I CANNOT believe this video. He even is calm with the teeth brushing!! What a sweet, good boy. His little housecoat at the end killed me!!! Beautiful kitty.
@@thedivinermissm just because a cat is calm during a bath doesn't mean they are on drugs. There are cats who do enjoy water and baths. shocker right. 🤦♀️
@@stephaniet1022 not necessarily true. Brushing their teeth can help a lot with tartar buildup if they'll allow you to do it. Sure you don't HAVE to, but it WILL help, especially with cats later in life needing professional cleanings due to tartar buildup. I worked at a veterinary clinic for four years, and there's definitely nothing wrong with brushing if they'll let you.
@@stephaniet1022vets clean cat and dogs teeth all the time, they even have a medical scale for how much an animals teeth needs brushing. 2 of my dogs were at a 1, meaning that since they just got them brushed at the vet they don't need it, but my chihuahua is at a 3 already meaning that her teeth need to be cleaned.
@@Selkie7nah its just been trained from a Kitten to be bathed, mine is the sweetest thing u could meet but she would claw the livin day light out of me if I bathed her
its hardwired into dna to dislike being wet; According to the text, the evidence of cat aversion to water in DNA is based on the following points: The ancestor of modern domestic cats lived in the dry climate of North Africa, which suggests that they may not have needed to adapt to living in wet environments. Cats have not changed much genetically from their ancestors, which means that they may have retained traits such as a dislike of water. Studies have shown that cats have a different response to certain compounds, such as calcium chloride and magnesium chloride, compared to humans. For example, while humans find these compounds to have a kokumi effect (a savory or umami taste), cats find them mildly aversive. These points suggest that cats' aversion to water may be an evolutionary trait that has been passed down from their ancestors, and that it may be influenced by their genetic makeup. @@PuppetMasterdaath144that's a straight up lie on your part. Not all animals like the water and some actually do like it. My cat likes a bath but one of my dogs despises it and hides whenever you say the word.

I didn't know this until 3 years ago when I moved back to the Northwest from New Mexico, but there are CBD treats for cats that apparently do give them a little buzz, and do calm them down in stressful situations, like sitting in front seat of moving truck for 3 days. Worked for my critter. Did Winston have some CBD treats for his Spa Treatment? Inquiring minds want to know.
@@DreamWeaver-z5ffor sure. Old cats can't really be taught new things especially things like this just because it's something like you said that you start add kittenhood before they really have a chance to fear it. Plus the treats and good behavior any 'reward' helps a lot. The toothpaste is like fish flavor lol. Usually. You can't use minty stuff. It's really just to get decay and whatnot off. It's a treat and a treatment at the same time.
@@3rdandlong I give one of my cats hemp for vet visits. He acts stoned. Just stares, eyes drooping like he's going to fall asleep. This cat is alert, engaged, responsive. Cats are wonderful and weird. In so many ways.
"Hi, this is Winston. Do you have an opening on Friday"? (Lady on phone). Yes, we have a opening Friday at 2:30. Does that work for you? (Winston) "Yes. I need a bath, and the full service Spa treatment".
@@mr.blackhawk142 I do indeed remember that commercial because I was in radio, and (occasionally TV) watched/listened to a lot of commercials. I remember the VW Bug animated TV ad of the thumb trying to crush it, and it got up and starting buzzing again lol. Wanted to work for a production company so I could put my talents to work. Didn't get hired. Hell I even remember the (Jeep?) commercial with kid in back seat trying to eat ice cream on a bumpy road. Now that was Hi-Stericial. I still have a vinyl album of Dick Clark (RIP) of bloopers in radio. Even met him at radio convention in L.A. in 78ish. And if you want to know my name, I'm Joe Isuzu, and I can save you money. 🤣
@@Mihi_Dana-z2x Why? They are the sweetest kitties. People are telling the truth when they call them gentle giants. I once had a Maine Coon and he was one of the best, most fun cats, ever.
@@valeriestevens5250Winston is a Maine Coon breed, as the captions suggest...and reaffirmed by the tufts at the tips of his ears. He was introduced to the warm water and attention towards grooming at a very early age, and being pampered throughout and afterwards is why he not only tolerates but purrs in contentment. Still it's unusual for many cats to actually exhibit enjoyment, with the sound of spraying water often triggering an instinct to flee. My own Turkish Van hated getting wet. Winston's definitely special!
What a beautiful little baby and so well behaved, even trying 2 help brush his teeth!!! Loved the pajama zip up and then off 2 bed with his brother, cuddling! Winston and his brother have a great life! And great parents!!!
I’Ve had cats all my life and have NEVER seen such a composed feline. He acts like he enjoys his entire beauty regime…. You’ve got a very cool customer there…
Start them young and they'll be like this. My tabby climbs into the shower with me regularly for a quick scrub and rinse, but he prefers a good towel and brush dry to the blower. This is a cat that is treated incredibly well by a calm pet parent. Love this video!
Years ago I had a cat that loved water! She would get into the bathtub with my 2 young sons and into their wading pool. She lived 19 years and I miss her!
WONDERFUL SPA DAY . KITTY LOVED IT !! You must have started this routine at a young age to have kitty so calm throughout all of the grooming and maintenance ,which also is very healthy for kitty.
