I am a greyhound owner, and you can tell by the flexible spine and the gate when you see them run that these guys have greyhound blood. Good looking fellas.
My Rottweiler Zues was exactly the same i could not go into the other room without my shadow...I'm looking at getting a dog this spring and I'm leaning towards a Doberman an Airdale Terrier or another Rottweiler but the Doberman so far is winning my decision making.
thats any dog.....when you love them the way youre suppose to and they know you love them, thats how they are....i had a SCHNAUZER, BRAXTON WOULD COME IN THE BATHROOM WITH ME....if i closed the door before he came, hed be waiting outside the door. NOT JUST DOBERMANS, ANY BREED....
You can take the treat and give your dog the treat when he is fetch the ball and when he is coming for you give his the treat and repeat that everytime .
LUTHER JOHN MOLO No. I’ve worked with these dogs and that is a FAT NO!!! I have a Dutch Shepherd. Now THAT is a king breed. Everybody else be following the Malinois trend. Smh. The Malinois might as well be a dead breed. They have totally lost their drive and workability/health due to overbreeding.
My aunt had Bitzy, then Nacho. Dogs hated kids! Bit the GI Joe toy shark sitting on her lap! Knew better than to try to pet him...Nacho. So cute, but so mean! Thought Bitzy was traumatized since someone gave him to her. But she got Nacho as a pup when Bitzy died. Oh no! That cute dog was even meaner with no PTSD history!
Nice video dear. I have 3 Doberman. No one can dare to enter or walk around my house. Doberman is actually an amazing athletic dog and can be handled by an athletic person better to meet his expectations of regular physical activities for channelising his energy to control aggression.
0 Dignity M8 anyone can handle a tiger by giving food and giving training. I am talking about something else which you could never understand. Adopt this breed and experience it for atleast 25 years at my level to make this argument worth. Don’t let experts to laugh on your kidish and attention seeking comment here. Take care
We've got 7 dogs at home and 3 of them are dobermans and they are just lovely. Great family dog and good protectors. And they sure do like to run and play. :)
novo rossiya Don't know what the issue with the deep chest is, as for the Stamina my Dobie had excellent stamina obviously nothing compared to a belgian malinois, i think the real reason why they're not used anymore is the belgian malinois is just so much better for their type of work.
Karl Fredrick Louis Doberman not Only was a tax collector he was also in charge of the dog pound. That’s how he had the ability to utilize different dog breeds to make the perfect dog
I've Owned 5 Dobermans....it's the Perfect K9......Great Family Dog, Protection, Smart. Funny at Times....Weary of Strangers and Friendly to Friends....👍
@Jeremiah-Joshua Hudson I had American Dobbies. 1 Female Red solid 80lbs..She was very bossy. Then we Had 2 Fawn Males, both where 90 lbs excellent dog very friendly but very protective of our family. Then We Had 2 more black and tan females. They where so pretty and both really sweet and definitely more of a lover then a guard dog, but they looked scary. I'm a trail runner, so all the Dobbies where pretty "jacked up" from running trails and mountains with me....The female's matured around 2 yrs old and the males matured around 2.5-3yrs old ...4 of the Dobbies had there ears done like a guard cut smaller and 1 of the males had floppy ears...we had alot ear problems with the floppy ear. I am highly recommending getting there ears clipped..easier to clean and little to no maintenance...
I also thought that was real cool.. :) Zek did a great job on this documentary with my boys. Smokey was a great decoy as well.. The team did a great job.. Thanks for watching.
When ppl see Doberman Pinschers they get afraid. That's why it's so important to train them. Dogs were bred to work for humans. Yes they are a part of the family but they're in the family to work for the family, not just eat the food up. I love dobbies they're the only dogs that are allowed in my home. If a dog is not working, then what you buy it for? I love this video!😍😍😍
Had to put my Dobie Zeus down October on 18’. One of the hardest days of my life. He was there for me when I went thru struggles. Struggles to real to type. He was there for me when no one else could be. I would have done anything for that dog. Have a labradoodle now, also a great dog. But Zeus my dobie, was strong, handsome, and loyal. He was my angel, the day he died I figured he was going to save someone else’s life. Because they dog saved mine.
