Step-by-step guide on how to replace / remove airbag clockspring on Dodge Grand Caravan minivan. This is a bit bigger project, but once you know what you are doing it can be done in less than half hour. Most common symptoms of failed airbag clockspring are:
- horn not working
- airbag light on
- steering wheel controls not working
- traction control light on
- cruise control not working
- cracking noise in steering wheel when turning
To replace the clock spring on Dodge G. Caravan first you will have to remove the steering wheel airbag. It is held by two 10mm screws. Once removed, you will gain access to 13mm screw that holds the steering wheel. remove the steering wheel and all the trim plastic pieces on top of the airbag clock spring. Disconnect 4 connectors from the clock spring and remove three torx T20 screws. Remove the air bag clock spring and move the signal light switch onto the new clock spring. Make sure not to overturn the new clock spring. That's it.
