And it turns out it's not her who's crazy, it's just you who aren't special enough to remember someone who's been completely erased from reality. Also you're still single.
Actually, there is an episode from 1966 that suggests the entire universe the Doctor inhabits was created by the Celestial Toymaker, so that wouldn't be so different.
I actually have a brother-in-law named Rory. He's a nurse too. Gets a lot of Doctor Who jokes at work he told me. He's also never seen the show. Not joking, that's seriously true.
He's not uninterested, he just hasn't seen it. Haven't really gotten the chance anyway. The only time we actually hung out alone together come to think of it is when we went together to get our haircuts for his and my sister's wedding.
I wish it was that easy. First, I don't really get along with my sister well. Second, she doesn't like this kind of show. Third he's busy a lot both with work and their 1 year old son, my godson.
Happy birthday Karen Gillian you evil redhead time travel companion. You're on my top three favorite time travel companions along with Billie Piper and Jenna Coleman.
Doctor: Amelia, from now on, I'll be leaving the kissing to the brand new Mr. Pond. Rory: Hahah-- _no_ ! I'm not Mr. Pond--that's not how it works! Doctor: Yeah it is. Rory: .....yyyeah, it is. Bruh. I'm _deceased_ af.
To me this is one of the greatest scenes in the history of Doctor Who. I love how Amy "remembers" the Doctor back into existence, I love how Rory is the one who notices the precursors of the Doctor's return and knows Amy must be onto something even tho he can't remember the Doctor yet, and also how he admits that, yes, he know he is "Mr. Pond." It's just a masterful, climactic scene!
You probably already had this answered, but for those late to the party: Actually, Plastic is the right word. He was literally plastic, well Auton...He was Roman Plastic! Just watch the Pandorica arc.
She#s Scottish, she's always gonna be crazy. The good thing here is that now everyone in her life has to apologise to her for 20ish years of disbelief and therapy.
I always wondered how River knew to give the journal to Amy. The last Christmas episode answered that question. "I'm an archaeologist from the future." She dug them up.
+sundragonra412 I always disliked her because of this. I don't know why, I never liked amy-the first time I noticed was when she tried to kiss the doctor.
TristanandIsolt she tried to sleep with him on like...the third episode whe was there with him? tell me again to get my head out of the gutter please, how am I wrong?
+Cornelia Hanimann I sure don't remember her trying to have sex with the Doctor if that is what you mean by sleeping with. I never get why people call sex sleeping. If she did was she in a relationship with Rory at the time? If not no problem with her wanting to have sex with the Doctor.
TristanandIsolt she was engaged with him. she was sitting with the doctor on her bed and looking at the wedding dress, telling him that she's going to be married tomorrow, and tried to kiss him a couple times. jesus christ, do you really think so low of me that my sentence conused you so much? I'll link it. wait a second
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. "Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I *borrowed* it. I was always going to take it back. Oh, that box... Amy, you'll dream about that box. It'll never leave you. Big, and little, at the same time. Brand *new,* and *ancient.* And the *bluest blue* ever. And the times we had, hey. Woulda had. Never had. In your dreams, I'll still be there. The Doctor, and Amy Pond. And the days that never came." (The Doctor's story, The Big Bang)
It never felt right to me that Rory wasn't remembering alongside Amy. I always had hope that he wouldn't turn into a Mickey Smith, and I loved it when he was a centurion as it showed him as a stronger and more passionate character that wasn't a third wheel.
But he didn't grow up with the crack. Amy did, which was why she remembered. I do wish Rory had played a more active role later considering that he came equipped with weapons now.
+yendor900 I found the scene where Doctor Who was supposedly a stripper. He popped out of a box to the classic stripper song but he didn't remove a single article of clothing.
I jumped out of a cake. It was awful to see that half-naked woman sitting in there so I offered to take her place so she could go home and have something to wear.
Except you did _not_ tell her to go home, and she was clearly outside, half-naked and pretty cold, and all you did about it was tell somebody else to give her a coat. Blimey, you're a big sod, you know that?
The Doctor brought back Amy's parents when he rebooted the universe because he knew she needed them, and she brought The Doctor back to the universe because she knew it needed him.
Amy: "When I was a kid I had an imaginary friend" Everyone: "Oh no not this again" Amy: "I remember You! I REMEMBER!" Everyone: "She's absolutely crazy" Amy: "Raggedy Man You are late for my Wedding!" Everyone: "Oh god when will it ev-" Tardis appears Everyone: "What the Hell!?" Doctor: "Hello Everyone! I'm Amy's imaginary friend" Everyone: "We complete utter fools"
Amy: "to all of my friends and family gathered, the best wedding present you could give me is an APOLOGY!" Rory: Dear, I rather like the money presents..." Amy: "Shut up, Pond!" Rory: "Yeah, that's how it works."
That isn't very uncommon in some cultures. Just saying, if you get married and have your bridal shower in Scotland, you'll get a chamber pot (toilet) with sand in it and you go out and collect pennies in the pot in exchange for kisses. The more pennies you get, the happier your marriage will be. See the movie Made of Honor... Other countries and cultures have different traditions. Also; different couples are OK with different things.
"Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue..." One of the best lines in Doctor Who via a companion. Damn, I miss the Matt Smith timeline.
