I love that you are doing this "deep dive" series!!! That's one of the best parts of Doctor Who is looking for clues and trying to piece them together. Just know, Russel T Davies does like to throw a lot of red herrings in there too.
Less than 2 hrs until the episode drops, and I can't wait!! Great to see a new whovian going through the processes we all experience :') Loving the content! I think the Susan Twist plot is a massive red herring; RTD is a genius of misdirection. I have a feeling that Mrs. Flood will be playing a much more important role...
The "calendar age" thing is just because they're in the future. The AI knows from it's records when Ruby was born (2004), and it knows the current year (5086), so it calculates from that that Ruby must be 3,082 years old. It's her age according to the calendar, as opposed to her biological age
so great to see a new fan doing this! i think you might have a better angle at this than a lot of fans who have watched the other stuff, as they're very desperate for pretty much everything to be the return of [insert any character from the classic era]. i think that might be true for a couple aspects, but i have a feeling Twist's character is something new.
You are my favorite Doctor Who reaction channel right now. I love how delighted you are with all of it. It's a lot of fun watching you be curious and thoughtful and just throwing theories out there. Thank you. Kudos for doing a deep dive this early on. I joined the this fandom in 2011 and remember the confusion and the fun of discoveries. It's still there. I've caught up with NuWho (since 2005), but gave up on the Classics (everything before the 9th Doctor), so there is still a lot I don't know. And that's OK. Side note: A lot of this fandom, at least how it presents on youTube, is white guys, so it makes me extra happy, whenever I find someone who isn't.
waited for the episode to release to avoid possible spoiling theories and stick to my own but I gotta say I love how you immediately jump from first time viewing to theorizing. That's the spirit! also through this video I realized that there were connections to the answer in almost every appearance but they so subtle noone could have seen them except if you do know the answer and I'm dying in my heart. It was so obvious and hidden at the same time

honestly theres not enough episodes in this season. I think 8-10 episode seasons can work if you are doing a longform story. but for episodic shows you really needed those extra episodes for character development. with each episode being a whole new situation and cast it doesnt leave as much time for us to really get to know the main characters. you got 45 minutes to introduce a villain and the plot and the side characters and go through all the paces. if you look at old shows with 20+ episode seasons we would have whole episodes dedicated to getting to know more about 1 of our characters.
Only 10 hours to episode release! I'm genuinely happy that as a long-term DW fan, I still have no idea what the main threat is for the finale! Of course there's theories, but nothing has been concrete thus far.
Gaudete was a Christmas hit for Steeleye Span in 1972 and the episode is set at Christmas. She is playing is an older "hippy" lady so having her request a Steeleye Span song and the band not recognised it helps establish the character.
I would say you should start watching the revival from series 1 from 2005 onwards till you catch up to the present after this season is finished since you won't be getting new episodes for a long tine (first new episode is this Christmas and then the next season is the next year in 2025) so you will have enough time to catch up till next year.
the ocean is a big place. you can deep dive over and over and find nothing every time. its fun that you are so intrigued by this. i miss having that feeling with doctor who. hopefully what ever the case is it will feel satisying. i fear the seasons are too short. like as much hate as jodi got she did have one potentially good series but the episode count was lowered supposedly due to covid so they didnt get to delivery a satisfying conclusion.

Triad is an anagram for TARDIS. She is either a human version of the Tardis, a Timelord (Meddling Monk, Rani, Susan Foreman), or using Tardis technology as Director of Triad Technology.
dang... not all old white people look the same... but yea that is a weird one how the neighbor goes from not knowing what this bluebox is to breaking the 4th wall at the end asking us if weve never seen a tardis before... imo i think its just a dumb thing for new viewers who might have been surprised by how big it was inside
