I already loving this new era. I like how they are introducing the new fans to it just like we were introduced to it in 2005. It does feel like a new generation of Doctor Who.
I like how this episode was the opposite of what I thought it was gonna be because I thought it was gonna be a musical episode where Maestro locked the world into constant musical so honestly the fact that it was the opposite and then having this fun blast at the end i absolutely loved it ❤️
I'm similar. I was going into this expecting this to be Doctor Who's equivalent of Subspace Rhapsody (Star Trek Strange New Worlds musical episode), it wasn't, but it was still a fun ride.
@NevByte I think it's probably a good thing that it wasn't a musical, given that Subspace Rap was barley a year ago. I know it wouldn't be (for the simple fact that production times are too long) but it could come over as a bit of a copy if Dr Who then did one. Still waiting for the Dr who/Trek crossover ngl
I love the cheesy ending. It’s clear to me that RTD is leaning towards classic doctor who in terms of campiness and I’m all for it. Now granted he’s turning it up to eleven but it’s actually really refreshing since for the past decade the doctor has always been portrayed as this super serious character with a little bit of humor kinda like spider-man. Though I understand why people don’t like the ending I can’t help but love its cheesiness. Probably my favorite episode so far.
Why’s that screech noise from The Goblin Song show up in this at 0:34 and 1:17? I don’t know why it bothers me, but it does. The whole track could’ve used a lot more 60s flair imo. Still very excited about this new era. Ncuti is absolutely brilliant
It’s a sample Murray just likes using, probably could’ve been balanced better but it’s good in the goblin song in all honestly. Here it maybe could’ve been taken out
I thought it would have been way better if the musical was integrated to the battle against the Maestro with the Beatles finding the lost Chord at the end of the song and defeating them
@@Teh_GoatBeatles charge too much money for someone to sing a cover on tv, same reason why toymaker couldn’t sing spice up your life (that’s revealed in novelisation )
@@OswinPondthat’s what I was thinking it would be from the trailer. I can just imagine Maestro standing in the middle of it looking confused and horrified as one by one the correct notes to defeat them are played.
undercooked episode, literally should have had Maestro be defeated by people in the 1960s discovering music again and coming together to sing. all the effort of the dancers and choreography for a disconnected lame meta joke with music with an awful thin mix. 5.5/10 could do so much better oh well Boom looks a bit miserable and violent in that unleashed teaser, cautiously optimissic
I still enjoy the song at the end but I don’t want them to go overboard with it. I was alright with The Doctor and Ruby singing in the Christmas episode because they give them a reason why they were saying. I don’t want them to try to turn Doctor Who into a musical and that. I don’t want the, to make it to cheesy and that. 😂
My impression was opposite - the episode asked for a musical moment like this at its end and the choreography was great, but the song itself is just... not so good. Came here to give it another chance and listen with no visuals, but nope, still disappointingly underwhelming. It feels like there's only enough good material in this song for max. half of its runtime.
I literally had to turn off the tv due to how fucking awful this moment was the rest of the episode was okay but was just all over the place. Everything was cool up until they came back to the 60s
