Hi. So, with a swing, not a squat, ur hinging. Therefore, I would be putting some load on the lower back with a swing, correct?

Hi, great question. Yes, with a hinge you are putting much more load on the back, that's why the conventional deadlift is such a great back exercise. It doesn't mean it's a bad thing to do as that's what we do to get stronger, we use resistance to increase the effort of the work our muscles need to do and then we get stronger if we do it right, and rest to recover. So, when I mention it, it's something to keep in mind with your programming and not as a bad thing. Makes sense?

@@Cavemantraining absolutely. Thanks so much for ur time n thorough response. I def need stronger squat. Been getting back into swings in the last 2 weeks. I did them years ago n felt amazing n strong. My back had been hurting n this vid helped. Also, I think it’s just bc I’m so weak n have been sitting for years n I’m 54 years young. Not excruciating pain, just pretty sore. Thanks for ur help, ur an excellent instructor n communicator. Btw, is there a kindle version of ur swing book? Was gonna purchase it but just paperback it seems. Thanks.
