this doesn't sound like forgiveness it sounds more like letting something go. I had an abusive parent and I had to forgive many times in life to the point that I actually pray for people that hurt me in the past and still have relationships with them and still have friendships with them. To me forgiveness is that total never looking back at the past thing, never picking that scab. Letting go is easy because it really does make ME feel better but as soon as I remember the hurt the unforgiveness sneaks up on you if you let it and you become upset or angry or hurt all over again. To me the best way to do forgiveness is to ask God to help me with it all. Forgive as I have forgiven you. He hasn't failed me in 58 years. Turning the other cheek and not judging others is the way I live today....thanks to God. Realize that the hurt that person has dolled out is not about you, it is all about them.
