Jordan M. Dude I was laughing so hard. And my mom was trying to tell me to be quiet, I was like 'why would I stop laughing when literally everyone else in the theater is laughing as well?' XD
Siegmeyer of Catarina The idea is that as an entity by itself, Dormammu doesn't understand time. There's no point of reference if u are the entire dimension by itself. So Strange introduce the concept of time to Dormmamu's dimension, and Dormmammu isn't prepared for it. Or how annoying a respawning enemy is.
It's worth noting that Thor seems to know Odin is missing, and that Loki is alive. WE, the audience, knew that, but Thor didn't. Thor left Asgard in The Dark World in the mind that Odin was fine, and Loki was dead. So what happened between then and now?
Liam Anthony I feel this mid credit scene is a scene from Thor Ragnarok so we should see Thor find out right at the beginning and drag Loki to Earth to find Odin and this is where we get the Strange/Thor scene. I also feel Loki will find out the time gem is with Strange during this
Just because Thor Ragnark is 3 movies away doesn't necessarily mean it will take place after Guardians 2 and Spiderman. kinda like Iron Man 2's ending only being the halfway point of The Incredible Hulk, as well as Thor and Iron Man 2 taking place at the same time, and Guardians 2 (according to interviews) being only a few months after Guardians 1 putting it before Ultron.
the same thing happend with ant-men, his post credit scene was in the middle of Cap: civil war, pretty much that will happen to Thor 3. Some point in the middle of the movie they will come to earth, and that scene will happen, and hopefuly more stuff related to Dr. Strange
Time kept going as it waits for no man... or god... but occasionally for sorcerers. Obviously we'll probably discover that Thor figured out Loki's plan over several months, busted him and then dragged his butt off the throne to go find Odin, clearly he had bigger fish to fry than worrying about Civil War. So yeah hopefully we'll see a few flashbacks of things that happened in between the other movies leading to Ragnarok.
Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain... Dormammu, I've come to bargain...
I've gotta admit, annoying your enemy into submission is a pretty creative way to defeat ones' enemy. lol For all we know he could have been doing that to Dormammu for years.
This movie was phenomenal. The first Marvel movie that was extremely educated. When the Ancient One touches Doctor Strange's forehead, and he goes through that insane breakthrough, that was very similar to smoking DMT. I'm convinced the creators of this movie were into some heavy psychedelics forreal. It was heavily inspired by eastern mysticism cultures and ancient mayan/aztec imagery, trippy stuff. Also this movie had the most insane visuals I've ever seen in any movie. It made Inception look like child's play. Super fluid. 10/10 would watch again
Consequently that's how Strange died in the Ultimate universe. World's greatest Sorcerer got choked to death by his cape. (But then a lot of dumb shit happened around that general plot like Magneto getting decapitated by Cyclops and New York got destroyed by a tidal wave. Comic Books...)
We do have set photos of Ragnarok showing Thor outside the sanctum holding a piece of paper with its address on it plus photos of Odin as a NYC bum so I think we are having another Ant-Man situation
I've rewatched that scene a dozen times and it's still hilarious. Benedict Cumberbatch's performance, Thor's banter, and the fucking refilling tankard. Seriously, I loved it.
Fun fact: in an early draft of Doctor Strange, during the scene with Dormammu, Strange says the line, "Come on...we've been through this over a thousand times..."
Mordo was amazing and honestly I just love how he's portrayed in the film. The actor which his name I can't remember did an amazing job. He's actually more of a hero than strange is if you ask me.

Marcus Blixenkrone-Møller I would change The Avengers and Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk is worse than Iron Man 2 which I actually enjoyed. Iron man 3 is not better than Amt Man
was I the only one that picked up on the War Machine Easter egg. He was driving his Lambo and his colleague rang him to ask him if he was interested in certain surgical procedures. The first one he said was a "spinal cord injury caused by a test machine" linking to when he crashed in Civil War. Thought it was a cool inclusion.
My list; 1) Civil War 2) Avengers 3) Iron Man 4) Guardians Of The Galaxy 5) Doctor Strange 6) Winter Soldier 7) Ant Man 8) Age Of Ultron 9) Iron Man 3 10) Thor The Dark World 11) The First Avenger 12) Iron Man 2 13) Thor 14) The Incredible Hulk That's just my opinion tho

I don't think Dormammu could try torturing Dr Strange anyway. Strange could probably willingly restart the loop again to stop whatever pain anytime he wants.
