His first conversation with Clara was on the TARDIS phone... just like his last.

"it's 1207" "I've got half past three. Am I phoning a different time zone?" "Yeah you really sort of are" "Will it show up on the bill?" "I dread to think..." honestly that was one of the best exchanges in the entire season. Jenna and Matt were such a great duo XD

A 1500 year old Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey, the man who can make entire armies turn and run at the mention of his name, the oncoming storm, the Doctor of War: "You have clicked on the wifi button haven't ya?" The way he just turns into a computer helpline rather than hanging up kills me 😂

I like how Clara was just gonna start talking to customer support with “I can’t find the internet”

Dammit every time I watch these clips, I wanna rewatch the entire episode, but then I wanna rewatch the entire series leading up to that episode. Then I watch a clip from a different series and wanna skip ahead or go back and rewatch that ENTIRE series.

It's interesting how Clara went from someone who doesn't know how to connect to the Internet to one of the most intelligent and capable companions the Doctor has ever had.

I love the little sprinkles of personality Matt Smith gave to Eleven. You CANNOT convince me that him looking back at the monk and gesturing to the phone like "can you BELIEVE this?!?" was in the script.

I like how he parked the TARDIS literally right in front of her house and was still wearing his monk robe… Typical Doctor, and yes, I'm sure any Doctor would do that :)

My grandad was 24 when Doctor Who first started broadcasting in 1963. He used to watch it with my dad when he was growing up in the 1970s-1980s. When this episode first broadcast in 2013, I was staying the night at my grandparents house, and we watched it on TV. By that point, he hadn't watched an episode of Doctor Who in years, and this episode was the first he'd seen of the revival series. He approved of Matt Smith's casting as a younger, quirky and funny version of the Doctor, as well as the self-aware humour that came with enjoying hearing "Doctor Who?" be asked out loud. It genuinely made him laugh. My grandad is gone now, but I'll forever cherish the memory of watching this episode with him and my grandmother at their house, and exposing him to the new series and Matt Smith's doctor.

Wait, if Clara got 11's number from "the woman in the shop", then that must be the same woman who gave her 12's location in "Deep Breath", which means that Missy was trying to bring the two together from much early on from when they first met. Sneaky little Missy.

Also see when he looks in the mirror "checking to see if i regenerated in my sleep again......"

I JUST CRACKED AN EASTER EGG!!! When Clara was uploaded (but the Doctor saved her), you realize that girl who uploads her was actually in a book. But look at that book closely. It was written by Amelia Williams. Amelia Pond married Rory Williams making her name Amelia Williams so she wrote the book!!

Matt will always be my Doctor. Wasn't that just the grandest moment when he was so excited about Clara saying Doctor Who?

The Doctor enjoys hearing the title of his own TV show. If only we could tell him how much we also enjoy hearing and watching DOCTOR WHO!

Clara was the doctor's only companion to see three versions of him. One of the many reasons she's called the impossible girl.

I like the implication that even if it wasn't Clara but just someone random who stumbled upon his number he still would have sat there and try to sort their problem

That episode is on my top 10, maybe top 5 list of best episodes. Clara and the 11th are a perfect match!

Matt makes an adorable floppy hair monk. His hair was all natural and messy and his twitchiness and goofiness just adds to the charm.

she did the "thing". Most of the time, he'll say "I'm the Doctor" and they'll say "Doctor What" but no. Not our Clara Oswin Oswald she did the thing.

