You know for a couple who claims to be late to the party, you’re always one of the earliest reactors to Doctor Who

Sutekh makes The Master look like a birthday party clown. He is second only to The Beast in raw power. Sutekh could control the Doctor when he was nearly powerless. The Doctor was scared to death of Sutekh.

It's been 49 years since he was last on screen but the great one is back. Where he walks there is nothing but dust. All hail Sutekh, and may all pass under his shadow.

A lil tidbit to think about, they mention the camera being 66.7 metres away from the Church. When converted it's 73 yards 🤔

I can't believe they managed to bring back Gabriel Woolf (Voice of OG Sutekh and The Beast). He's in his 90's. Wonder if they'll confirm if The Beast was another form of Sutekh. That was speculated back in the day.

The Doctor trapped Suketh in a time corrider, and forced him to live through his lifespan, and he lived for 7000 years before he died. I hope they have a good story explaining how he survived.

That guy instantly turning to dust was horrific. It was like a cross between Donovan aging to dust in The Last Crusade and the Wheeler turning to sand in Return to Oz.

Seeing as its been 48 years, 6 months and 27 days since Sutekh's last appearance, fair enough, he waited.

Best penultimate episode of modern who history

This episode was *incendiary* imo. Absolutely incredible. Sutekh! Next week needs to get here NOW

Susan - back in 1963 - apparently came up with the name of 'Tatdis' - I'm sure she (Carole Ann Ford) is yet to come in another twist at the end.

Love that during a review of a story featuring Sutekh you have a pyramid in the background.

Doctor Who fans would know who Sutekh is from the classic Tom Baker serial. A flood of memories rushed at me when I saw the ending. They even have the original actor Gabriel Wolff performing this character again.

Sutekh is from Classic Who and the comics! The Fourth and Tenth Doctors fought him! He's supposed to be dead, killed by Dorothy Bell. SO now I'm wondering if Dorothy is Ruby's mother!

Holy moly, i cannot believe they brought back Sutekh! Another villain from classic Who. He first appeared in 4th Doctors era in a story called Pyramids of Mars. So when he’s named dropped I absolutely had a complete heart attack with Hype!! I absolutely love it when they bring back classic villains from classic who. Honestly i was over the moon! I get Ruby's mom vibes from Mrs. Flood, the fact she knew of the TARDIS, knew of the one who waits, and the fact that her comment about the growth spurt was such a mom thing to say.

Did you notice they could only pick up image of Ruby’s “mum at a point of 73 yards? I converted the metrics they used. I’m sure it’s Ruby under the hood.

Amazing episode - best in about 15 years - so mysterious, so many great characters, So much good acting, So amazing FX, can't wait for next week.

What a fantastic episode. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I thought Sutekh might be returning but I still felt the shock factor. I feel hugely empathetic towards Susan Triad; it seems that Sutekh completely used and possessed a very ordinary, very nice woman. Harriet's harbinger speech was bloody terrifying. Who is Mrs.Flood? She seemed evil here but there's just enough ambiguity, I think, to turn that around again. What if Flood is Susan and comes to save the day? But, only after letting her grandfather suffer with Sutekh a little bit for abandoning her!? She certainly seems to be a timelord since she spoke about "hiding away" in a way that mirrored the doctor's explanation of regeneration to Ruby. Sutekh has rubies in his head...I really hope for Ruby's sake that she's not Sutekh's child 😅

S**e*h is a Classic Who Villian. VERY bad news, immensely powerful even when imprisoned. Ah, and then I get to the end of the reaction.

Sutekh is an osiran well last of the osirans. He was imprisoned - he’s the only villain that appeared once in the shows history and made so much of an impact on the fans.

Remember when we fist see Flood? How she was this miserable old lady, and then when see her again at the end, she was very different...nicer and friendly, and also knew that was a TARDS.

The doctor told Ruby that time lords can change their faces to hide away. Mrs. Flood says She is always hiding herself away. Her door is tardis blue with the number 4 above it. Mrs. Flood is a Time Lord.

I love Kate so much! I really want her more in DW and I need that UNIT-spin off. I liked this episode, despite the clunky disposition at the beginning (Susan/anagram TARDIS). Fun to have all the people back from the specials! I don't know who Sutekh was/is so looking forward to the next episode! This was the only episode this season I stayed up to catch as soon as it dropped - 01.00 here in Sweden.

"The obvious" felt like Elon to me.

Someone mentioned to me that when the Doctor is explaining to Ruby how they change faces, one of the reasons he says they change is to hide away. And then Mrs. flood says that specifically that she “hides herself away” when she comes to watch over the grandmother. I think Mrs. Flood is a time Lord.

Quick thing about the discussion regarding Millie Gibson. There was a lot of speculation that Millie was leaving because of some leaked location photos of Ncuti filming with a new companion (played by the main soldier actress in BOOM - it's unknown if she's playing the same character). HOWEVER, there was an article later where RTD confirmed that this new companion would be joining the TARDIS in ADDITION to Millie Gibson and that there would be a team of 3.