I felt that the beginning until his car accident was a little rushed, I think we could have spent more time with him before his accident even though I think they did a fine enough job of establishing his character.
zombiekiller9503 if you watch back at marvel movies, with maybe the exception of Ironman 1, all these movies were rushed. like one point they were just getting to know each other and then boom! boss fight..
I've never read comics, but I felt that if you read the story as a book, it would be way more developed. The movie just gave you a taste of what it was.
Jeremy, did you wait until this day specifically to upload this video, just to give the citizens of the US something to cheer them up on this particular day?
The movie was very entertaining, the acting was excellent, the visuals were stunning; but it didn't have a huge impact after leaving the theatre, like Iron Man or Captain 2 did.
TastyDash That's fine, everyone has different tastes. :) I loved the movie overall, but it felt a bit incomplete; I think the lack of good music has something to do with it; Stephen Strange's character didn't have the thrilling/mind blowing effect, that Tony Stark had when he put on his Mark 2 suit, or when Cap and Bucky were fighting on the highway. I am sure he will evolve greatly in the next movies, Cumberbatch is a talented fella. :)
Can't compare to winter soldier have to wait if there's a doctor strange 2. Because yeah captain America second movie I believe is the best one of marvel movies
Cinematography in this movie is an A+. The slow mo shot in the snow with the helicopter and the lightning was amazing. And the mid-credits scene was one of the best.
I just realized I was watching this at 33 views for 8 minutes. Anyways, out of all the marvel films this one falls in the category of "it's pretty good, but not the greatest marvel film."
just saw this movie today in imax 3d and it was awesome! wish I was stoned but went with the family. Going to see it with my cuz tho next weekend again in dbox and this time going to get stoned af! Cant wait to watch it again. The dbox seats move during the movie so it will be a whole different experience.
So does this mean Dr Strange is the most powerful character so far in the MCU? Thanos doesn't count because he hasn't done shit yet, I'm talking strictly what we've seen. Scarlet Witch was pretty op but she seems like a novice compared to him. I mean the dude is looping time in his first movie, what the hell is he gonna be capable of later? lol
Sam Fisher but that is with the power of an infinity stone that he can control time. Without it he's probably on par with Scarlet Witch in his current state.
Even without the stone he's more powerful. There is no way Wanda could beat Kaecilius, or even his zealots. She's got raw power but she's to unskilled. Strange is a magic prodigy trained by the previous Sorcerer Supreme for a year; with access to millennia of arcane knowledge. Drop her in the mirror dimension and the fights over. Well honestly, drop any non-sorcerer in the mirror dimension and the fights over.
Odin is your answer to that question. Odin is crazy overpowered and of al the "real" characters with screen time I would say Thor is still the strongest in the MCU There is a reason why Thor and Hulk were not in Civil War
I actually really loved this movie. Like, I feel its being drastically underrated. If want to know more on that I guess you can check out my review on my channel. Yes, this has been a SHAMELESS PLUG!
11kakuzu Thank you, much appeciated. Though the review is real. And Im pretty sure im straight. But Im proud of you for having a brave voice that adds so much to the world in this day and age!
Mid credit scene with Thor was great! I liked his saying he wasn't a tea person, and then the way the tankard of beer/mead just disappears, and his bemusement when it fills itself. Clearly they're going to be good friends!
1) Captain America: Civil War - 9.4/10 2) Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 9.3/10 3) Guardians of the Galaxy - 9.2/10 4) Iron Man - 9.1/10 5) The Avengers - 9.0/10 6) Doctor Strange - 8.8/10 7) Avengers: Age of Ultron - 8.5/10 8) Ant Man - 8.3/10 9) Captain America: The First Avenger - 8.2/10 10) Thor - 8.0/10 11) Iron Man 3 - 7.7/10 12) Thor: The Dark World - 7.3/10 13) Iron Man 2 - 7.1/10 14) The Incredible Hulk 7.0/10
Did anyone think there should've been an explicit training montage because even though it showed that he did his own studying on the side (astral projection cool stuff) , I still didn't feel like Strange was well equipped enough to fend of the Really Bad Case of the Pink Eye People.
He kind of wasn't. He was outmatched and would never have been able to defeat them in a fight so he had to use his brain and what he had at his disposal.
Yeah I get what you're saying. They should've added a greater indication of the amount of time he spent there at the very least to give a little bit of a time scale, as the only indication is his beard growing (which could've taken place in just a few weeks) and the girl saying she hadn't seen him in a long time
I think Winter Soldier is still #1. Dr. Strange is my number my #5 after Avengers 1, Iron Man 1, and Civil War. Still it's an awesome movie, one of the best Marvel films I've seen.
