Yes; Capaldi is the Doctor a grown-up for the grown-ups, and what a beauty! There are many DW fans who have been watching since the show started (Capaldi himself, for a start). Some of them have bitterly resented the "growing up" of the Doctor that Moffat and Capaldi presented, feeling I think that their childhood loyalty was being betrayed. But for me, now in my late seventies, 12's story is my story, and the story of my friends -- win some, lose some, do the best you can while slowly, around you, people you love die one by one (until it's your turn); and if the world grows better, it also grows worse, but you still try your best anyway -- because. Just effing gorgeous. Thanks for this tribute.

He even reminds me of 3 when he battles the cybermen with his upgraded sonic, flouncy cuffs flapping as he pulls action man spins and poses. Its like he saved up all his Doctor-ness for the final battle.

He was just a pure and honest and loyal doctor. After the deaths of the Ponds he was just so hurt. First I hated Capaldi but the more I rewatch Doctor Who the more I love him. Now he is one of the doctors. In my Opinion... ❤️

Honestly I’d all of them had a number of duds. I think there’s a certain unfair bias viewers have when comparing RTD’s and Moffat’s era. It’s a show. Each actor had good episodes and bad ones and mediocre ones (of course I’d say each had more good than bad, but still some bad). I don’t care about the duds because the Magician’s apprentice, witch’s familiar, heaven sent, hell bent (to a certain extent; it’s now the first and last Gallifrey episode in new who so it automatically gets love from me no matter how little about Gallifrey it was), the husbands of river song, way more of series 10 than I expected, world enough time, the doctor falls (if you ask me the best series finale thus far, but opinion), and twice upon a time are some of my favorite stories in all of Doctor Who. He can have as many duds as he wants if his good ones are the contenders for “best episode in the show’s history”. I loved Capaldi’s Doctor and am still sad he’s gone. Honestly I tried to give Chibnall and 13 a chance but they get no sentiment from me. I never needed every episode to be good or even okay. I just needed that one really good episode that made 13 look remotely good. “It takes you away” was almost it in series 11, but Chibnall couldn’t give any focus to the good and remotely original idea he had the whole series. Series 12 nearly had it with it “can you hear me” if not for that insulting line from the Doctor at the end. ANY OTHER DOCTOR WOULD HAVE SAID THE PERFECT THING TO HELP THEIR FRIEND. Yes they’re socially awkward, but that never stopped the thousand year old universe traveling timelord from bestowing wisdom and good advice before. Then the series 12 finale just showed that when Chibnall gets it wrong, its not just a bad episode or even a contender for “worse episode ever”; it actually rips up 50+ years of great stories, takes a shit on it, lights it on fire, and then has the gall to be the most boring and poorly episode ever that brings home how 1d the doctor and her companions are after 2 series.

Same here Tennant is my fav one, and Capaldi was not really in my top since this season (I discovered that the problem [for me] wasn't 12th but Clara), and when Bill arrived with Nardole, it became one of my favorite season, and Capaldi one of my favorite doctor. Saying good bye to all of them starts me off. People say they have their favourite doctor. But I just have me favourite moments from all of them. Because they all do something the others can't. And it is heartbreaking when they leave the show because they all contribute something to the doctor that others cannot. This is why I'm not sure how a female doctor will go. I'm hoping they show something truly unique with this new doctor