Never ever have I known a kitty to enjoy spa day. Simply adorable. Definitely knows the routine. That purr sums it all up. Thank you for sharing. Thank you more for the pure unconditional love and care given to your precious fur, baby🙏😸💕
My ex fiance's cat would only let me bathe her lol He hated how chill she was with me when he'd end up like shredded cheese no matter how "gentle" he was 😂🤣
Without a doubt one of the best behave cats I've ever seen. Dont think i ever seen a cat so willingly and enjoyably take a bath and also get their nails clipped😂
I know she must have the cat on some good tranquilizers or something 😂 or she has the golden touch when it comes to grooming her cat 🐱 I d like her to groom me and my cat 😂
I have to wonder if your kitty learned from watching your dog getting put through its spa treatment and decided he might be missing out?🤔😊 No matter it was sweet to watch 💗
Beautiful!!! You must be a good person to have earned his trust like that. ❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing, this made me smile. Enjoy those adorable cuddles!❤
That is such a testimony to the huge trust building commitment on the human’s part to acclimate a pet to this routine. Such a great relationship has been built! ❤
There is absolutely NOTHING scary about your beautiful boy! He is SO precious, patient & poised & takes to bathing like no kitty I've ever seen. Such a good boy 🥰😸
I have a feeling that's sarcasm. To the people that say that. Because a big Main Coon can look scary to some people and I'm sure they've heard it more than once.
Oh I’ve never seen a cat actually wet and enjoying his pampering session, it’s amazing and very sweet, he knows you’re taking good care of him and feels very safe, that says a lot about you, lovely🥰
It's always wonderful to see a pet owner who just loves and respect their pet. Such a beautiful and sweet bond between you! I can see it in how calm and relaxed he is. Wonderful 💜
I felt this in my soul haha, from their first bath as kittens to their millionth as moody teenagers, my two cats scream bloody murder the minute they see me carry them toward the running water 😭🤣🤣
You shouldn't bathe them!! Cats don't like water at all and it's not necessary! Cats clean themselves with the tongue!! When they pee it means they are really really afraid! Stop it!
@@calimero600this cat doesn't seem to be affected by it and sometimes you need to bathe cats in special circumstances like flea baths or if they're hairless. also you never know why people have to bathe their animals.
@calimero600 some cats need to be bathed occasionally, especially if they have long hair or certain health issues. also, some cats do like water and even like swimming.
love, temperance, patience, practice, experience, pamps, most important of all respect and pride. I know how kitty work. ❤ this was likely his first ever actual shower after several attempts to build the trust of the closed door, water, physical contact, attention and domestic handling. if all my kitties got even half the love of that Persian, ooooh, what a trill. [ purrs ]
That cats eyes show he's in love and so grateful to mama. I compare the expressions of cared animals to sad animals and it's such a difference. Pray all animals are saved ❤🙂↕️❤
It's his breed, not every cat doesn't like water, I know some that likes to take a swim. Plus if they grew up a certain way accustom to water, they won't have a problem with it 😊
Oh my crap, that's one bougie kitty! That's the type of spoiled rotten you can appreciate, the fella prides him self on good hygiene and a comfy set of jamy's. That cuddle session at the end was just cuteness overload.
This had me in stitches! He seemed mostly interested in how much longer it might take! I love the "comfort front a giant dog" at the end. He's beautiful and deserves every good thing that comes his way. Thank you.
I'm absolutely amazed at how much Winston loved every single bit of this! I've had a dozen cats over 35 years and not one of them would have allowed any of this, including my current fur babies, they're all rescues so we couldn't start as babies.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Rescues.... Poor Cats! And who rescued them and gives them a good and happy life? YOU!!! THANK YOU for beeing such a good and caring ANGEL! The world needs more people like you! You may not have such a beauty- day- program 😉 BUT you save lifes ❤🙏👍👏🫶😺😻🕊 God bless you 🙏
Yes, he thoroughly enjoyed it. The secret is start them at a very young age... I wish I had start my kitty when she was a kitten. She only likes to be brushed. I bathed her once and she was mad at me for at least a week.
That cat has A LOT of trust for you. Can see the stress licking but still standing perfectly still (also gets to be scratched with a brush after so must feel like a reward)
@@myxk0369 Na they asked "what stress licking" as in, it wasn't happening (it was) whilst stating their own pet licks their chops (which is completely different). Just weird to say when the video clearly displays stress licking.
Wow what an amazing bond you have established with him …. he’s so compliant and trusting. Adorable pic of him with the dog, both in their pj’s. Watched it 3 times. 😊❤
This is the sweetest video ever. You must have trained him as a young kitten. I have a 3 month old kitten that loves to be in the shower with me. I should start now with these routines . Especially the brushing of the teeth. Thank you for sharing your video. You can tell how much you love your baby. 😊
I wish I COULD do this?! My doggie doesn't cooperate with me at bath time, and cutting her nails, out of the question. I hAve bought every product invented to make nail clipping scceptable to a pet. Seriously. I must have 8-12 things made for this purpose. Not one of which I have ever been able to get more than 3 clipped, and that only after darn near putting my Shi-Tzu in a choke hold, while she stretches, contorting her little body in ways that would likely paralyze a lesser being. You are obviously the 'cat whisperer'. Kudos.
He's not scared at all .... Too chilled about getting spa & services 😂.... The fact that his face became like 'talking tom ' while pouring water on him in the beginning is the cutest thing. ❤
Definitely guessing this has been a lifelong routine. That's some serious patience and surprising amount of enthusiasm from kitty! Love that big bushy tail ❤❤❤
