Facts upon facts dropped here Classy. The amount of time I have heard this, HDR10+ is the same as Dolby Vision, oh my Samsung tv is bright I don't need Dolby Vision , is beyound believe. It like people are trying to justify their purchases, so will make every excuse there is to make themselves feel better, knowing their set doesn't support Dolby Vision. People need to stop accepting the bear mininum and start asking questions so companies like Samsung will stop getting away with thinking Dolby Vision is not needed.

Way to go Classy. I really thought that Dolby Vision IQ would only adjust the brightness according to lighting conditions, but as you’ve shown, it’s also adjusting shadow detail. As you pointed out, this makes more sense in a bright environment, so using Dolby Vision IQ in daytime viewing can be useful.

I believe this year even Classy should be teaming up and siding with Team Sony, due to 120 HZ Dolby Vision Gaming and much higher peak Brightness. G3 just being a brighter G2 (from all the indicators I've gathered so far) will be a quite boring TV as it won't be able to reproduce QD Oled colors. Samsung S95C - the disappointing Rtings review that was just released, indicating that SDR Brightness is lower than S95B, PQ EOTF Tracking actually worse this year + some other minor downgrades and plus no improvements in Processing at all, means still shitty Low-bit content experience I was firmly set on trying to give Samsung a chance this year, but now my eyes are fully set on the - what looks to be a quite epic TV - Sony A95L.

@@ClassyTechCalibrations True but very little real content out there is pushing full screen luminance that high. On LG C2 with Dolby Vision on Series X, the brighter EOTF is really useful in almost all HDR games which have in game setting sliders. It just looks too dark on HGIG even in dark room. And DTM just blows the specular highlights. And this was all calibrated based on your settings. Much Appreciated, in many cases games with in game HDR sliders look near Real Life compared to HGIG. But the brighter EOTF case is apparently only true for games with in game HDR sliders and not for the Auto-HDR or Xbox HDR Settings utilising games.