It has the intelligence of herding breed which would be the beacon, The protection drive of the Rottweiler, The speed and stamina of the Greyhound, And not backing down from a fight for the terrier blood and the size of the great Dane so if you combine those dogs that’s the ultimate breed at least in my opinion but like I said I never had a Doberman before
You do a lot of videos on the Doberman but you should look into doing videos on the German Pinscher. Not many people know about the German pinscher when, in fact, they’ve been around longer than the Doberman and they are referred to as the mid sized pinscher.
Matty23 wtf you talking about? I never said preferred. I said they are referred to as the mid sized pinscher. Don’t come at somebody with that corrective mentality if you can’t read.
german pinscher is beautiful bro. but a lot of people don't realize that Dobermans are technically a medium sized breed. but breeders have been breeding into the size more, for the protection/strength and the intimidation factor
I love people who also love doberman. Sleek, agile, full of energies, attach like velcros. I own a 4yo male european doberman, though untrained, It has all the traits you mentioned.
Dobermans are the best breed ever in my opinion. Brave, strong, fast (you will never out run a dob), intelligent, VELCRO dogs, silly, playful, easy to train, eager to please, etc...etc Our Dobermans have always been adult rescues. I'm currently snuggling with my 3 year old Red Dobe...Penny Lane. She is SUPER protective of me. She was shy/fearful and somewhat aggressive when we rescued her. She is now a confident, loving, happy, well trained dog. Penny Lane was 1 year old when we adopted her, she is by far THEE easiest dog I have ever trained!!
I was given a red Dobe that someone could not feed. When I took him he was very imaciated. He turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me, I loved him very much. Unfortunately he died of cancer a couple of years ago just before Christmas. Broke my heart. I want another one so bad.... Maybe someday.
I grew up with Dobies, they were all naturally extremely protective especially of us kids. Best dog in the world for a guard dog! It's natural to them, but at the same time very gentle and loving either family and smart as a whip! Dobermans are so underrated
Excellent video production and great interview. The guest, Smoke, really gave the viewer an insight into what Dobies are really about and their true capability. I never personally owned a Doberman, but our neighbor did when I was a kid. That dog was without a doubt the most impressive animal I've ever encountered in real life. Intelligent and fearless are the words that come to mind right now, so much so I haven't forgotten him. And I bet his owner didn't have half the knowledge this brother has and has access to, but he did train him to the best of his ability for those days. Love to see people at the top of the game with their dogs. Thanks for the video, thoroughly enjoyed it. -Marreta
pound for pound strongest dog in the world close battle with the pitbull. best guard dog easily arguably the smartest dog breed one of the fastest easily the most gorgeous (opinion of course but cmon look at it) overall the best dog
I have a Manchester Terrier (or in the U.S. they're called Standard Manchester Terrier) which was used to help form the Doberman. My Manchester Terrier is highly protective (only knee high), but the force of nature if you cross him.
Thank you for sharing, your Dobies are gorgeous. I’ve owned dobermans my whole life and I’m well into my 40s. They are the only breed I’d own. Until 3 years ago all my dobermans have been rescues, I’m really enjoy working with Doberman rescues and helping displaced dobermans, so all my Dobies has been American. Then we lost our Dakota to an osteosarcoma , of course it was devastating and our other Dobie Indiana was depressed, though I could never replace a Doberman who passed I always have two, I find having 2 is good for the dogs and I just love the breed so much I wish I could have 100 😊 anyway there were no rescues at the time so I went to a breeder for the first time, i had been researching for weeks when Dakota got sick knowing no matter how hard the vets and I tried he only had a few months. So I found a good breeder thru my rescue group actually got to meet some of the breeders Dobies who lived out here in Colorado near me and temperament and health of his dogs were great. They are a long line of show on the moms side and protection on dad’s & the parents are European from Belarus. I write this just to say wow now that I have a European I see the difference from American. Atlas (the European) is very work driven , he has to work. He is trained as all my dogs are because they go every where with me, including the up coming St Patrick’s day parade where we march with our dobermans to spread the word about the breed and about Doberman rescue. So my dogs do have to be very social and be able to listen on command. But working with Atlas and now that he is 3 and really grown into his personality and is coming out of the teenage years, I find all Dobies go thru , it’s like a switch is flipped at 2 1/2 -3 and they grow up 😜. His main trait I find is just how protective he is, now I know every Doberman I’ve owned would protect, its part