Dodge Neon srt-4 P0335 (crank position sensor) problem solved.

Hadn’t driven the srt-4 in a long time due to a p0335 code (crank position) sensor code. Decided to take the time to swap it out . Didn’t take long at all. 40-45min. Taking the intake manifold and starter off may seem like it’s a lot but it’s not. Don’t be intimidated. Hopefully this video will help!

I’ve owned a 05 srt4 neon.. way easier to just go underneath and replace. Lol you went dealership mechanic ways.. but good video tho. Got a srt4 caliber now so it’s a little different but the CSPS is under as well. Hiding under a heat shield. 👍🏻

Much LOVE man!! this is the only check engine light cause to my 05 neon srt4 so after I replace my transmission now I know thanks to you! Yet I'm not doing my trans swap due to not having a garage and its cold here in Michigan but do you know if there is a way to access that from under the car? Say I just bought it and I haven't had much time to even look at the car myself for all of these small things since i took it to a shop. I appreciate you!!

I never thought about trying from underneath. I didn't see any videos on how to do it at the time. It wasn't to bad Goin from the top. Just have to be read to replace the intake gasket

@@MIGHTYDQ thanks man means alot this is my 1st srt4 so im pretty new to the group but love these cars especially since in never see them where I live i felt like I had to be the extrovert and be different loll If you have any suggestions about this car PLEASE let me know! I bought mine completely moded so I know things don't look the same as stock with these random vacuum lines and needing a air intake to my turbo is missing loll😅😬

I just picked up an 05 NSRT4. It was fine driving from TX to OK. This morning I went to start it (it had sat outside overnight and it was 25-35 degrees), and it took a real long time to start. CEL started flashing, I’ve got the P0335 code and P0300. Think it’s related?

P0335 is the crank position sensor but with the P0300 you should try the coils. That happened to me before. It was have a really bad miss at about 3500rpm... also check and make sure the spark plugs wires are good

@@MIGHTYDQ I’ll give them a shot. Just stumped because once the car is warm, it’s super smooth. Besides not making any boost.. it doesn’t hesitate or anything

Isn’t it easier replacing the sensor from the bottom of the car instead of taking everything apart

May sound like a stupid question but is that how the intake is suppose to sit? I just bought a SRT4 and the intake in the car is sitting sideways compared to how yours looks.

Not a stupid question. But as far as I know their all the same. What year is yours? Maybe they did something different in-between years

@@MIGHTYDQ mine is a 05, I mean the way your intake sits looks better compared to mine, yours atleast looks like it uses the bracket coming off the intake.

I have to do my sensor and I was thinking the same thing as I’m watching your video. Seems to me like you just did way too much work that you didn’t need to when you could probably just go underneath the car to take it out. I’m hoping that’s true because I’m about to do mine tonight but I do have a good jack and jackstands

I'm trying this rn, it looks like the starter is in the way. And the Throttle body is in the way of the starter bolt. Thinking going from the top is the way NM I got it lol gotta use a tiny 1/4 socket

Not sure if it will keep it from starting but it will kill the engine when driving

@@MIGHTYDQ I’m having that issue with mine dying out while driving and feeling like it runs out of fuel but I’m going to change out this sensor. This is the only video I found related to this crankshaft sensor

Mine is when u leave it sitting for a while it cranks but sputters then give it gas shuts off