He also feels and remembers each time he gets killed in the loop. Hence his big speech about taking the pain for the good of everyone else. He was just saying it each time to drive up the annoyance factor. Plus, there's small changes to the way he says it with each loop, which wouldn't be the case if he was not aware of it.
1. Winter Soldier 2. Civil War 3. Guardians of the Galaxy (tough call between 2 and 3) 4. Iron Man 5. Avengers 6. Doctor Strange 7. First Avenger 8. Thor 9. Dark World 10. Ant Man 11. Iron Man 3 12. Age of Ultron 13. Iron Man 2 14. Incredible Hulk (it might not be the worst but it's the last one I'd go back to) On a side note: 8-12 I'm kind of indifferent about so they could really just be switched around
When the Ancient One was in her astral form talkin to Strange before she died, I got a Interstellar vibe when she started talkin bout time being relative. Got the chills from that scene bruh.
do{ Console.WriteLine("Dormammu, I've come to bargain!"); string response = Console.ReadLine(); if (response == "WHAT DO YOU WANT?") break; } while(true);
When I first saw this comment, I was like, "You did it wrong; there's no terminating while()." Then I remembered that Google sucks at maintaining their code and as a result the "read more" tag is missing 50% of the time. So basically, you are a better programmer than Google.
Amazing: Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: Civil War Great: The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Doctor Strange Good: Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, Avengers: Age of Ultron Decent: Thor, Ant-Man Mediocre: The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World
No specific order within each category, just the movies within each category are without a doubt better than the ones below it and worse than the ones above it.
While I was watching this, the first time I heard them say Dormammu, my friend leaned over and said that he thought they said ur mumma. So then every time they said Dormammu, me and him couldn't stop laughing. If you rewatched it you should be able to see what I mean
Not mincing words, Mr. Jahns. Not only was Doctor Strange the best movie of Marvel's recent entries, it also perfectly encapsulated the grumpiness and energy of the original Steve Ditko run. Good catch on the Green Lantern comparison!
Yea man this was a great movie. I really liked how clever and unique the ending was especially how it was more of a outsmarting the villian situation until they gave up. It feelts good to see him win without the stranded last minute determination power up or some other athing.
the car accident from the hands really fingers they should have done something better Corner wheelchair or like one of his legs I really didn't understand this movie and I read the comics I prefer the comics
I agree except that Strange wouldn't give up, since for him no time is actually passing. Although it seems like it since he is aware of what is occurring, he shows no memory of past deaths, which makes sense, because for him time still applies, so every time he dies time resets, and so does he, so the cycle would literally occur forever. The only reason he is aware of what is occurring is because he already thought out and planned all this. Dormammu understands whats occurring since he himself does not reset, which also makes sense since he is a being who exists outside time. So the only one suffering is Dormammu, because strange won't actually experience any time movement or memories of death, and thus I don't quite think your Prometheus idea would have worked. (This feels out of place, but this is another great vid.)
My Marvel List: (Based on how much I enjoyed each movie) 1. Doctor Strange (simply amazing, I was laughing and enjoying myself the entire time) 2. Avengers (One of the best Marvel movies ever made in my opinion) 3. Civil War (Somewhat over-hyped, but I still really enjoyed it) 4. The Winter Soldier (Way better than the original) 5. Guardians of the Galaxy (Very original and interesting movie, I did not see it coming) 6. Ant-Man (The Underdog, nobody thought it would be as good as it was) 7. Iron Man (Our first introduction to Iron Man, and probably the funniest one of the bunch) 8. Captain America: The First Avenger (Kinda boring at certain points, the start was pretty weak, but I still liked it) 9. Age of Ultron (Destruction and chaos was pretty much the only thing this movie had going for it) 10. Iron Man 3 (A somewhat boring movie to watch, but hey, it`s Iron Man) 11. Thor: The Dark World (Cool visual effects, and some hints of humor every now and then, but that`s pretty much it) 12. Thor (So bad I don`t really remember all of it) 13. Iron Man 2 (Everyone pretty much wants to forget that this movie happened) 14) Hulk (Yeah just no) Now don`t get me wrong, every one of Marvel`s movies is good and enjoyable, but this is my personal list over the best ones. Please let me know if I have forgot any.
This movie takes place right after Civil War because when Strange is in the car and he is offered a surgery for an Air Force guy with a spinal injury in a metal suit. Well we all know who that is.
I don't think the visual effects are talked about enough, it was one of the best in any movie i have ever seen. It's like they got the buildings and treated them like a rubix cube. So cool.