of who they are, they would lay down their lives. But Atlas is beyond anything I’ve seen, he knows instinctually to stand between me and a threat, he “patrols” his yard before he will pee. I won’t bore you with all the details but it’s amazing to see the instinct in the European and he is larger then the Americans I’ve owned and all muscles. He’s my “red head” ❤️. But now that I have a European and worked with him and seen just how smart he is, I’m torn, I love my rescue work and rescuing a Doberman who needs me but we are looking at getting another this summer, Indie our black rescue is getting up there, and I need a service dog due to a medical condition that will just get worse, so I need a strong Dobie who can help me up when I fall and can help do small tasks, so I’m struggling whether I train a rescue or get another breeder. Plus my husband wants the service dog to go thru basic protection training, not for shows or competing but to protect me on command, as I said Atlas would protect but he is not trained to release on command or give a warning and I physically could not run after him if I had to. We did have one of ours protection trained many years ago before we had kids and he was the best so smart (RIP Parker). Anyway thank you for sharing your beautiful dogs and watching them is helping me decide what I want in my next Doberman. May I ask who was the breeder and/ or are you breeding your male?i figure I need to start researching breeders again. I love Atlas and his line and the breeder was great but I want to explore my options because this next Dobie will be more than a family companion , he will be a beloved family member as they all are but also a service dog and protector . Have a great day.
I’ve owned Dobermans all my life. The one thing they have that I can say no other breed I’ve owned has, is their amazing intuitive bond with their person. I’ve never had a dog more in tune with my emotions and state than a Doberman. The surroundings can change but the Dobermans protective nature and bond with their owner won’t. I love them, they’re my favorite breed. ❤
dogs aren't natural in the first place and because it was bread and the first generation of Dobermans have their ears cut so I would argue that it's the closest thing to Natural you're going to get not to mention they get more ear infections when the ears are kept floppy cuz there's no air flow
I would just say look at the coyotes and wolves and all other wild dogs and animals, all of them have erect ears. The dobermans may not be bred with erect ears but nature says it is better for them. Also, don't worry, they dont feel a thing when they get cropped, it's always under anesthesia.
@@raffertyclark1972 if you keep the dogs ears clean anyway it's perfectly fine to keep them natural. It's much better for the dog, as it prevents weeks of pain, stress and irritation for the animal.
u are so right when u said' if u want a house companion u would have got a lap dog'. I have a shih tzu and i got him for the purpose of being a companion, that is what they are dread for. People really need to get a dog based on their needs, providing and respecting the needs of the dog. that is done by educating your self on dog breeds. I like border collies for example but i can not provide them what they need so i am not gonna get one.
This guy makes a lot of sense and knows the breed (Dobie's) quite well. As of 11/21/18, I have a 5 month old Dobie girl. Abby, is my 7th Doberman. Dobie's are extremely confident and have quite a bit of drive and intelligence in them. Most are extremely smart which is a paradox for the owner. Sure the dog is smart and can do some incredible things. But at the same time it can get the dog into trouble for being too curious. My Abby just finished up basic obedience training and now working with her to protect the family and her turf which is a few hundred acres of land. Roughly 8 acres is cleared out and flat the rest of the land is trails and some natural openings. Every thing we do is a teaching moment for her. She is well socialized with dogs, other animals, as well as people. BUt she is learning when something is a potential threat per se. What I love about the Doberman's is they are a people dog. They want to be around their humans. My dog can go outside or come in when she wants. However, when I lock up for night, she is inside...on the bed between my wife and me. She wants to please and wants to PLAY a lot. Her baby teeth care beginning to come out. And on Monday she is going to the Vet to be spayed. Just an excellent breed to have. I love ALL dogs, but will always have a Dobie in my household as a family member.
I like your video. Only have experience in Labrador training, but have always wanted a Doberman. Now I have a 11 week old Dobie named Samson! Eyes on me I started basic training but I will stick with it.He will be an awesome dog. I can feel it. Thank you for your video.
I cannot over-emphasize cost. Do not look for discounts and deal ONLY with a reputable breeder. You will get the animal you pay for. Don't get in a hurry, and do your research.
Damn dude, thank you for you knowledge and insight! I'm trying to choose between a Rott and Dobbie as my constant companion and family member. I will constantly refer to this vid to remember and learn from your experienced. Thank you!
