. but you say неделя, and it sounds like Sunday in polish. thanks