Worst to best MCU movies: 14. Iron Man 2 13. Iron Man 3 12. Thor: The Dark World 11. Captain America: The First Avenger 10. Avengers: Age of Ultron 09. Avengers 08. The Incredible Hulk 07. Dr. Strange 06. Guardians of the Galaxy 05. Ant-Man 04. Thor 03. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 02. Iron Man 01. Captain America: Civil War
Best to worst MCU movies 1) Captain America: Civil War - 9.4/10 2) Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 9.3/10 3) Guardians of the Galaxy - 9.2/10 4) Iron Man - 9.1/10 5) The Avengers - 9.0/10 6) Doctor Strange - 8.8/10 7) Avengers: Age of Ultron - 8.5/10 8) Ant Man - 8.3/10 9) Captain America: The First Avenger - 8.2/10 10) Thor - 8.0/10 11) Iron Man 3 - 7.7/10 12) Thor: The Dark World - 7.3/10 13) Iron Man 2 - 7.1/10 14) The Incredible Hulk 7.0/10
to me its like this. IRONMAN 3 THOR 2 IRONMAN 2 INCREDIBLE HULK After this, the rest I love THOR CAPTAIN AMERICA AVENGERS 2 ANT-MAN IRONMAN GUARDIANS DOCTOR STRANGE AVENGERS CAPTAIN AMERICA 2 CAPTAIN AMERICA 3 The last 10 in my list I love really. the other 4 are good but werent amazing in my opinion
RP Swap your last two. IM2's B-story covering Tony's alcoholism that introduced the Black f*ckin' Widow into the MCU was *far* better then IM3's B-story covering... that little kid in Tennessee? Tony and Pepper's relationship issues? The 2-story Stuffed Bunny with tits?
my current list is 1- Avengers 2- Civil War 3- Winter Soldier 4- Guardians 5- Doctor Stange 6- Age of Ultron 7-Iron Man 8- Captain America 9- Ant Man 10- Thor 11- Iron Man 3 12- Thor 2 13- Iron Man 2 14- Hulk
No man i like this order except id id move civil war to 6th or 5th if you dont like age of ultron, and move everything else up. Captain america 1 was not better then age of ultron. iron man may have been. IMO - 1. Age of Ultron - I movie i loved and no one else seemed to 2. Winter Soldier - Was my favorite movie for a while and the reason cap is my favorite avenger 3.Guardians Of The Galaxy - Biggest risk marvel took in a while and really payed off 4. Avengers - The movie that got me into collecting hot toys and into the MCU 5. Dr. Strange - A blend of many movies i love and BC did a great job, plus great effects 6, Iron Man - Great Start for the mcu and the strongest of iron man's trilogy 7. Civil war - Loved the movie, but Tony stark felt a little too sad for me. Airport battle was amazing. 8. Ant-Man - Good introduction to the character, thanks to paul rudd, but not perfect like iron man 9. Iron Man 3 - I found the mandarin funny, plus good end fight, but the last 5(ish) minutes sucked 10. Thor - good introduction with good humor, and the best marvel could do at the time, but not great 11. Captain america - The effects look far to CGI upon rewatch, but the last 10 ten minutes save it. 12. Thor TDW - Can't find major faults, pretty bad villain, but just not as good as the other movies 13. Iron man 2 - Not as bad on rewatch but still a huge disappointment, only not last because of... 14. Hulk - This Movie was really bad... It is a shame that this is considered cannon, the change of actors and design of hulk is bad, and this really has had 0 tie in except for a marvel one shot but now civil war pulled this in, sadly. No one asked for my list, but you got it xD
Ben Hoffman i love everything down to Cap 1. everything above and including Cap 1 is a 9 or 8 out of ten, so it's basically just personal placement for those.
Brandon Thompson agreed and if you ask my dad he loved cap 1 so his list would definitely very from mine its all preference normally its always 6-7 movies listed in the top 7 of every list and hulk/thor/ironman2/ThorTDW are last on most lists
cmiiw but what I got when I watched it is that the way the sorcerers like the ancient one and Strange use magic too far that they're breaking the law of nature (manipulating time and such) even if it's to save the world is against what mordo stands for and what he believes in all these time, since breaking the law of nature should've been strictly forbidden and would bring about terrible consequences (which we haven't seen what). In the end Mordo's motivation as a villain here is not to destroy the world or anything, but simply reduce the number of magicians who could potentially break the law of nature even further
Pieter Siregar If Doctor Strange hadn't done what he did, there even wouldn't be a rule that can be broken. The world would be gone to shit so Mordo is just a whiner. I can see that there will be consequences but come on, what else would have been better than what doctor strange did?
