Hell No. Maybe if this series were to be actually accurate to the show, and have kid actors to play the powerful puff girls, use CGI for them, and a CGI Mojo Jojo, and stay true to the show itself, I would watch it. But sounds like this is gonna be trash
Wait, so let me get this straight. They decided to turn a beloved CHILDREN'S cartoon into a dark, edgy, sexualized, and very adult show on the CW. As well as feature the professor (a caring and loving father) as someone who actively exploits his daughters for marketability and profit. That's like turning Foster's home for imaginary friends into a rated-R horror film. You have got to be kidding me!!!! Even if they changed the script, I fail to see how an adult version of the Power Puff Girls in live-action would succeed in any way. I pray that the CW would just cancel this project all together and I can rest easy knowing that THIS doesn't exist.
honestly it's really fucking creepy too and the sexual comments the girls make about the professor ugh I could have gone all my life without that. Even with a good script I can't see this as a good idea.

Actually there's this theory that Foster's Home for imaginary kids is actually just a character's imagination or something. And honestly most children shows are actually terrifying and and have many adult themes and hidden jokes. It's just that as a kid you don't notice these things. That's why this is all debatable, I don't think they should make a live action powerpuff Girls, not because the themes discussed are going too far or wrong, but because I think it'll fail 🤷🏾♂️.

Imagine they did this to Spongebob, where Squidward is sick of SpongeBobs crap that now he’s a drug addict, Patrick is now a boring character and he’s serious all the time, Mr Krabs is another boring character that gets killed off in the first episode, Sandy has anxiety and scared to go outside, and SpongeBob is now depressed and drinking wondering where did it all go wrong.

I feel like this live action approach would work more if townsville was the dark and moody place but the girls were all still very wholesome and unique. Buttercup could slowly adapt and understand this dark world, bubbles would refuse to look at anything negatively and blossom could be stuck in the middle. I think that approach would be a lot better.

ppgs wasnt ever really a kids show. The creator said it was just made for him. the og name was literally whoopass girls and its probably one of the very few cartoon shows to have permanent death and blood in it to air on cartoon network. or any other cartoon place. cartoon network had to change some stuff to make it more kid-friendly

...Us getting another 'The Last Airbender' and me being a lil' Writer made me think: Can i do a better and more compelling story in 5 Minutes flat?! So i tried! Tell me your thoughts on this: A Lab Experiment has created 3 Lil' Girls with Superpowers, which is especially incredible because their World already has a Power-System! 'Nen' from HunterxHunter!! Its hidden and unkown to the public though, but their 'Father'/Creator, happens to be something of a low-key Nen-Expert, so he starts to teach them, as well as the Neighbour Boy who happens to accidently overhear a talk about Nen, so he just gets included cause hes nice. Its wholesome and interesting, the dynamics grow and so does their Power: But then, Buttercups Decision to step over her shadow and ask the other 3 to help her make a really smart Nen; something which she was proud on having done, BACKFIRED! Her Nen of the Enhancement Type was so effective in its property of 'growing over time' that she became literally too strong. Her Family-Bonds had backfired and turned her Situation in something very similar to 'Kevin.E.Levin' from Ben 10! The stronger she grows, the smaller her control and even Sanity gets!! From then on, one of the Sister detoriates, which of course affects all other Characters (as Character Dynamics should do, duh). How it affects them, you ask? Well, they try to help, of course, but theres a spin to that: Blossom, as smart as she was and as 'enthuastic about being smart' as she was (if you get what i mean) had created 3 whole Nen-Abilities in a short time, which was nice and all... but it backfired! She was the only one after all with the brain and creativity to make a new Abilitiy that would then save/heal Buttercup! But... but she had used up all her Memory-Space! Her Powers were nice and good and effective, yes, but useless for helping Buttercups Status - so she could do nothing. All the pressure therefore fell on Bubbles; and to put it simply: Pressure aint good for lil' Bubbles. The Professor meanwhile? Their Sensei and Daddy-o? He was feeling guilty. If only he had been a better Teacher, it wouldnt have come like this. Even if just for the topic of memory-space being something to preserve - the Crisis could have been prevented. What do do? What... to... do... Eventually, they overcome the crisis, only to find a new Crisis arise: John, their friend they hadnt seen in a while, had become a True Monster (i mean, figuratively, not Big and Hairy and with 2 Heads; no)! He was using Mastery over Nen for Evil! But what had happened while they hadnt looked? Well, you see... The unfortunate Truth is that some young people stay as long in School as they can... just to avoid going Home. Some people in Real LIfe do that; they do outside-activities, fearing their family and the time at home. This kid was the same. Fearing his bad parents, it was always a Bliss to play around with the Neighbour Girls; but when he started learning Nen with them, which did not only cost even more time (to his glee) but, thanks to his Talent, even gave him never-before-levels of Inlcusion and Praise, all this just intensified. So when they excluded him, being busy with the family-crisis, of course stopping all the Nen-Lessons and even Play-Dates, he was fully back in the Dark. And being trapped at Home wasnt healthy for him; so just 1 Bully-Moment at school tipped him over and started a downwards-spiral, leading to True Evil.

