I don't think people realized how much Capaldi had grown on them until he was gone. If ever there was a man meant to be the Doctor, it was him. Those final words were so incredibly meaningful for Capaldi, letting go of his life-long dream.

The novelization adds additional layers of sadness to this episode. One of the reasons #1 doesn't want to change? He wanted to return to Susan with the face she remembers, and guess who he was thinking of when testimony told him "You may speak to her again."

When 10 and 11 regenerated girls (and some boys) cried. When 12 regenerated MEN and WOMEN cried. Capaldi was amazing, and his doctor was the best!

Not lies! Tennant was my fave Doctor. Matt was good and Capaldi made probably the best Doctor if he was compared to classic Doctors but had a bad run of weak episodes. But yes, i agree that EVERYBODY cried at 12th regeneration.

i really believe doctor regenerations create a feeling on spectator, anyone else can understand this, a confuse mix of tears of love and sadness, about death of a body and personnality but not soul, it procures weirdy things in the belly and throat but it's not completely sad and it's beautiful, and i dont think this feeling has a name. Or maybe if it had a name it would be the real name of the Doctor.

Avatar Lhamo indeed mate. However in a rare case the episode before which ive also do a multiple reaction montage too (the doctor falls) had a case of almost regenerating the episode beforehand (which i thought was kinda better with his 'i dont want ro go' line etc). Thanks for comment ;)

I frigging LOVED Capaldi's exit speech. Matt Smith's was great as it served as a meta commentary on his experience in the role, but Capaldi - the guy who, to me, was the first actor since the relaunch to personify the Doctor as an aged being who had seen and done damn near everything - passes on one last bit of wisdom and sets the tone for all his successors.

As emotional as the Christmas Armistice scene is, I think it's a brilliant plot point. From what I've read (I'm not up to snuff on Classic Who), the idea of the Doctor as humanity's defender didn't really click until Troughton's run; Hartnell's Doctor saw us as more of a curiosity. I think having One see the "human miracle" right before he regenerates helps retroactively plant the seeds for Two's change in attitude. Also, I'm glad they showed the original footage of One's regeneration and didn't just recreate it. Nice little nod to the legacy.

Blake Dale Why thanks mate. No pressure then for rhe follow up! Hopefully ill have 'The Doctor Falls' up by next week and the 50th Anniversary episode in Feb. But thank you for the positive feedback. Still in shock how well its done. Only expected 58 people tops would view it lol

I know the feeling, I never expected more than a handful of people to be interested in my very first reaction mashup (which was to Day of the Doctor) but it inspired me onwards. I don't make mashups any more buy I love watching other people do it and this compilation format you have works really well I think.

Bradbob Hayhurst iin the edit, there was several cuts or swap rounds to see what worked. Sadly meant cutting a couple of troyboyblues clips... but doing thst made the ending funnier! Im sure ill cram more of them in other edits because a like their banter.

Mark M MarkReactor I made this around new year and picked as many as o could find at the time, though had to miss out a few because it went on too long or the flow didnt sit well with me. That said, i re-edited two others into episode 2 (the doctor falls) but chopped odd bit out, which was a shame because I liked the original cut (it got pulled by the BBC Police!) But thankfully I left myself out of both versions of part deux! I'll look what you've done though because a new episode is over due! Thank you for feedback. Appriciate it.

If you click on the 'show more', it'll reveal links to all the people in video to their channels etc. Sadly I chopped out that bit (and I like Mark Gatiss) because not many covered it or editing on their videos choppy around that part, so decided not to use (plus wanted to get to the gut punch!). Getting footage ready for next one, which will be 'the Doctor Falls'.

I really enjoyed this and for me this is where Dr Who ends, the next phase is Dr Who Time Lady!! Two things made this extra special ,one was the Christmas truce, which is a real event, and occured more than once, the other was the first Doctor's regeneration, they didnt use Bradley, they used the actual regeneration, the first one. For all these children who only grew up with new who, do you have ANY idea how special this is? Nicely done.

I know. What makes it worse is i didn't expect this video to be popular. I added a pop up to her page and apologised to her, but cannot redo without deleting video. Doctor's Who to every regeneration the next few years are going to be interesting amazing adventure, This Doctor will be incredible a great time a head! Joodie will be smashing success a siren of time! I hope that this doctor will find her place in time and space for there's a lot of people counting on her to fix things and save everyone in the future and past and present it is a big universe out there for this new doctor who? Time is ever changing and different versions of the doctor are always welcome here and so the story continues the neverending story but this doctor is a mystery and way she's going is a mystery but what she is kind and gentle and good just watch out all those enemies from the past and present and future she'll be there to help the universe like always smiling and using time and space and make things right in doctors own personal way?

To me personally this was the last great episode of Doctor Who. I absolutely despise Chris chibnalls era. I consider him the man who ruined Doctor Who. And all that is 100% evidence in his episode like Timeless child. Where he stupidly decides to make William Hartnell not the first doctor and by making the doctor not born in Gallifrey. I like to imagine after Peter Capaldi regenerated he went straight back to David Tennant where Russell t Davies is now returning.
