You should talk about how he was the primary reason they were where they were almost every year. Dude set records, had 5 MVPs, 4 SB appearances, and 2 rings.... and his defenses still were the reason he lost many playoff games... Meanwhile, Brady had 4 years out of his entire career where he did not have a top 5-10 defense. Manning had maybe 3 years out of his 18 year career with a top 5-10 defense.

These convos are so tired because non of these analyst understand the difference between greater and better. Greater typically refers to quantity (trophies) or size ( accomplishments) whereas better refers to a quality or level of excellence. The Best - Rodgers, mahomes, & Marino The greatest - Mahomes, montana, & Brady Mahomes - only player in both categories. Credit to him Tom is the greatest because of team accomplishments but they intentionally ignore the fact that Tom Brady had 17 top 10 defenses, the greatest kicker ever in Adam Vinatieri, the greatest TE ever in rob gronkowski, the greatest coach ever ( arguably ) in bill bellichick, cheating scandals, and a 500 mil dollar wife which allowed him to oh so graciously take paycuts. Toms the GOAT but this rewriting of history is absolutely ridiculous. You can go down the line with ever qb they mentioned. Great or Elite players in Elite organizational situations. Aaron was an Elite player in a good organizational situation which is why he has only 1 SuperBowl. Players & situations 1) Bad, decent, good, great, & elite 2) Depending on the combination you get determines the level of organizational success 3) Elite players & Elite situations = dynasties

Toms one of the best and THE greatest so this isn’t any shot at him but they try and boil down a sport with a 52 man roster, 3 phases ( 33.3% credit for each phase generally speaking ), and an organizational situation ( coaching, gm, & owner ) to ONE person which is ridiculous. That’s why I brought up Tom’s elite situation. They also rarely ( credit to Acho ) bring up the fact that Aarons defenses over his career on average have given up 30+ points a game in the playoffs

Shady Saying Rodgers underachieved is laughable considering Shady's entire career accolades are based on regular season individual stats. he has a grand total of 200 rush yards and 1 TD in the post season plus his 2 rings where he logged not a single stat in those playoff runs. I don't remember the last year Rodgers played in GB, but before that he had 1 top 10 defense in his career. That year he won the SB. If you look at Tom Brady's entire career in in NE, he had the number 1 defense in the NFL over that period.