It’s been confirmed that ruby will stay on as a companion for next season. They will just be adding an additional companion giving us a classic tardis trio.

Here's hoping Ruby isn't a villain. I think she's a timelord too but forgot as she was probably given a chaemlon watch to trap her own memories of being related to the doctor.

The Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith encountered him in the Pyramids of Mars. There's a scene in that story where he takes Sarah jane to the present day (1980 even though it was filmed in 1975 don't ask) but this was used in the episode with Maestro when the Doctor and Ruby do the same thing. The original voice actor Gabriel Woolf has come back to do the voice. He also voiced the Beast

I see why RTD wanted to have the new Tales of the TARDIS episode. Since they all had condensed versions of classic who stories, I think he is going to do one on Pyramids of Mars for Doctor Who fans who have not watched the story. For the fans who have not watched that part of Classic Who, I recommend to find a way to tune in for that episode.

Sutekh's power is off the charts scary. In the original 70's serial the only thing keeping him from destroying... well everything is that his brother Horus trapped him in a prison on earth that was being powered from a pyramid on Mars. He was stuck in a chair for a couple thousand years but his mental powers were crazy. He kills the first human to step inside his prison then reanimates him and uses his as a sort of avatar. At one point he states that he can keep the Doctor "alive for centuries wracked by the most excruciating pain." He threatens the Doctor with what I think is the most chilling line in the history of the show. It goes down like this: The Doctor: "Then I curse you, Sutekh, in the name of all nature. You are a twisted abhorrence." Sutekh hurts him a little. Sutekh : " Any more insolence on your part Doctor and I shall shred your nervous system into a million fibers. Is that understood." You take a somewhat goofy costume, throw in a couple a green light bulbs, the scariest sound the BBC radiophonic workshop has ever cooked up, some awesome written dialog and Gabriel Woolf's voice and you come up with the most terrifying monster ever. Some Who fans say the the most dangerous creatures are the Daleks of maybe the Cybermen. Sutekh would eat them for breakfast.

Sutekh is a 4th Doctor villian that was not able to be defeated, instead imprisoned for 7000 years. Even the 4th couldnt defeat Sutekh.

If you watched the making of documentary, the time window really was a huge projection onto 3 screens, not green screen. Pretty sure at the end they credit a character called ' Ace Sullivan', old Dr Who refs there.

That was mis-information about Ruby leaving. She’s already been seen and confirmed filming season 2. We’re just getting a second companion to join them in The TARDIS.

In my opinion, so far, this has been the best season / series (or whatever you want to call it), since the New-Who era began!! Especially because of the many recalls to many of the older classic elements, which made classic Who so great!! 😃 I'm a huge fan of the Tom Baker era, and had my theories about Sutekh being behind it somehow.... But I shrugged it off.... It was only one theory of many. I was much more a believer of the "Susan Triad is the Doctor's granddaughter" theory (And who knows?? WHO knows??!! As we all know : There's always a TWIST in the end!! 😉 ). Needless to say : My jaw dropped, when the reveal happened!!!! 😳 Hmmmm...... Guess I have to dust off "The Pyramids of Mars" now..... 🤔 It's been FAR to long since last time!! 😉

Why is it that everywhere else, the Tardis just phases into place, but at UNIT headquarters, it screeches into place like a boy racer?

For many decades Sutekh's first outing (back in the halcyon days of 4 and Sarah Jane) was hardly out of the Top Ten story lists. It's a bit of a different take on things, but it's telling that RTD had opted to call on the services of the original actor, Gabriel Woolf. It's his voice that largely carries the character, even when nothing else is happening. So whoever called this recently is probably feeling pretty smug right now!

As a viewer I kind of loved the feeling of working things out the same time as the characters.

I love how new who followers have no idea who Sutehk is. Its about time classic who followers get something they can relate too. I LOVED THIS EPISODE.

My theory is that Ruby's mother might be Jenny, and that she saved her daughter using the chameleon arch to escape the purge from The Master striking down on Galifrey.

When ever RTD (or Moffat when he is running a show) makes a point to say something will not happen, don't believe it. I can't believe I fell for it again. He said there would be no old monsters. Then Sutekh comes back. I guess that was the twist we were to get at the end.

Ah, Sutekh. Only RTD would make the first season of a show on Disney+ have the big bad be a villain who first and last appeared on television in a serial in 1975 which isn't available on Disney+. (Weirdly I got more of a buzz out of the namechecking of The Mara. Which isn't a criticism, more an acknowledgement of how much I love the Mara)

I'm pretty sure that "the obvious" when it comes to "evil billionaires with alien tech" is either a reference to the villain from Spyfall, who seemingly escaped without being brought to justice, or a jab at Elon Musk.

No, the rumor about Millie leaving was just gossip spread by a tabloid, the new companion was announced and they went with that story for gossip's sake. Millie is staying with the new companion joining them next season.

I have a theory... I wonder if Ruby is not from this timeline as well, maybe she is Sutekh's queen in a different timeline or she has some kind of power to end this.
