You missed out one thing in the bingo list, there was a brief visual mention of mavity when 15 is showing Ruby the name of the planet it shows the planet's mavity as one of the stats

Okay, I don't know whether you read the comments ever, but, as Mark Gatiss pointed out recently while accepting an Olivier Award, his last name is pronounced with a long A (like in "gate") and Davies (in the case of RTD) is pronounced the same as Davis. (I base this on how it is pronounced in the _Doctor Who_ promotional material from his first run, which I think would have been checked and how people who've worked with him say it).

What did you guys think of Space Babies?

Space Babies felt like the most Disney-esque version of an episode. Ncuti/Millie are keeping me interested but the plot here was very thin. I like your point Crispy that the revelation of Ruby may overshadow her character a bit, and I have that fear also. For me it's a 5/10!

I rewatched Rose. Now THAT was a first episode. RTD has changed over the years

I watched Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steel today and and the Doctor blows on the battery thingy from the TARDIS giving away 10 years of his life to recharge it. Could that be what he did to the butterfly?

Well, they should watch "Ruby Road" before "Space Babies" if they want to start with Fifteen.

Technically if Rose was given her key at the end of End of the World then it would be the equivalent as its first trip, second meeting. I assumed the bogeyman was going to remain under Jocelyn's care with the babies as they became refuges, they're 6 year old babies with no parents she's already going to remain looking after them so why can't they keep it too!

I wasn't expecting the Sleep No More comparison. My mind also jumped to the Capaldi Era, but with Kill the Moon. Not great that this is getting compared to two of the greatest duds in Capaldi's era.

I didn’t think the butterfly thing was regeneration energy, just the doctor giving cpr to a butterfly, cuz he’s weird like that

I got to say crispy song about space babies was better than the actually episode

I was really hoping it'd be good, and was cautiously optimistic for the series, whilst 15 and Ruby are clearly great fun and I have a fantastic rapport they couldn't save this episode. Aside from that it was RTD at his worst, and personally for me, borderline unwatchable, he had one concept 'talking babies in space' and it just wasn't good enough. I fear that instead of getting me to fall back in love with the show it's pushed me further away. Episode 3 will be the deciding factor for me this season. 2/10 (Would have been a 1, but a bonus point simply because the two leads are good) (Forgot to say, laughed more at the ending song than at the podcast jokes in the actual epsiode)

Re the time gap… it’s still poor plotting as we, the viewer, only know what we see. So when Ruby says “you never hide” feels wrong based on what we actually know. Yes, an 8 episode show may need speed run the shows history, but many, many current shows are 7 or 8 episodes long but tell their stories over the run. I need to rewatch Rose to see how silly the bin was in comparison to the silliness of Space Brats. I’m still telling myself this season is in a pocket universe due to Mavity, fourth wall breaks and fantasy creatures. In the hope that the next run is more interesting from a genre pov. Also hoping Boom is ‘serious’. That they reduce the shrill.

I feel the short series has meant having to rush everything in at the start and was hit jarring. If we had a longer one then this could be the second and The Devil's Chord as the fourth, as it felt there needed to be another between them. I think The Church On Ruby Road acts more of an opener.

everything looks fantastic and I think the cast did an excellent job, but there's always a but I think the show has changed its demographic to a younger demo the show always had somewhat of a adult overview but this is strictly is pointing toward a kids show maybe I'm wrong I'm a die heart Whovian so I'll see with more episodes coming. You both gave it a 6 you both are to kind 3.5 just for the performance of the cast out of 10 👎 (this is my option) Still love the show