Okay, Scooby Doo in the dark edgy style of this: Fred is a patient in a mental hospital, completely disconnected from the world, sometimes going outside with his two nurses, he calls ‘shaggy’ and ‘Velma’. They sometimes indulge in his fantasies and even pretend they too can see Daphne, his deceased girlfriend who died when nudes were spread around social media of her and she decided to end her life by driving off of a cliff. Fred also hears an old stray dog he calls Scooby talk. Scooby visible patches of fur missing and maybe deaf from his numerous years on the street, as he never responds to verbal commands. Fred finds random ‘clues’ and speaks about ghosts and monsters and tried to build traps as Shaggy and Velma desperately try to make him take his medication. They take Fred back to the hospital when he rips someone’s face off thinking it was a mask. -did I ruin your childhood? Probably not as much as the Power Puff girls script did.
Yeah I was thinking like a SpongeBob remake you know where it's basically about this guy but in order to stay happy he does like a bunch of that gas station Molly that used to be available and like he feels like he's underwater his best friend has autism and his next door neighbor used to be in a rock band and likes to brag about how he was the opening act for My chemical romance like 10 years ago and it never took off so now he constantly thinks about killing himself. And his boss is actually a cannibal but he so blissfully unaware of it because he's on drugs all the time so he doesn't realize that his boss is tricking people into going into his office when they have complaints so we can chop them up and make them into people burgers which apparently is super addicting. And pllankton can just plain be an l character like in death Note or he's on to Mr Krabs character and he is trying to bust him by coming up with his own burger joint and pretending that he's sneaking to see what the recipe is when he already knows it he just wants evidence.

I expected sexualization. But that jokes or “I’ll leak you nudes”- the script was written by older creepy men, trying to think about how 26 year old women would talk to each other 🤦♂️. I know people joke around but leaking your sisters nudes seems likes it’s something that so rare it’s disgusting.
I feel like we should've kept an open mind, Diablo Cody has had a good run so far! I'm a bit biased cause I met her and we're both Minnesotans but still, the rest of the season could've been great!
It’s crazy because now definitely makes you fear how the rest of the show is going to be. Who’s to say that what happens on that dead script is nothing compared to what is going to really happen in that show.
Seriously, if they're that hard up on good writers and writing, I know a few fanfiction writers who could and have written some amazing stories about aged-up characters from the PPG series we watched and loved as kids.
I hope after this trainwreck people can start appreciating the hidden gem that is Powerpuff Girls Z, an example on how to follow the lives of the girls in their teenage years, keeping the same vibes from the original show whilst being innovative and interesting in the process, and not by being inappropiate.

The fandom already has a bunch of good fanfics with funny and realistic teenage drama, amazing character developments, and good writing worthy of being turned into a full series from what I've seen. There was plenty of material for inspiration and ideas if they needed any.

Buttercup was never a lesbian in either of the cartoon shows: - 1998: she had a crush on a villain, and traveled to the future to date her Rowdyruff Boy counterpart - 2016: she had a whole episode about swooning over a boy band, if you _really_ wanna read deeply into that one time she got kissed by a woman (and poked her tits with a stick), she's bi at best This "tomboy = lesbian" thing is just blatant stereotyping
Y'know imo, I believe some cartoons/anime should never have a live action reboot/adaptation since some things wouldn't work out. Unless these companies have a Marvel budget (and we know they don't) to they shouldn't be doing certain things. I promise you watching them fly and use special moves will be cringe inducing. The story will just be the nail in the coffin😂
professor could never be a villain. in the dynamo episode hes scared shitless of losing them when they fight with the first giant fish balloon & says he thought he was gonna. when he shows them the dynamo the next day he says they mean everything 2 him, theyre his life & even cries. hes such a damn sweet, gentle dad & loves them more than anything. blossom was my favorite character when i was little but now he is. im almost 27 & still watch the show all the damn time. i just heard sunday night tom kane had 2 retire cuz of his stroke :( i hope he’ll be ok & recover. i just prayed 4 him last night. i know hes probably never gonna voice act again but i hope he makes it & recovers. get well soon tom aka professor :(

Nah, the people at CW released a statement saying that the pilot was “too campy,” so they are completely fine with the edginess of the show, the over-sexualized powerpuff girls, and the blatant wokeness of the script. That’s just shamless how the only thing they find wrong with it was the “tone”
No, because now the creator of the original series is developing a PPG revival show continuing off from the OG PPG. That's our only hope for some good PPG content in almost 20 years

I’m glad that CW said no to this. It sounds like a pilot for a cartoon on Adult Swim. And yes, some of the choices that were in the script were very poor and if they did go with that, I’d imagine it’ll be the death of CW
