My sister in the 70s I was so proud to see her do Northants soul she just flew across that dance floor it was so great bev my sis is 65 this year well done bev so proud of you xxx
Is this your sister dancing? If so, she was amazing! I'm recovering from a brain tumour op & my daughter took me to a Northern Soul night here in Perth Western Australia last night. I sat watching the dancing & listening to the great sounds, there was even young people dancing, I planned on leaving at 8pm, it started at 6pm & I stayed till 11.30pm, I talked to 3 lads who lived about 10 min drive from me in England, it did me the world of good, they say music is food for the soul. My daughter said "mom, if this was my last day on this earth then I left feeling really happy" as we continued singing together driving home.
My mum is/was a big northern soul fan and has told me so many brilliant stories about her travelling down to Wigan and going to "all nighters". I swear my mum and her friends had way much more fun than my generation!

Sorry to be so off topic but does anyone know of a method to log back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!

Dobie Gray had such a beautiful Crystal clear voice, he should’ve enjoyed much greater success than he got. His ‘In Crowd’ hit was a phenomenal international hit, he deserved many more.
I used to be scared to get up and dance when I was in the forces. A mate called Mike from Wigan showed me this and there was no looking back. Sadly the Casino is gone and so has my old mate Mike a few years ago - thanks Mike - enjoy the great dance floor in the sky mate! KEEP THE FAITH - NORTHERN SOUL - FOREVER
This reminds me of Wigan and shouting at my mate to wake up at 3 am to dance. 1978 me and Di and the crew from West Yorkshire. Wigan gave me hope and made me, That should be an advertisement for all young people in the forces. Those days were electric.

Was At cannington agricultural college in Bridgewater Somerset. Bout as far away from the scene as you could get. Then in early 78 a lad from around possibly Wigan or Bolton ( sorry it was a long time back.) Came for a two week course in I believe dairy technology hygiene. Cant remember his name poss mark, or colin. He introduced me to this great music. I would love to meet him again. Sadly pre mobile phone days no net either, so easy to lose touch. But I thank you from my heart buddy. I did indeed keep the faith from that day till this.. godless ya. Although at 60 now the knees have sadly gone.. lol.🤣🤣🤣🤣
probably the best northern track and one of the first I danced to back in 73 ''age 15 ish great memories'' time machine anyone? ktf soulgray of westbromwich england'''
didn't get much air play at Wigan, it was one of those "crossover" tunes and sailed a bit too close to being commercial. Great tune though and still sounds good.
LONG LIVE NS! I used to DJ back in the day this song ALWAYS packed the floor, I would just leave the decks and get out on the floor and DANCE!!!!! I remember we used to have a contest who could buy the widest bags!! I used to have a pair of bags 20 in at the bottom superb for backdrops and spins!! KEEP THE FAITH!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic music and one of those I put on down the pub, along with I'm one of my way by Dean Parrish. Happy days from the innocent. 70's . Why is life so confrontational and difficult today?
I wish I had been into Northern Soul when I was younger, the dancing is fabulous, I try it now but look like a proper muppets lol! My other half Steve was into all this and at 64 he shows me some moves, love it !
