I think they should have added a bit more cameos to make it crazier but It really won't change my opinion that much because I loved the movie.

No, I hate it because it shit all over a fan favorite character, had 1-dimensional characters all over the place, and relied on an already worn-out trope of cameos to put butts in seats. Wanda deserved better.

No cameos were cut people just had unrealistic expectations for 100 ridiculous cameos

I got to be honest this was really bad - I get how some things could look great in a vacuum but nothing worked here - Action fell flat , jokes failed , no suspense , no character worked here , story doesnt work and the forced representation was contrived. Whats so bad about it is looks like they cut alot from the movie that could have helped. Hell even the beginning feels like you missed the first 10 minutes of the movie.

Raimi is a big reason why this movie is bad. Nothing to do with cameos and all that. His directing did not fit this movie or the mcu in general honestly. He does campy horror, but he tried to pass off a bunch of that as serious in this movie, reducing characters like wanda to a hilarious one note villain that completely disregards her entire past and what she gave up to not be the bad guy in wandavision.

I think this was my issue, the movie had way too many moments that had the entire cinema laughing when they weren't supposed to be, serious or epic or even horror moments and then all the comedy went by with basically not a single chuckle.

Where did he say this? Because according to alot of people that was just a rumor and was never actually confirmed.

I remember a few months ago theaters were reporting it would be the 2 hour and 30 min or something. It was supposed to be behind Eternals and endgame as the longest mcu film

You can really feel how chopped up it was. There's parts where they (imo) spend too much time on characters standing about chatting, then the action scenes go by quite fast. I'd love to see a longer version, but sadly Feige doesn't do extended cuts.

What we got was a lot of blood shed from Wanda, can't believe she's the main villain. Cool part is seeing John Krasinski as Reed Richards

Seeing the Spider-Man in nwh was surreal, and I hate Tom h and andrews spideys… there great actors but I was always drawn to tobeys Spider-Man. But yeah Wasnt a huge fan of nwh, but it does triumph over this movie BIG time.

Probably, yeah. It built up unreachable expectations for what the multiverse held as having Charles there played by Stewart made people think old versions of characters would show up

I’m a person who stays away from all trailers and I’m still pissed that so much of the movie was ruined by simple still images that you can’t avoid on RU-vid. My expectations were a little too high and I felt like there weren’t many surprises. Still a good movie, unfortunately not great

Spoiler Question do you think that John will be back? I'm honestly kind of pissed that he died in the fashion he did especially if he isn't Mr. Fantastic in the next fantastic 4. It feels like a spit in the face if they cast him and then immediately kill him.

@@dylansharp8471 What? It’s true. It feels like a Scarlet Witch and America Chavez movie rather than a Doctor Strange movie. Doctor Strange is just there to desperately protect America from Scarlet Witch. At least in What If…? and the first movie, Doctor Strange felt the main character because it’s solely focused on him rather than other characters that we already knew from the previous movies or characters that were recently introduced.

Same feeling I felt for NWH both movies coulda really been over in 15 min, instead they break the multiverse for a teenage kid so his friends can go to college, then for a crazy witch who wants kids…. Avengers couldn’t break multiverses because it would end time, the second Loki kills Kang, anyone can break the multiverse for literally anything. Next marvel multiverse movie: “My favorite barista is dead, no one makes coffee like her. I need to go through the multiverse and find her so I can get my coffee back and finally go to college” featuring a million 2000’s cameos for all you adult and teen fan girls

I solo movie that isn’t just a solo movie but a pivotal push for the current MCU phase, wanted just strange in a strange movie, and not want any other people, maybe don’t watch a movie called multiverse of madness, we literally see like 4 stranges, 2 Wanda’s, and one America but yea we can act like WandaVision didn’t happen and literally set this entire damn movie up….

They're actually not. It takes BOTH Doctor Strange and Professor Xavier to calm Wanda from her madness in the House of M.

This is why I always go in with lower expectations because setting your expectations high will ruin your experience

I feel like learning to temper expectations and hype is a good thing to learn. I cant tell you how many good movies i thought were bad simply because they didnt match my expectations but when i watched them for what they were i enjoyed the films. Not all, but it happened enough i decided to make adjustments on my end so i can enjoy them the first time.

@@baldmammoth i havent seen it yet but my son who works at a theater did. Ive been asking non spoiler questions but get a very similar response to yours. He cant tell me anything without spoiling it. Which just makes me even less patient to see it.