I will say this again, Matt Smith is by far my favorite doctor. He is just such an underrated actor. The key to playing the doctor is to have range, by range I mean to be able to portray a wide variety of emotions, from sad, to angry, and from happy to sad. Imo he also has a better chemistry with Clara than 11 did, or rather a different kind of energy. With 11 it was more of a role model type of character but with Matt it they were a little more equal. Maybe the fact that actors were the same throws me off. I really enjoyed the flirty kind of relationship where they both push and pull

Before this, the only person who ever was able to call the TARDIS phone was the empty child, so it sorta makes sense why the doctor is so freaked out before picking up

Unanswered mysteries in this scene: 1: Who gave Clara the Doctor's number? (Until we get an answer I'm guessing Sally Sparrow from Blink, given she's a "woman in a shop" we know. Knowing Moffat, though, the real answer could either be infinitely better or infinitely more contrived and convoluted.) 2: How does the TARDIS' exterior phone even receive calls in the first place? As we saw back in The Empty Child, that phone is a fake and isn't even connected to anything. Maybe that changed when the TARDIS changed designs in 2010 or 2013, but maybe not only is Clara calling the TARDIS across time via a number from a mysterious shopkeeper but is also calling a phone that by all means should not work. 3: Why did the call reach the Doctor only at that point in time? Considering the call goes across centuries it could easily have reached the Doctor at any other point in his life. Why right then? I'm assuming we won't ever get a canonical answer for this one because the obvious answer is "because otherwise the Doctor wouldn't meet Clara," but I'd like to think there's a little more to it than simple writing convenience. Anyway I'm really glad we get Clara for at least another series and I'm sort of glad Moffat's sticking around to clean up his own mess because there's still a ton of questions that need answering.

"The woman in the shop" told Clara to call that number because it was the greatest helpline out there... Rose worked in a shop, which she complained about a lot...

Love Amy. Love Clara. Matt Smith was truly blessed.

Matt broke the 4th, 5th, and 6th walls with that "Doctor Who" recitation shtick. Very clever, Moffat!

Clara's gone now, so watching her very first episode is an excellent idea.

I still don't get how she managed to click on the wrong WiFi the second time while looking at the screen. Heck, the WiFi name is shown in the password prompt & it isn't small that she could miss it, so she could have easily noticed, go "Oops, clicked on the wrong WiFi", closed the password prompt and clicked on the right WiFi. It would have at least made sense if Maitland_Family WiFi was the only one shown and in the first attempt that was the actual Maitland_Family WiFi but on her second attempt, when she clicks the WiFi icon again to see the connections, it shows only Maitland_Family, same as before, but this time for a split second it glitches and reveals the name of the other WiFi connection before showing Maitland_Family again. That way, we could at least say that Clara might have missed out on that glitch or she simply thought her eyes were playing tricks on her

The 11th Doctor is SO vain! lol. "I never knew how much I enjoyed hearing that said out loud!" The BEST Matt Smith scene is just after this when he saves the jetliner though!

The Tardis routed the call.Seeing as how the tardis is sentient, and the fact it know about all of time and space, it obviously knew who Clara was, and routed the call to The Doctor.Despite the tardis not liking Clara.

i absolutley love how they possibly may have set up for Missy's (The Mistress) for a later big reveal in Capaldi's regeneration. If they planned it I am mind blown and amazed.

That line was written on the board towards the end of the Clara's last episode. It said "Run you clever boy" and the "and remember" bit was not there because the Doctor forgot her

After watching the later episodes of series 7b, including the name of the doctor that resolves the Clara mystery, I come back here and laugh at the hysteria of how Doctor met Clara or how Clara became the impossible girl.

Looking back at this, how the hell did Clara go from a girl that couldn't even connect to the Wi-Fi to one of the most smartest companions in the show?

They had such a natural chemistry. I took Capaldi a season to develop that kind of chemistry

I have no problem with daleks, cybermen, time lords, weeping angels, tardis, Scottish werewolves, Italian vampires, Shakespearian witches, Dickensian ghosts, murder-mystery alien wasps and disappearing-mystery alien bees. Wasp and bees mysteries having no connection but still occurring in a single series. But the idea a British 24 year old student studying to be an English teacher in 2013, wouldn’t know how to work a computer gives new meaning to the phrase “impossible girl” Did moffat forget that this was a different Clara than the one from the previous episode set in 1892.
