My opinion on the episodes: 1. Space babies. I thought it was a normal episode with a regular story, not so special. The truth is that the idea of having babies that talk was a bad idea for me from the first moment the first baby appeared. I liked the design of the monster. But overall it was a good episode. 2. The devil's chord. I liked this episode, entertaining from start to end. The Beatles showed up! although they didn't have as much presence as other historical characters in other episodes. The Maestro was fantastic throughout the episode and she had proved that she was powerful and could be scary (something the toymaker for me didn't show, he was more of a spectacle). One of my favorite scenes was when the Doctor and Ruby changed clothes. But I wasn't too convinced by the musical at the end. I like that every episode they keep throwing in unanswered questions and mystery (Who is the one wait? Amy , is that you?!). Fun fact: My first language is Spanish and when she said her name was ‘Maestro’, I thought the Maestro was ‘The Master’ as that means "Master" in Spanish, so until the Doctor said she was staying with the legion of the Toymaker I thought the Maestro was the Master haha.
So glad it's finally back! Gotta say, Space Babies was a decent opener, I'm glad it wasn't a 50 minute intense world ending episode and just a bit of comedic fun. Devil's Chord however was bloody great, Jinx was fantastic as Maestro, and I loved the link back to the Toymaker and episode by episode I'm getting more hyped about the One Who Waits. I thought Ncuti was incredible and can't wait for more
I agree with you fully, Maestros articulation and play with tone was awesome and menacing, and I hated the musical number, it was unbelievable, no reason, it wasnt magic, id have saved that for dvd or behind the scenes maybe, didnt need a heavy ending but youre right I wanted more contemplation on the legions, the doctor has just realized he is up against 'gods', maybe we will see more of that soon, the time jump to july was a bit weird too but we will see, im so happy its back and that youre covering it again with such honesty and personal reflection unlike many other reviewers. I like the new magicness, I didnt think I would but its interesting. Thanks again for your thoughts, keep up the good work.
They should have committed to the idea a little more. I agree. Originally I was going to show my friends those first two, but I’m not sure what they’ll think of me if they sing a really grating song
