you would be surprised how much research is going on for certain topics in almost every anime .. even if its just casual slice of life/comedy.. not to speak of topic-heavy animes like cells at work or seton gakuen (new anime last season.. just finished airing in japan) probably more than in the average western series/movies watch the reactions of sicknotes.. he goes way deeper in his analysis

Mass media isn't a reliable source of information. This has been proven time and time again. They lie and exaggerate events to get views, because those views are their source of income. They are also the main outlet for spreading propaganda and other such things. So it's best to do our own research before freaking out about certain events. We're quite lucky that we have the Internet now, and are able to fact check the things we see... though, it should be a given that we also have to make sure that the info we are getting on the web are coming from reliable sources.

What I love about the way you explain medicine or just the subject, in general, is that part of it is really just some common sense. For example, when you spoke about how after fighting off an infection, you mentioned some areas of the body are still affected by the "battle" between your cells and the virus. It makes perfect sense. of course, you won't be in absolutely tip-top shape if you only just got rid of the virus, the same way a city might not be in tip-top shape right after winning a war. It takes time to heal. It is almost surprising how simple it seems after learning it, yet I would not have known it without learning it from you.

@@antislutful Also check out Eiga Koe no Katachi, (A Silent Voice). It's an anime about bullying and dealing with it, and it doesn't pull punches.

as a child I was constantly getting sick with things like the flu and I also remember that for a short amount of time I had like temporary asthma so I always thought that it was weird that im almost never sick now, but watching made me realize why my immunity has gotten better so yay ig

I’ve only had the flu once, and it affected the rest of my family way differently than it did me. I was able to be up and walk around pretty easily and had little to no symptoms. But my mom truly described it as being hit by a train. She had a really bad fever, she was extremely congested, she complained of pain all over her body, she was super weak, and couldn’t do much of anything. Me and my mom were quarantined together, so while I had the flu I was also taking care of my mom who had the flu. Viruses affect people differently. Another example is when my mom caught Covid, she had little to no symptoms. A light fever and some coughing. While when I got Covid, I had a really high fever, I was nauseous, I couldn’t breathe, and I lost my sense of smell and taste. It was the worst week of my life. I quarantined myself away from everybody for 2 weeks in total, because you could still be infectious even after you have no symptoms. Thankfully nobody else got sick in my house. But yeah. Viruses affect people differently in unique ways. What may be a mild cold for you, could be someone else’s death. So always take precautions to protect yourself and others.
