Anybody can refuse part B working or retired. I'm retired, and I'm going to cancel part B and take the $164 to buy food that I need. And winter heat, gas, the high cost of living

@barreloffun10 Well, if one has to go without winter food and heat, you will be suck and hurt. Having something to eat and keeping warm is slightly a higher priority than health insurance

RU-vid seems to keep deleting my reply. There may be help available for you. You should apply for Extra Help with Prescriptions with Social Security and also for the Medicare Savings Program with your state Medicaid agency. You could get a Medicare prescriptions drug plan with no premium and very low copays, get your Part B premium paid for you, and possibly get the cost sharing for Parts A & B paid for you. Now let’s see if RU-vid actually posts this…..

I am wondering if it would be better to put the Part B premium amount into a savings account instead of buying part B. What is the average a Senior spends a month on Clinic visits. I cannot fathom being in the Doctor's office every month.

Once you stop working and receiving health insurance from current work, you'll need 2 forms. Check out my video online about how to avoid the Medicare penalty and it explains everything.

Glad I stumbled onto your videos! I'm 64 and intend to work for another 6 years. I have a great medical plan with a major corporation. Will start collecting delayed SS at 70. So....take the Medicare Part A, but decline the Part B until I stop working (or apply a few months in advance). That's the message I got from your video, correct?

I was just asking a worker about if I ever got married again, he gets his part b pd thru Medicaid and so do I..but I wanted to know if Medicaid would stop helping if we got married..she said it would depend on our combined income..other word if our combined checks were to high, no Medicaid part b pd for u .but she wouldn't tell me the income limit

You will not be penalized if you are working & have grp insurance. When you stop working then you need part B, drug plan and medigap. No Advantage it may seem like a great plan until you need to use it.

@@MyGovExpert I am 63yrs old retired work for the school system 27 yrs and 9 months. I am still on my company's health care system. I called them and asked them about signing up for Medicare and they told me when I turn 65 I will automatically be put into a Medicare advantage plan. I thought I had a choice. I don't mind being on a advantage plan because I don't get sick at all. I just don't like being forced. I just want to thank you for your knowledge and honesty.

Short answer: YES! You could be in the hospital and still be billed as outpatient. If you don't have B you could be hit with tens of thousands in surprise bills.

If you are low income, Medicaid is available to cover your health care. Medicare Part B is nice for those who can afford the premium, but it doesn't provide much coverage.

I live overseas without plans to go back to the US anytime soon. I will be 64 in a month. They started charging me 174 for Medicare part B. I want to refuse part B. Will they reimburse me since i am not 65 yet? Is there a limit to the penalty of refusing part B? What if i need part B after 10 years?

I'm 63 years old. I've been receiving Social Security Disability benefits for 3 years now. Social Security Administration made me start taking Social Security benefits (They split the payments up into two payments, one for Disability and one from Social Security Administration). I'm confused about Medicare parts A and B. I'm recieving Medicaid Benefits from the State of Ohio

I am a 100% disabled veteran and just got notified a few days ago that I would have to pay $174 for my part B. Nothing in my income has changed and I am no longer able to work due to getting an injury when I did try to go back. I appealed the decision within 5 days and was wondering if I could opt out? Also how would it affect my Part A. TN is my state. Thank you
@MyGovExpert

If you want Part B, then there is a monthly premium. I think the veterans administration might make you sign up for Part B. But you'll have to check with them.

Plrase explain the penalty Q1. If i refuse part B at 65. And when I turn 66 then decide I want it. I would have to pay 10% penalty.. of what amount exactly ? $165x12 = $1980 10% = $198 I have to pay $198 Or $2178 (1980+198) ? Q2. And after I pay whichever amount I get to join from that point on at $165/month ?
@sustainablelife1st
@sustainablelife1st 8 месяцев назад
i was told: you pay the penalty amount going forward. 165*1.1 = 181.5/month. (not sure how the "per 12 month period you were eligible factors in).

@user-up6qp9fv9w Месяц назад
@@sustainablelife1stit is 10 percent for every year you did not sign up.
@alansach8437
@alansach8437 Месяц назад
The reason you pay a penalty going forward is because you didn't pay into the pool, you just got insurance when you needed it. If everyone did that the system would go broke in a hurry! That's how insurance works. Healthy people pay for the sick. If only sick people get insurance it cannot work!
@jacque4697

What about people who have a higher income and required to pay $590 per month? Seems that the system is unfair since it punishes people who worked hard and rewards those who didn’t.
@MyGovExpert
@MyGovExpert 13 дней назад
So people that make below $100,000 don't work hard?
@jacque4697
@jacque4697 13 дней назад
Some do some don’t. But people making higher income are giving up their time, effort, freedom to serve others. The Medicare system is communism like system. Communism which has been tried and failed. It only discourages people from working.

Is there any way I could get On my fiance insurance from her current work place If they allow it? We are not married. I simply can barely live off The money that they give me and I can't afforded to be even shorted more each month. I was told at first I wouldn't have to pay for this now. Hello. If I take Social Security before my Full Retirement Age of 67, am I required to sign up for Medicare Part B ? I'm a retired Federal employee and already have Health Insurance for life under the FEHB program. Say I start Social Security at 62.

You are not required. Post Office recently made that a requirement...but most agencies not yet. So I would contact OPM to double check. Some people enroll in Medicare, others don't.

If that other health insurance coverage is from your current work or your spouse's, then you don't have to enroll in Medicare. But if not, then you do. If you don't, you will be penalized for life! Give our Medicare team a call at: 855-313-3858 They will go over all your options and see if they can save you some money.

Can you explain why there is a penalty for not signing up for Medicare at age 65?
@MyGovExpert
@MyGovExpert 5 месяцев назад
It's an insurance program. So those that pay into the system and are not sick support those that are sick. Like car insurance.
@tonymanero5544
@tonymanero5544 4 месяца назад
Because people can scam the system by not paying for Part B, then when they get a diagnosis that they have cancer, and want $200,000 of care, they enroll in Part B for $175 month and get the benefits without a prior condition exclusion. Real insurance companies won’t cover you for prior conditions but Medicare does cover.

@@MyGovExpert I think I understand now how this works...we pay into the ( collective ) based on mass trepidation creating the premiums of fear and loathing so as the ( system ) is self ruling to justify Its very existence. Better known as the " Vicious cycle ". Got It ....I bow out. It is sickening to pay for others that are.
