Love how Kills is so high, a true slasher gem

There's something about the direction of the original Halloween 2 that is just beautiful.

A Leatherface Vs Michael Myers crossover film would be pretty cool. Like, he stumbles upon the Sawyer family farm to lay low while they are currently keeping several victims captive and goes after both them and the teen survivors. And Leatherface becomes the last Sawyer standing towards the end. A premise like that would make the most sense. It escalating from the Sawyers minding their own business trying to kill and eat people to Michael invading their property and killing them too! And it could end with 2 or 3 survivors getting picked up by Dr Loomis driving a car and he asks them, “Was Michael here?! Where has the evil gone?!” Lol

To me Halloween 4 and Halloween Kills are probably the two scariest films, Kills has Micheal at his most brutal and aggressive, really feeling like an unstoppable monster who manages to wipe out anyone who stands against him, while 4 has a more haunting feel to it, with Haddonfield feeling like a ghost town almost and we're mostly with just Jamie, a scared little kid who can't fight against Micheal and only stand and watch as everyone who tries to help her is killed by Micheal himself. It's chilling.

Yes, love to see kills getting the respect it deserves. Michael is the strongest he has ever been in Kills and pissed at the world. Everyone who gets in his way pays the price. Great vids Doc always a pleasure.

Halloween is technically a multiverse because of how many timelines and continuities it has. Lol 💯

It's been my experience that the Rob Zombie Halloween movies either people love them or they hated them they didn't seem to be in between.

Doc’s appreciation of the DGG trilogy is such a green flag

Michael Myers has become my second favourite movie icon behind Optimus Prime as I have really gotten into the Halloween movies over the last several months after having never watched a Halloween movie 6 months ago.

Halloween 2 remains at the top for me. Many who say the do like or love Halloween 2 usually say it’s a great continuation with similar feel that does well… but for me it takes what I love about the first and amplifies everything making it more fun and more spooky through the second for me. Love Warlock as Michael, love Loomis even more, don’t mind Laurie not in as much as I like the suspense wondering when he’ll find her room, love the atmosphere, kills, suspense, and love the soundtrack. Flawed? Sure but for me I never minded and it’s still my favorite of the series and my personal favorite scary film of all time. It’s not better than the first at all, I just love it more Happy halfway to Halloween Doc, would absolutely love more Halloween/Myers content please.

I wonder if Dr Wolfula is going to discuss the 2 recently announced Evil Dead spin off films. I’m excited for Evil Dead to continue being an anthology franchise to not just be like every other legacy franchise having soulless repetitive legacy sequels aka requels. As much as I love Bruce’s Ash Williams, I don’t want his character to potentially get ruined. Plus, he might be actually serious about him being legitimately done in terms for live action projects and retirement. But at least he can voice young Ash in potential animations and more video games! 💯

As someone who HATED Halloween Ends upon first viewing, i find myself really enjoying it these days. If the Corey character was introduced earlier in the trilogy I think it would have been a very interesting touch throughout the three films. Also... TYRA BANKS IS IN THIS MOVIE!?!? hahah never gets old, Doc!

Im the outlier in that i genuinely loved, *loved* Ends. I loved the original but i actually got emotionally invested in Ends liked I hadnt with almost any other entry. I actually hold it on par with the original

Originally another version of a Halloween 6 would’ve had Michael and The Man in Black who would be his sidekick going on a road trip to find new victims and go on a killing spree. Sounds very interesting but IDK how fans would’ve responded to Michael having an accomplice. Especially since Halloween Ends butchered that concept later on anyway. Still, it sounds more interesting than the version(s) we got and a good what if scenario to ponder on.

Somebody pointed out that in Kills he basically rope a dope them. He blocks the one kill shot with thew gun at the start of the beat down. Then lets them go for it before taking them all out.