GOD DAMN IT JEREMY YOU NEED TO TALK ABOUT THE FUCKING INFINITY STONE AHHHHHHHH. I loved how out of no where Won just said yeah thats a pretty good idea lets keep the Eye of Agamotto here, after all its a safe place to keep an infinity stone hidden. at that moment in the theater i screamed WHAAAT!! they just hit us with a twist that its not just a powerful relic ITS A FUCKING INFINITY STONE OMGGG i just loved how they did that
I'll be honest, I think Doctor Strange was the most fun I had at a Marvel movie since Guardians of the Galaxy. Sure, there's been a few Marvel movies that were arguably better in terms of quality, but I think that Doctor Strange has an undeniable fun factor to it. I like a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously.
I think all of them have a nice fun factor to them, and that's a good thing as a movie should allow your audience to have fun watching it as well as be emotionally gripping. If it's dark and dreary 100% of the movie people will be bored out of their minds by the half way mark.
Cerberusballs Yeah to take a consciousness that presides over a mini universe and force it to be stuffed into one situation with Dr. Strange over and over must be quite uncomfortable xD (it talked like it was tripping, since it took it a moment to realize it was stuck in a time loop, was starting to repeat itself despite being a huge being that should be smarter than that). I liked that ending scene, we already got some good battles like at the very beggining!
The movie was so full of jokes that me and my friends started making jokes about the "dramatic" scenes that people got abit annoyed at us. We just imitated the movie.
During the “I’ve come to make a bargain” part, I immediately thought of Princess Bride when Inigo and Count Rugen are fighting and Inigo keeps repeating his famous line and Rugen is like “Stop saying that!” Lmao
This movie is a mix of many of my favorite movies of all time, including iron man (one of my favorite marvel movies), Batman Begins (my favorite of the DK trilogy) Inception (another great film) Some star wars shit (my favorite films of all time) so because of all that this is one of my favorite marvel movies. I liked it more then civil war, and i know this is odd and also fox, but i liked it more then deadpool and im only 16 lol. I would say this is my 3rd favorite marvel movie behind Age of ultron and The Winter Soldier. Thats all my opinion and i know most people don't even like age of ultron but blow me lol
That scene with Thor is IN Thor: Ragnarok. Much like how the after credits scene for Ant-Man with Cap, Bucky, and Sam was an actual scene in Civil War.
I loved the ending "fight" primarily because it wasn't a fight. Dr. Strange outsmarted his foe without actually killing anyone, and without going to the obligatory, cliché big scale final battle sequence that every Marvel movie except Civil War has done. That was refreshing. My only caveat (and its kinda small) is that Dormannu's dimension wasn't really timeless... In our dimension, time (as we observe it), is one dimensional, with one vector, that describes the progression of events. Imagine, for example, a straight line from you to your computer and whatever's behind it. We'll call that line the X-Axis. It represents a progression of objects and "locations" in space. Time, as a dimension, works the exact same way, except its a progression of _events_. Every second we go forward in time, is like taking tiny little step through a physical axis, in a physical direction. A multi-dimensional entity, or an enternal being (think along the lines of God according to a Judeo-Christian worldview), might see time less like a line progressing in one direction but rather more like the surface of a table, or whatnot-- the result of this is that they can jump about from point in time to another, in the same way that you can walk around a table and place something down on one end then go around to mess with the other end. All of time is unto such an entity as if its occurring simultaneously, and they need only traverse one direction or another. But how would a dimension where time doesn't exist work? The simple truth is that, since there is no progression of events, the event of me moving from point A to point B cannot exist. So, to exist in a timeless dimension, either I can't move at all, or I am everywhere at once. But in Dormmanu's dimension, we see quite clearly that there is a progression of event. Those planet thingies drift about, Dormannu moves and speaks, Doctor Strange moves and speaks... these are all things that occur only in dimensions with an element of time. The fact that Strange could move through that universe shows the existence of time. And we can't explain it by saying that Strange brought the concept of time to Dormannu's world completely in that sense, because if so, then the moment Strange entered and started moving, Dormannu would have realized something was wrong-- it wouldn't have taken him until the third time loop. And that changes a lot. However, I conceded that this, ultimately, is kinda pointless, because to portray Dormannu's dimension as something that's actually timeless would be nearly impossible (since we are observing it from a perspective where time is very real), and if achieved it'd likely be boring.
