Some of the continuity between programmes for Doctor Who Night, 13th November 1999, presented by Tom Baker. Includes Jim Al-Khalili on the physics behind the Tardis.
It makes sense doesn't it, especially when you note how big his console room is here. Plus it certainly suggests that the Curator lived a very long time, since for a Time Lord it would have taken centuries to age from this look to how he looks in Day Of The Doctor.
I heard Tom Baker say once that "I had a major problem with the TARDIS being bigger on the inside - I didn't think it was big enough. You know you could fit st Paul's cathedral in there!" And then one day in 1996 we practically saw some attempt to fit a cathedral inside. And then we got this! For one night. To borrow a line from someone with a slight resemblance to the first Doctor, "muuuch better."
5:06 Did they have 80s Cybermen recreate the St Paul shot from The Invasion just for this ad? That’s, for lack of a better descriptor, absolutely fantastic!
Very nice upload, just a shame there's a few missing bits (namely the recap of the previous episodes of "the Daleks" and Tom Baker's final ident just before the TV movie started)
I remember this. It was to precede the Paul Mcgann movie premiere. i still have it on VHS somewhere i think. As it turned out it was a good evening ruined by the Paul Mcgann movie.
The McGann movie premiered in 1996, this was a Doctor Who night in 1999. Although you're partly right - it was the first time they had shown the movie unedited (as it had been heavily cut down on its 1996 screening).