This is exactly how I feel about NWH but people like him and most others feel like it’s the second coming of Jesus. NWH plot is way way worse than this but MCU can just rely on nostalgia bait and post credits to get by and no longer need good story telling. The entire time when I watch both movies in theatres I kept saying “why doesn’t he just do this” “ are they seriously wasting precious time doing this” “really breaking the multiverse and getting innocents killed for this?!?” Good popcorn MOVIES bad FILMS both of them, bring me phase 1-3 again. MAKE MARVEL FANTASTIC AGAIN!

I’m glad all those characters didn’t appear. I never saw those shows so I didn’t want to be missing out on more details than I already was missing by not seeing WandaVision. Plus, I’d bet if they were in the movie, there would be more complaints than there would be less

@@KirbyZilla Sam Rami is absolutely incredible, there is no question there. The movie had so much potential, I just feel like it was rushed and that’s my perspective, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Imagine if Sam Raimi directed Ghost Rider or Wolverine. Imagine how much violent and gruesome would those movies look like or if they got him back to direct Spiderman movies, but with Tom Holland since Jon watts passed from directing superhero movies because he wants to direct movies with different genres.

The point of the movie is show how far one would go for love. Strange and Wanda are opposites. Strange wants to be with Christine but he can’t because you can’t force love. Wanda wants her kids back. The difference is Wanda uses her powers to get ahead and get her kids back. Strange loves Christine but he knows no matter what he does he will never get her. Because again you can’t force love hence Wanda scaring her kids away. We see evil stranges do this to be with Christine and it always works out the same. The universe he is in gets destroyed and he doesn’t get to be with her. In Wanda’s case she has been through so much grief and trauma I think it makes sense for her to go ballistic. Plus the book it’s self enhances her direction to do that. In her mind she had been through more grief and pain than anyone so she asks why does everyone else get to be happy? Shouldn’t she… so she goes on a rampage which imo is totally realistic. I think her becoming what she is in this movie makes perfect sense. A mother would do anything for their children too. We saw at the end of Wandavison what she was planning on doing to get her kids back. I personally loved the movie and only wished we got to see more universes, I loved scarlet witch and thought she was terrifying and is now one of my favorite villains. The fact she went so far to do what she does is terrifying. Problem with the shitty marvel formula movies is the fact we don’t see these Villains kill or outright go ballistic on people like they are supposed to. I mean seriously a great villain you can sympathize with but having one that’s a total sociopath works too. The way Wanda was done was perfect imo and really made me fear for what was going to happen next. I felt fear and suspense for my characters on screen when she was near. I just wish the pacing was somewhat a little bit slower. Not only that but having us see 1 universe was disappointing. But at this core. I think this movie shows what marvel could be if they were to go a bit more violent. I liked it more because it felt more realistic to what people would do with powers. It felt different. If the movie was paced slightly like daredevil with the violence I have a feeling it would’ve been received better. Keep the start have Wanda act good throughout the movie and then betray them. Then 2nd and 3rd have batshit Wanda. Doctor strange beat Wanda in the end. He taught american how to use her powers to show Wanda what she had become. Would have I liked it if it was one big fight at the end? No that would’ve been like every other marvel movie. I liked the ending we got.

In No Way Home, it actually wasn't blatant fan service at all. All the cameos had meaning, all were relevant to the story, they had arc. In the Multiverse of Madness, it was the exact opposite. The cameos couldn't be more blatant and they were completely irrelevant. They were there just to show up and then vanish.

Same plus you know there saving the big cameos for secret wars

I think watch it for yourself because you never know if you like what this movie does. I see alot of fans had huge expectations comming off of spiderman no way home which did the impossible. People were expecting this movie to do the same. Which makes since because this trailer was literally shown after every spiderman screening. Just enjoy it as a doctor strange movie and it might be enjoyable

Well that was Universe-838’s version of Black Bolt - what makes you think that they have to replicate everything you as a comic fan has read from many comic books. For a typical audience - Bolt’s power was already shown in the flashback sequence and it was easy to follow in the Wanda sequence thereafter. The film also showed Reed hyping Bolt and I sensed arrogance from members of the Illuminati that they can handle Wanda but this is Universe-616 Wanda that they are facing. Overall no disrespect shown by the writers.

They just wanted to get rid of him quickly, I guess this "variant" of him is simply the incomplete panicky version, or more precisely... the version of him without plot armor, as with the rest of them.
