Your videos helped make up my mind on the MRR suspension. I ordered my kit from Exit Off-Road. I chose the 111R leaf springs and went with the heavy C59-352 coils. It does ride pretty firm but I have a plate bumper and a winch to install so it should even out. If not I can always order the next lower spring rate. Also, I had it installed at Eastside Speed Shop. Brian and his crew are great. Thanks for your review.

Nice I’m glad I could help! I actually have a set of the same springs coming for the same reason. Love this kit and how versatile it is
@kevinrug

I have the same springs. With a steel front bumper/winch, full skid plates, and rock sliders they sit at about 2 inches above stock in the front. Rear is also about 2 inches above stock so I kept the OEM stance since I tow a small trailer a lot. I keep the settings towards the recommended soft settings and it rides fine.

These are fantastic. Been running these on my 200 series for 20 months now. I can dial them up for heavy loads and soften them up for corrigated tracks. Highly recommended 👌

Yes I 100% agree! Love how adaptable these are to any situation I throw at them! Wouldn’t do anything different if I did it all over again

Getting Dobinsons MRR with long travel rear shocks installed on my 4runner in 2 weeks. I can't wait. Already have SPC UCA's installed to clear 285's with no BMC. Nice review 👍

I'm not too familiar with the trim levels, but those Wildpeak/Sasquatch Broncos are absolute BEASTS off the lot. If they had solid front axles I would have chose the Bronco over the 4runner! (NOT EVER owning a Jeep again lol) The Bronco with Dob MRR will be able to do things I cannot, and the 4runner with Dob MRR will be able to do things the Bronco cannot. (Mainly tight/narrow trail navigation) I LOVE the Bronco's, just chose the dinosaur 4runner because of the bulletproof old school engine that lasts forever and the manual 4WD gearbox. Post some pics of that Bronco with Dob MRR when you get it!!! Gonna be KILLER!

Thanks for the video mate that’s what I’m going for for my Nissan Navarra NP 300 in Australia 2 inch lift kit Getting the full 150 to 550, constant white springs for the rear and the medium to heavy for the front for a winch and arb bullbar

Great detail in the review, 5100 vs MRR was exactly what I was wondering about. Obviously different classes of suspension but that's the choice I was trying to make.

Glad I could help! Yeah, completely different kits and each have their purpose. However, I’ve moved on from the Tacoma and I promise you when I get a suspension kit for the new rig it’ll be dobinsons

Know this video is from a while ago but tho I would comment: I also had issues with the Dobinson UCA on my 4Runner. End up also not getting my alignment back in the green after a 2.5 inch lift. It also kept binging on my FOX 2.5 shocks. End up replacing it with Icon’s tubular UCA. Which has worked wonderfully since
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND 3 месяца назад
Yeah I had issues with the tubular ones. I'm going to get the MRR for my new rig, but I am going to run the billet arms this time because they offer way more adjustable.

Glad to see you routed the reservoirs as recommended. Other recent videos by others show them mounting the brackets reversed and doing the routing in the most asinine way possible...then complaining they don't like the routing or the provided brackets. Some people just shouldn't work on cars.

Hey man, great video! Sealed the deal and this is the lift I’m buying for my new Tacoma. Quick question. Is the lift you bought the 3” and if so, what size tires are you running? Thanks!
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND 9 месяцев назад
You will not be disappointed! Yes, I got the 3” lift and was running 275/70 r17. Which is like a 32.4” if I remember correctly. I sold the Tacoma about a year ago. I did have to do a CMC to get them to fit without rubbing

Nice review. I have been considering this shock setup with SPC uppers as well. Currently I have 5100's. Did you consider going with the non Reservoir version of this shock? I do like that with the MRA you can dial things in but I'm wondering if paying the extra cost for the reservoir and dial is really worth it.
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND Год назад
No I did not consider the non adjustable shocks. Since my load varies, I really wanted to have that capability and honestly it is so worth it! You can really tell a difference between adjustments. And yeah I would definitely go with the SPC UCAs. Best on the market by far.

Ik you sold the truck. But after some use with the new dobinson setup. How was the rear holding up and what option did you opted for? Did it hold lift well? Or did it start to sag too much? Looking to get some dobinson leafs and hopefully get about 2"-2.50" of lift
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND Год назад
Sorry for the delay man. The rear help up really well. I think it settled maybe a quarter inch but not bad at all. I will say it is pretty soft though so more than about 200lbs in the back and it will start to sag.

Hello Sir. I want to add 2 inches of Dobinson lift kit in front and rear to my Prado 150. Should I get Dobinsons IMS or the regular yellow ones? Do I need to get spacers as Prado leans on sharp turns or roundabouts? What should be the front springs- C59-352? Rear Springs C59-325? Front Shocks IMS59-50700 Rear Shocks IMS59-50705. Sorry for asking a long question.
@OFFTHEGRIND
@OFFTHEGRIND 2 года назад
I’m so sorry for this response. I don’t know. I’m not familiar with that platform, nor your use of the vehicle. I know the IMS is a great option, but aside from specific springs I’m not sure. I have a bumper and winch going on so I have the 352s coming to handle the extra weight. Hope that helps even a little bit sorry if it does not

The dial that you adjust it with comes separately in the kit and you have to put them on the top of the coil overs. Did you do that?

@wyant4
@wyant4 4 месяца назад
I’m still running my kings with total chaos uppers. The setup has over 100k and it’s badly in need of a rebuild. The whole setup squeaks from the Uca’s and lower shock spherical. there is a fair amount of play. Overall the kings have been awesome and I would recommend them. That being said you need to be ok with rebuild intervals every 50,000 miles or so. I’m just not in a place in my life where that’s feasible anymore with time and money. (Family/house/kids) etc. it’s mostly the down time. Funny enough I’ve since bought 6112s and am just waiting to put them on till I get my carport finished. I’m hoping the 6112s will give me the longevity/ performance compromise I’m looking for. Also… the kings don’t offer life changing ride quality, it’s still stock geometry after all. It’s good.. is it worth the money? Idk really depends on who you are and what you really do with the truck.