Everyone here is saying how awkward it would have been if the Doctor didn't show up and I'm here thinking It would have been very awkward if the Doctor did kiss Amy
Right? It made me really dislike her. She's already trying to have an affair before the ceremony is even over lol. Whereas Rory waited THOUSANDS of years for her. Wtf is wrong with her?
Rory and Amy's relationship has always been kinda... Weird to me. There are some episodes where I just think "Wow Amy, you're dick." and Others where I think they have some of the most beautifully romantic moments in all of Sci Fi.
Skylar Ward I'm all caught up. Their send off was one of the most romantic moments. But when I go back and watch them again there are just some moments where I can't help but think "Jeez Amy, no need to be so harsh."
Yeah I understand that. I always thought that Amy kind of took Rory for granted until the episode that Amy gives birth. When Amy was talking to baby River about the man who will always be there, I was sure it was about the Doctor but it was really about Rory. From then on I knew how much she loved him and I agree that their goodbye was so romantic.
Well she is, Amy gave birth to River, therefore being able to receive the gift from the Doctor, probably from the past of Amy, the one that died, and then gave to River when season 5 Amy was around. #Paradox?
The brilliance of this bit of writing, the story of how the Doctor stole the Tardis was nearly 50 years old at this point, and he always insisted that he "borrowed" it, it being a time machine it is always something old and something new, and the old wedding tradition is even older than the show. It feels almost crazy that it wasn't intentional from the very start, this bit of writing is that good.
Ayla Alya The Aunt was away/asleep in The Eleventh Hour, but since Amy remembered her parents into existence, and therefore wouldn't be living with her aunt, they have technically never met.
I think of this scene a lot. Specifically. I know in context it's different, but Amy inexplicably crying and confusedly saying "I'm sad. I'm really really sad," it really hits home when I'm having a bad mental health day. Depression is cruel. Wouldn't it be nice if it was me remembering something good that I shouldn't and that solving the problem.
''bad mental health day''? What is this, some kindergarden term? If you have a bad day, you don't have depression yet. Or at least not as severe one. Do you know how it is to be crushed by it for days, weeks, month on end? How it sucks all lifeforce out of you, leaves you with nothing but acute agony but no energy to even describe how you feel or do anything at all for that matter... THAT'S what deression is and not just ''bad day''!
She has proved time and time again, expecially in the later seasons that she will always love Rory in the end. She may find th Doctor attractive... but I do not think she'll ever ever cheat on his husband. Rory loves Amy and has waited her for 2000 years, but in truth, Amy too has always demonstrated and unconditional and passionate love for him. See The Girl Who Waited or The Asylum of the Daleks for further proof of that. She's not Rose.. which to me was much MUCH more of a slut than Amy. She basically abandoned her boyfriend to go with a stranger she just met and did it right in front of him. And plus, when she returned she did nothing but treat Mickey in a shitty way fooling him that maybe he still could have had a chance.. Rose was the worst.
Language, and... "but I do not think she'll ever ever cheat on his husband" 3:27 Yeah. Sure. _Never_ gonna cheat on *her* husband. And as for Rose, she didn't exactly abandon her boyfriend. She just left to go for a trip, the trip of a lifetime. It's not like she went and bumped uglies with The Doctor, now did she? Sure, when she returned, she didn't treat him very nicely, but then again, neither did he.
I skipped watching Matt Smith's seasons for a while because he seemed too young, but I watched a random episode of it and realized he's just impossibly charismatic as The Doctor.
This whole story arc is an amazing feat of writing, how it all ties in. I am envious. The most romantic aspect is Rory waiting 2000 years for Amy, watching over her, guarding her from harm. Not hard to imagine that kind of devotion.
These double episodes (about the Pandorica) were so engaging. Some fans have disagreed with the new overall twists and turns that Moffatt had brought to Doctor Who, but I think his writing always had a deeper sophistication and humanity to it than most of the previous writers.
One of my favorite scenes during 11s run. Everything comes together and Karen's delivery of "something blue" gives me the feels every time. I miss when this show was about something. Seasons 11-13 feel so passionless.
Not even a day after their marriage and Amy Pond is already trying to cheat on her husband, Rory Pond. Tells you a lot about the married couple's relationship in the future.
its called exemptions/exceptions when it is the doctor, she tried to have sex with the doctor/she offered herself sexually to the doctor right after he came back when she was an adult and he took her with him. I may be a little off on this but after he took her with him, she was wearing a red skirt and she basically said this "did you just take me with you so you could have sex" and then she tried to make moves on him to have sex with the doctor
This is my favorite scene of any television show, and watching this scene is tingle city for me. I have probably watched this scene over 100 times. If you like this you should also watch Matt Smith regenerating.
The bit I love about that scene is the monumental guilt that her mother must have gone through for not believing that Amy's imaginary friend was actually real!
Am I the only one who raged when Rory went “iT’s ThE dOcToR!! hOw CoUlD wE fOrGeT tHe DoCtOr?!” I was like BISH YOU TRAVELLED WITH HIM, DIED LIKE 2725267272717 TIMES AND ROASTED A FISH PERSON!!! “He WaS a StRiPpEr At My StAg”
I just now realized when Rory mentioned "the old saying" when talking about River's diary, he was also referring to the rhyme Amy used to describe the TARDIS
this is still my very favourite scene in whole Doctor Who series. I can't fully explain that but "somthing old, something new, something borrowed, something blue" moment excites me so much!
