I don't like the idea that the silurians made Cybermen. That kind of defeats the point of the cybermen - that we've done this to ourselves. That becoming a cyberman is just the final step in human evolution, in our fear of death and ever growing addiction to technology.

At least with the Lumic cybermen a man who occupies the same position of power as the Mondasian leaders does it.

02:04 I have to take a deep breath in and centre myself being reminded they were called that. If I ever meet Gary Russell he's getting a lecture about how taxonomic naming works that's been waiting 27 years and counting lol

I would LOVE to see a Cyber-Silurians in the show's future, would be amazing to design I bet.

Silurians are roughly humanoid in shape, I'm pretty sure the cyber conversion would just make them look like Cybermen.

It’s always disappointed me that The Doctor has written the Cybermen off as lesser creatures to be slaughtered. No matter The iteration or story, The Doctor nearly never tries to even attempt to understand or help the Cybermen except for exterminating them. Perhaps someday The Doctor might stop the Cybercide.

He probably sees them as a twisted mockery of what life should be But, I like it that the Foctor doesn't always see things as we do. We forget that he isn't human

Great work on this, even with the spoilers I'm going to dive on into this. After "World Enough and Time" had aired the Doctor Who Experience were going to play "The Doctors Falls" on a big screen. We decided to NOT watch it until we were at the Experience. Whilst waiting we heard a lady discussing the story so we asked her, as nicely as we could, not to as we hadn't seen it. She burst into a grin and said: "Boy are you in for a treat!". There were Cybermen all over the place and I had one of the Cyber facial prosthetics put on so we were totally primed for it.... One of our favourite stories and episodes of all time (even though I'm a Dalek nut)! After going 4 times (from Sheffield to Cardiff even camping in the carpark over night once!) we were crushed when the staff told us it was shutting down (though, with Whitaker/Chinballs period, it may have been a mercy killing!).

The Cybermen are my favorite Who Villains and I had no idea this comic existed so it was fun to learn more of Mondas’ history.

I'd long theorized that the arrival of the moon when the Silurians went into hibernation dislodged Mondas. Had no idea about the comic. This idea makes the most sense and fits canon. Question where were the Ice Warriors on Mars during all of this? Hartnell knew about mondas in 10th Planet so we never found out what exactly he knew. Did any early Mondasians escape like the Thals from Skaro

The backstory seems to suggest the Ice Warriors were around at least as far back as the Pliocene, which is when their Industrial Revolution happened, so I don’t think they had evolved at that time.

I wonder if Golgoth’s son became the giant cyberman head that Rassilon fled to after being kicked out of Gallifrey in Supremacy of the Cybermen. Golgoth could have sent his son out into space to create a chain of events that would lead to all of time itself becoming Cybermen

Immanuel Velikovsky was a Jewish, Russian-American psychoanalyst and writer, who authored several books offering pseudohistorical interpretations of ancient history, including the U.S. bestseller Worlds in Collision (published in 1950). In his writings, he argued the case for Venus having been a comet that passed by the Earth on several occasions before settling into its current circular orbit. Facts going for this are that Venus is the only planet in the Solar System that rotates clockwise about its access, its surface is crater-free (for which all sorts of arguments are given about surface renewal at some "recent point in time"), it has the most circular of all the orbits, its magnetotail is extraodinarily long (stretching all the way to the orbit of the Earth) , its atmosphere is high in carbon dioxide (with higher than expected levels of methane close to the surface) and its surface temperature is much higher than it should be for a planet shrouded by thick, sun reflecting clouds. He also argued that this close passing of Venus happened in the last 3-4 thousand years, mainly to fit in with the proposed timeline of the stories and myths from the bible: it was this attempt to place Venus as a comet within the last 3-4 thousand years that caused his interpretations to be ultimately rejected: that it was possibly a comet, however, was not rejected. Instead, others looked at mythic tales from around the world, looking for any evidence that one or more cosmic cataclysms had occured within human history. The result? There is very compelling evidence that such cataclysms were witnessed and passed on in oral traditions in ways that would resonate with those listening, as well as in petroglyphs (such as the squatter man form - glyphs that very accurately represent plasma column instabilities from which we get concepts such as "the stairway to heaven"). Of particular interest is the period around the Younger Dryas period and the mega flora / mega fauna extinction event of that period, and evidence that there was, indeed, a period of heavy bombardment of lighter comets at this time (following often conflicting paths but mainly North West-South East and North East-South West) and catastrophic flooding "from the North", something that fits in with the ancestral claims that the Sun was not Earth's original star (rather, a sub-brown dwarf was, one that wandered into and ultimately merged with the Sol system) - see The Saturn Myth for more details and, more poetically: The Electric Sun Saturn Mythology Series Part 1 Chapter 1 Purple Dawn; The Electric Sun Saturn Mythology Series Part 1 Chapter 2 The Golden Age; The Electric Sun Saturn Mythology Series Part 1 Chapter 3 Doomsday. Having said all this, I thoroughly enjoyed your Doctor Who - Horrors Of Mondas, Parts 1 and 2 - and maybe the concept of wandering planets is not as far fetched as it would seem!
