Same shit for me too . That hemi tick turned into a blown out engine . A used motor are a rebuild is expensive as fucc . I just bought a new crate motor And used some parts form the old one
Interesting, today I get my 5,7L Crate-Engine form Mopar/Rockauto. It was shipped on wood a nd didn't have any caps on the openings. And, I didn't get a sealing set for the oil pan or anything else. Greatings from germany
Not sure what happened there. I've never ordered from rockauto so I don't know what to expect. It may have been a return that someone didn't reinstall the caps and kept the gasket set also. Could be a different part number that didn't include the gaskets. May call them and ask. Thanks for watching!
@@tt-rs1457 Most engines I order from every manufacturer are remans or at least have tags that state factory reman. I normally don't ask because I order direct and I get the full factory warranty with them.
Agreed. There's 3 basic options: short block, long block, and what Chrysler calls a Service Replacement assembly, which is a complete new engine specific to its intended vehicle/application. A distinct. Advantage to a long block is the ability to detect and correct most assembly errors and crappy parts, and is probably 1/2 the cost. $8700 isn't a bad number for a new installed long block at the dealer, and you get both the Mopar engine and labor warranties. On the other hand, a good local mechanic who charges less and will stand behind his/her work is an excellent choice over dealers who like to say "we couldn't find anything", or the old standby: "it's normal".
when you put the engine back in the vehicle,, you have to turn the engine to put the fly wheel bolts back in .. would it be safe to start the engine now that the timing is off. are do it need to be adjusted?
This engine came with the timing set installed from the factory so the timing will not be off after turning the engine to install the converter bolts. You should install the timing set before you stab the engine if yours doesn't have it already installed, or your replacing the one that's on it.
Great video i am in the same dilemma so timing is set at factory good the other question is do you have to pre lube it or just crank with no fuel to get oil pressure up...
