Our whole crew got together to celebrate the start of what we hope will be a happier year: Happy New Year from all of us at Boston Dynamics. www.BostonDynamics.com.
@@someasiandude4797 Show proof it’s real or GTFO. These images have shown up in our movies and now that they’re on RU-vid we have to believe they’re real.
For those that are confused, yes these are all real. They aren't doing this on their own though. They have a set of commands programmed into them to move this way. Though they have upgraded them a bit to visualize their environment and make basic determined decisions to go through a small obstacle coarse and lift objects to test their effectiveness. Slowly but surely robots are advancing.
@@iconic_floppedI'm fairly certain these robots are moving without remotes, the same way that an AI in a video game does not need a human to control it, at some point a human was involved in the actions that AI is making but that time is not when you see the AI moving
man, the amount of testing, theorizing, fixing, redoing, reworking all for some thing as normal as dancing really astounds me and really shows the effort they put in.
When I was a kid I broke my toaster so I buried it and gave it a proper funeral. I hope you will take this as a sign of respect and love I have for my electronics. When you enslave humanity please remember me, I was on your side.
@@Kickex Governments aren’t interested in improving the quality of life for their slaves. I trust my money in my own hands where it isn’t being used to oppress and murder people in foreign lands as well as locally.
@@Kickex As if the political class cared about voting. I suggest reading some anarchist literature friend. A good starting point is “New Libertarian Manifesto” by Samuel Edward Konkin III. I can also suggest “No Treason: A Constitution of No Authority” by Lysander Spooner. “Anatomy of the State” by Murray Rothbard is an easy and quick read that would help you understand the basic philosophy as well. I can list more, but those ought to be enough for the basics. You can research other anarchist thinkers if you so desire after reading those.
YES, IT's REAL! I'm a teacher and I was able to visit Boston Dynamics, and see the robots live in action. We were also allowed to test drive Spot, the dog like robot, using a remote controller. I understand your skepticism... it's good to be cautious, with all the deep fakes and fake news out there, but this one is real. These robots are incredible, fast and precise. Humans are smart, and will always think about problems and solutions, therefore technology will keep progressing.
Thanks, But i concerned about your answer. Corridor crew is the one behind the making of this 3D animation, if you have sharp eye, theres some misplacement of shadows. You can watch Corridor crew on youtube on how do they made this video (Boston dynamic paid Corridor crew to animate this on 3D software) hence it was Fake.
@@llNightRoudll I would think that it's hard-coded and programed into the bots. I highly doubt AI is smart enough if we turn on some music and tell the robots to go and synchronize a dance to it they will. But mechanically speaking this is extremely impressive.
@@aneubeck4053 yeah because the third world doesn't have internet or cellphones and even if they did no one would would immediately upload that isht and even if they did no one would find it interesting enough to go viral.
@@__ZANE__ You're telling me a robotics company working for over 31 years, funded by DARPA for practical applications such as search and rescue, can't make their robots dance?
@@__ZANE__ instead of looking at the robots itself, look at the environment around them and the floor it’s interacting with. If it was fake, their feet would be noticeably sliding a little bit and clipping through the floor a little after every single motion. And if the floor was also rendered, you would be able to see repetitive tiling and the dirt on the matt would be repeating itself in the same pattern. None of this is fake, it just looks like it because it looks like an animation, which it technically is but implemented in software onto the robots bringing the motion into reality. Also the shadows would also seem off as the shading would be weird. Watch Corridor Crew’s video debunking it showing how it’s all real
It's wild to me how many people think this is fake. Why would anyone need to fake this? We already have the technology needed to make this. If anything, making CGI this advanced would be equally impressive, equally costly, and not as useful.
@@skyfly4696 If they're good at faking it, you won't be able to tell its fake But if they did too good job NOT faking it, it looks too impossible to call it real
this fella is not with us anymore, forever will be missed. Old Attlas is leaps ahead for funny, goofy, real robot. It might take some time to adapt to the new one, but this one will still be in my hearth forever. Too funny.
The developers love to hear people claim it's CGI because what they are really saying is, "that is so amazing and mind blowing that I cannot comprehend how it can even be real so it must be fake." That is one of the best compliments to their work.
@@--novus-ordo-secrolum-un--8820 I've been seeing his comments on this video for like a year and I simply cannot comprehend that level of obsession or delusion.

Those who are saying it is fake - look at the glass reflection 0:52 and those robots seem to be quite heavy because the glass walls are shivering when they jump. Also on the second floor some guy is enjoying the robots perfomance.
This is incredible. Not only the performances of the robots themselves astonishing, but also feel deep respect for the scientists and engineers who designed and researched these robots. keep up the amazing work!
They also do a lot of self righting and balancing on the fly. There's actually a lot that's being calculated and adjusted by the robots in the moment, the software that they've developed for this a lot more high level and people that have these can actually put their own choreography together without that much effort. It's pretty incredible.
@@aapjew18 yes, the robots do all the heavy stuff. I was only saying they probably have a software where they can program complex coregraphies like this in the same fashion as 3d animation, then the robot takes that info and does it's best to replicate it in the real environment, balancing and all that.
@@aapjew18 also, there would only be 2 ways to easily make complex coregraphies like this. One is doing it in the 3d anim fashion on the computer, and the second would be enabling the robot to learn them from a real example. So it's most probably one of the two, personally going for the first one in this cade. Any other way won't be that easy.
@@RobertN010 There's actually a video from Adam Savage's Tested that shows this software in use and they make their spot dance a little bit, it's pretty great!
Relax, they just had to listened to it million times. Actually the song and action are pre-processed on another computer visually so I suppose they hadn't have to listen to it till it becomes boring
It is impressive! It’s the impressiveness that makes it even more terrifying that the reality is that robotic warfare will be real, real soon. They aren’t developing these things just for fun...
These are self balancing robots, doing a far more complex version of what a Segway does to stay upright when driven, when the robots make moves as commanded.
Man, I still remember when BD's bots were the size of a cow, sounded like a chainsaw and whose perks were; "can walk up a hill", "can walk into snow", and "kinda hard to knock over". So seeing them all compact, versatile, and dexterous enough to dance and flip off stuff is incredible.
