@@MarspeedCarsI second this. When we were kids we just had magazines that had the index of all cars in the back and we had to compare stats ourselves and find the sleepers lol.
I have a 08 ram 1500 with the 5.7, and the rfe 545 5 speed auto. Single cab, short bed, rwd, she's fun, and she's a hoot. My brother drives a 2016 ram 1500, 5.7, with the zf8. 4 door. His truck will walk mine like nothing. And his is stock. Mines got a rear end, and an exhaust. I think with intake and tuning I can take him. But still. A lighter truck making probably the same power getting walked
Love videos like this because it’s shows the Dodge haters just how fast some of these models are even though they are heavy and RWD. That Redeye is no joke, 0-100mph faster than a lot of cars 0-60mph.
Yeah if you take a look at most gas vehicles produced, even an RT holds it’s own. Scat Packs and Hellcats can take on most vehicles on the roads and the Redeyes are wild for that price point!
@@MarspeedCars that’s very true, when the hellcat first came out they were selling for like 70k which for what you’re getting is insane. A production vehicle that can go over 200mph with factory warranty is just nuts. I honestly think the hate comes from not just some of the annoying Dodge owners but I really think it’s from how popular dodge really is. mustangs may sell more but everyone knows what a hellcat is but not everyone knows what a GT500 is.
@@h2egoalkeeper700you are changing things up a bit, everyone knows what a mustang and a gt500 is. Dodge was never iconic like a mustang was, the mustang is the head of American muscle, don’t need to deny it, to be real it’s the best. Dodge has some nice cars, don’t know why people would hate them.
Awesome video content. The dodge charger Is the most practical sedan. As much power that car is putting out. You can't beat this car on the market. Orders on closing on July 31st for new 23 chargers and challengers.
I think the 6.4L engine with the ZF8 is the perfect “streetable” car without being ridiculous like the Hellcats and above. I think even the 5.7L with the ZF8 could be given the same title if the Scat Pack/SRT 392 is too costly, they still sound great and have more than enough power compared to most traffic on the road
The 6.4L is the best no matter what because it doesn't have the ridiculous DOD system that scraps the standard 5.7 before it manages to hit 100k miles most of the time.
That’s a great idea! While this video was not easy to make at all, having the option to do 300, minivan, Durango, etc. gives me lots of content going forward when I’m stuck for stuff. So will try to work these in at least once a month or more
I can tell from experience the AWD V8 pursuit when empty of the police gear and cage are violently faster than what you showed. I get consistent 4.9 0-60 with around 180 mph . This is with the scat gears and a 235/55/18 tire and a mid muffler delete.
@@HansBelphegor don't. The 5.7 has waaaaaay more potential. The 6.4 has no room , really for improvement. The rod length and piston skirts make it so your kinda stuck with those lengths unless you spend big money for machine work. The 5.7 can be bored out considerably and H beam rods can be added. After that you can play with the compression ratio to better suit your needs ( boost, N/A or spray ) . The 6.4 is kind of a one trick pony and if your serious about building some actual power the " eagle" 5.7 just gives you way more options. I've seen a few 5.7 with hell cat blowers making 500/500+ at the wheels. You can't really boost a 6.4 even if you use good pistons the actual hight of the piston is not good for a decent ring package and the wrist pin is located such as to make the piston less durable.
Yeah it was damn hard to find decent Hellcat runs and I looked for over an hour for a good Redeye and only had to settle on Charger. Performance should be very close to identical so I let it slide 😅
I would say do one for the Magnum, but they didn't make them for very long and the quickest stock one was the SRT-8 version. I did post a 0-60 of my 2005 R/T 5.7 from several years ago.
I wish that my 12 rt awd had the performance pages to see what 0-60’s I can do, my v6 challenger had them (hidden but there). It just goes dry or snow!
About the the top speeds listed in the previous video, the 5.7 (2011-2023),these drivers never acceded 5 grand, none remarkable test. My 2014 5.7, doesn't even shift into 5th till 134!
1. The 2 hellcat videos have different gauges because they are challengers. 2. The 2.7 didn't take 10.5 secs in the video 1:50 . Skip back 10 secs after it hits 60 and run won't start for a second
Honestly, if it weren't the handling being so iffy and the fact higher trims get stolen so much where I live, I would've gotten a charger. I was considering a Charger RT/392 or Infiniti G37 sedan and I went with the G37 Sedan because it handles a lot better and it's less likely to be targeted by thieves.
They get gapped I just race one not to long ago…he get the jump but as expected and i think i had a misfire at the time but still pulled ahead very easy and quick
Challenger in '11. Charger didn't get it until '12 due to some design differences with interior. They eventually said " 🙆♂️ stuff it in a base model and give it a special name"
I gave ranges for the 6.4 8-speed. Video that did a 3.8 was tuned and had 305 drag radials which makes a difference. That’s why I sometimes gave a range of 3.9-4.1s, where I figure most 392 8-speeds with a really good run and proper tires can hit those times
I'd argue that yes the 5.7 pursuit is a 6.1 seconds 0-60 stock, but mine is a 5 seconds slightly modified pursuit w/ 5 speed AWD. I still don't have headers and a 6.4 intake but I'd be damn if with that mod I won't get down to 4.5 seconds...
@33ordie that all depends on if you're going to do anything else to the car. I went with an FTI ESRST 3200+. It was only 600 dollars. Just make sure to fill the replacement converter up overnight so when you drive it for the first time it doesn't get hurt
I had a x police charger pursuit 2008 It was omg fast for me But it was great to see the different stats for each charger . Cops dont like the last few that they cant catch ?😮
Great video. I am curious as to the difference RWD vs AWD with traction control enabled or disabled. Both my 2011 R/T & 2014 R/T (Max) were/are AWD. When I need to put the spank down, I disable traction control, turn off all A/C, and tap shift down to 1st. Some cars try to take me, but the only time that does happen is if I have family in the car. Unfortunately I have yet to find a Tesla that’s willing to play. Statistically speaking, there are plenty of cars that should be able to take me, but it just doesn’t happen.
my rt 08 awd beat every other rt and regular srt. with out bolt ons. when it first came out it was ok for power. now everything with 600 hp or more is the norm. its not a hellcat or actually fast today but in its hay day it was special
@@user-us9no7xi6z that’s just the thing I never said stock I said tuned witch should be embarrassing considering a scat is a 6.4 but weight probably makes the difference there
Very heavy cars and hard to put the power down. I had a 2015 RT when it first came out. Beast of a car but gave me problems even though I got it new and only put 20k Miles on it. Shit the AC didn’t work correctly from new and then shortly after half my vents were blowing hot air. No dealer wanted to help because you had to remove dash. I struggled in hot summers. I closed the vents that blew hot air so I had like only a few vents and I had to run my AC on max almost constantly to keep cool. Starter went out twice. The drive belt snapped off somehow and I almost over heated. The rubber around the shifter started warping and it was a garaged car. It was a beautiful car when it came out and I was one of the first to have it on the road so I got many thumbs up but the problems really made me hate it and I eventually moved on.