My buddy had a doberman that was just a regular old family dog and it was almost shocking how friendly and well behaved the dog was. Im not into dogs for personsal protection so i never considered a Doberman but Rusty showed me a whole other side of the breed really great dog.
Great video! When searching for a breeder look for a breeder which produced a working line dog. A lot of people go to back yard breeder expecting all dogs are equal and they are not. Having a good trainer & breeder is very important to having a good Doberman. Possibly only about 6 breeders I would buy a Doberman form in the USA! Trust and body of work are the most important to having success! Remember in America people are all about money and they are only about 40 IPO 3 Dobermans in the USA. Testing temperament & health of breeding stock is very important for a breeders success! LJ Kye Dobermans
Thank you for a great vid. I love the breed I have now a Lagotto at he moment - an Italian working dog. Really sweet and hungry for work very active. I hade temporally two doberman brothers during a couple of years and just fell in love with the breed I had never encounter the commitment for protection and dedication to please and love for the master. Now I heard that the best breeds at the moment are in the NO-EU zone as, Serbia, Ucraine, Russia etc. in the east block. I do not want to buy a dog in the EU zone. The regulations are not in favor of the breed and serious owners, love to get some feedback on kennels in the east European zone. Thanks again!
I had my bike stolen from my garage 6 years ago.now after having one dobberman I can park my bike safely.its been 4 years.. No matter how much you make them run ,they just don't seem to get tired! Listen to every command! Loves attention!
It’s funny how he chose a Doberman for its health, I chose not to get a Doberman because how bad it’s health generally is. I got a Beauceron instead, which is also a foundation breed for the Doberman
Like a lot your comments, honesty and clear explanation. You do not try to convince anyone about doberman is the "best" dog in the world. All of them are great dogs, and it is like the humans, different characters, courage and intelligence even in the same breed of dogs. Thanks.
you are so correct. I walk and jog my doberman late at night , due to the stupidity of my city. Pleasant Grove, Al. They decided my doberman (akc fedor del nasi, altobello, pride of russi, BETELGES, kimbertal, AND so many i cant spell. The cropped ears on my doberman, let me know what he knows , I dont know. Now, My St.Roch ( patron saint of dogs) is not scared, we visit the nursing home smokers in the evening during our walk/ jog. He lets them pet him. we bring treats now so they can give them to Roch. I talked to the nurses, and I bring sugar free hard candy. St. Roch is our local real doberman. But, he is not scared. We were walking past the 2 nursing homes, it was around 10 p.m. ( my city said I had to muzzle him , because he is viscous, but the government says my doberman is best for wounded veterans) Well all the afternoon and evening cops ( small city) they told me , dont muzzle St.Roch. So , I dont. But I saw his ears move, cropped, one night. he wanted to eliminate the threat, not scared, but can turn a corner and kiss the old folks. I started walking in the direction he was interested. I thought oh its one of the many wild cats. Then about yards from the direction we were going, I saw the glow of a cigarette. Now, I just said to Roch, no we are not chasing wild cats. He is to protect me, alert me, I am not looking for a fight, much less get my Roch hurt. So I played like I did not see and say. hey it is time for your monthly plain cheeseburger from JACKS. They are used to us doberman through the drive through. But you bet in the drive through I was texting local cops, and county. That is how it rolls in Dixie. And we are sipping sweet tea with our multiple color friends, and just laughing at the rest of the world. you know it is getting harder and harder for the reporters to find that special sotherner you all like to group us in after a storm. Darling, we all try to help her, the rest of us in all colors are in our undergroud bunkers with all the conviences, then we stay in longer to watch the networks come find the few that just wont take help. Bless your hear
The only thing worse than NOT having the ears cropped on a doberman is having a bad ear crop done, so ask the vet for references, and tails should not exceed three inches either. The last two dobes I owned had to have their tails shortened, or touched up, when I had their ears cropped.
no second option for personal guard dog it's the Doberman. they are so natural and got great instinct to protect you. my No.1 dog is Doberman 2nd. Cocker Spaniel 3. German Shepherd and Italian Greyhound.
This was great, I got 2 adult german Shepherds one is a Czechoslovakia import the other is Czechoslovakia/ American show lines. Both have amazing stable temperaments and have good prey drive. So I am looking into a protection dog trainer.