Very solid rankings. Mine is pretty simular except Halloween 6 would be in my top 5. I just love the atmosphere of that film and it holds a special place in my heart because it was the first Halloween film I got to see in a theater on a beautiful Fall day. My love for the Halloween films started at a young age when I had a terrifying experience with a guy wearing a Michael Myers mask and the whole get up. As scary as the situation was for me, it got me loving the character and the films.

This is a great, mature list. It’s solid AF 😂 mine would be slightly different. I’m glad you’re not hiding your love of the new trilogy just to appease the fans.

I think Halloween Ends would have worked better as the second movie in the trilogy. Like if they had set up Corey Cunningham as a side character in Halloween 2018 then had Halloween Kills show Corey becoming a killer and then Halloween Ends would have the town chasing after Corey thinking that he's Michael as Corey continues his killing spree.

Awesome ranking. Nice to see the love for Kills. Like you said it's really entertaining. I feel Halloween II is more than just the film that looks the most like the original. It establishes Michael as a real force to be reckoned with and lives up to the mystique Loomis built him up to be in the original. H6 is never boring that's true. Lol. I've come to enjoy 3 over the years. It's a fun time. Ends is the most polarizing to me. There's a lot to like but its baffling at the same time. Yeah Resurrection just plain sucks. Lol

I think Halloween Ends lives and dies by how interested people are in the Halloween universe surrounding Michael. If you come to see him, you’re going to have a bad time. But for me, the characters and the town of Haddonfield are always what I latch onto, I like seeing how they cope with the evil that Michael inflicts. I think adding Corey into the mix just made the mythos grander, he showcased that Michael had become the ultimate boogeyman, not even needing to be present anymore as he had left a mark on the town so big it was essentially eating itself alive. I personally love Ends, it just has a certain atmosphere and quality to it that I’ve not really seen in another movie. Here’s my ranking of the franchise: 1. Halloween (1978) 2. Halloween (2018) 3. Mine is very similar to this except i'd have: Halloween Halloween 2018 Halloween kills. No only are they great movies I just like the chronology of these movies. Halloween kills for me is the most polished and best made of the franchise, from the cinematography to the sound design, just a delight. Plus it has the most bass ass Michael moment when he takes on the townsfolk, putting on the mask is pure chills! lol I didnt like Halloween Ends as a Halloween movie, as a movie in itself it's fine, but for me there was little connection to the two previous movies, story beats in HK were never addressed, and the characters just flipped their personalities totally. A third movie really should have followed on quickly from HK as we had a lot of 'to be continued' moments at the end of HK. Just a wasted opportunity really. Halloween H20 is a guilty pleasure though, I love the story of Laurie in it, Jamie Lee Curtis was great, little action but at the end with Michael walking down the lane and Laurie opening and closing her eyes in disbelief always a great scene. Great vid!

I’m a huge fan of DGG’s trilogy. It’s the only time in the franchise we’d had a consistent vision for more than one installment at a time. He gave us three connecting stories that gave more than meets the eye if you’re willing to examine it. But there’s petulant haters in all walks of life. I’m just happy that when I do my yearly entire series rewatch, I have 3 quality movies to finish it out.

I’m concerned for the Halloween tv series in the works. Btw, I wonder what’s going to happen with that Camp Crystal Lake show since it’s being rehauled if not outright cancelled. Maybe instead of a prequel it’s being retooled into a large tv series set in its own continuity trying to re imagine all the elements from the series. For example, finally Jason might take Manhattan! 🤣💯

Halloween 4 and even for how goofy it is, Halloween 5 will always be my favorite ones. They were the first ones I saw as kid on television, AMC would always show horror movies on Friday nights and I remember those two would get played quite a bit so those two are what got me into the franchise and horror as a whole and Rob Zombies two movies are also very high on my list because they were the first horror movies I saw in the theater and I quite enjoyed them and they get regular airtime on television around Halloween season so I always like sitting down and watching them when they’re on.

Since we're retconning entire timelines, bring back Jamie-Lloyd and Rachel!
