We just finished a leather kit installation on a Special Edition two-tone Dark Graphite and Black Suede leather interior in a 2002 - 2005 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel. This special edition package has custom tuck-n-roll style black suede inserts with perforated leather bolster accents and contrasting perimeter top-stitching and double-stitching in contrasting white thread. Perfect Video. I am so glad I watched it. I would have tried to just pop the tabs with the original leather cover on. It is obvious after the fact that cutting it off and popping them from the inside was the way to go. Thanks!!!

Love the video...very informative...but one thing I don't like is reusing the console underpad that's clearly worn and broken down. That is the issue I have with mine. Love your product...but I'm not installing new cover is the under pad can't be replaced. Other than dirty, my cover is in good condition...just the need a new foam pad. Now of I could replace that at the the same time, that would be awesome. Replaced the foam seat cushions...just need a new console lid foam pad.

@timothymroberts2949 Thanks for your comment! I'm glad you found the video helpful. Our focus is primarily on the upholstery and we don't offer replacement foam. When we run into a damaged under-pad on these models for local installs, we typically cut out the damaged section and repair the section with high density foam. Foam repair can be a more advanced process, but a local upholstery shop might be able to help you out with a repair.

I did mine a couple years ago and I still have one of the black curved plastic strips from the 20% jump seat. In the video I see 2 of them but I don’t see them being reinstalled. Are these just thrown away?

Please please please tell me that there is a 2nd row 60/40 bench with arm rest installation video for an 06 mega cab or similar on your channel that I am missing. It is one of the very few reasons I have held back from ordering lol

what length staples where used on the center console arm rest? does that staple gun roll the staples over or are they just straight?

+jjp202 The staples are just straight. I am not sure what size they used on this console exactly since it was filmed a few years back. However, if I was to guess, I would think they use 1/8 inch on this particular console since you are just trying to tack it down and the whole thing is further held in place from the plastic trim that is popped back on afterwards.

Could y’all do a kit like this but for the upgrade jump seat that’s so popular 2012-18 jump seat into 20O2-2009, because the grey tops are the only color available? Can’t not find a tan/taupe color one.

great video. I bought the cover. what size staple should I use? I don't have a phnematic gun but I want to use my heavy duty stable gun. Is that ok and if so what size staple?

Justin Salgado Really we wouldn't recommend using a hand stapler but if that is your only option it is doable. Just be careful in regards to the stapler and staples slipping while you apply pressure as they can potentially tear the vinyl. We typically use 1/4" staples for this console lid. +Andy Valdez We produce pre-sewn replacement leather upholstery kits that are ready to install right out of the box. There are several options for installation. The first is installing the kit yourself. If you do not want to install the upholstery yourself you can have a local automotive upholstery shop install it for you. We have had customers ship us their seats to have us install them however this can be very expensive and usually only makes sense on a very select few projects. Almost complete, how about taking the seat off the brackets. I can't get to my truck right now. But can the jump seat be removed while in the truck or do you have to take the front seat as an assembly

David Heath The jump seat should be able to be removed separately from the driver and passenger seat however it shares the same floor mounts. You will need to unbolt the seats, tip the driver and passenger seats back, remove the center jump seat, and the put the driver and passenger seats back down onto the mounts to be bolted back in.

2003 dodge ram 1500. Center armrest is covered as one piece but seems to be one with a lid and storage. You can actually see a hinge in the back if you pull up the upholstery a little. Can the upholstery be removed and recovered as a storage unit.

What kind of staple gun is that? And is there a specific staple I should get for the gun? Also does it have to be a pneumatic. And if it does have to be a pumatic what model is it so I know what to look for. Thank you so much

livefootagetube This is a pneumatic upholstery stapler, which uses a 22 gauge 3/8" crown staple and allows for shooting shallower staples. Eric is using a Porter Cable brand pneumatic upholstery stapler in the video, although there are many other brands that offer pneumatic upholstery staplers that would perform well at various price points. We might also suggest considering paying a professional automotive upholstery shop for installation, as they should be able to install any of these components.

Brian Hill We do have patterns for the 94-97 and can build a kit for you using the same colors and materials as the seats in this video. As far as the look is concerned, the 94-97 seats are a completely different style and will look different that this kit even with the same colors and materials. Is an air compressed staple gun required? Or could I possibly use a regular hand held staple gun that doesn't require an air compressor?

+Pistol Plex We highly recommend not using a hand stapler because it is difficult to keep/stretch the leather in place while still being able to apply enough pressure on the stapler. Also, we find that a lot of times a hand stapler does not have enough power to go through the factory console plastic. A pneumatic stapler is the best way to accurately place and hold the leather into the correct position.

I wish he would tell us what the name brand of the stapler is and what the size of the Staples are that would be very helpful so I don't push a staple through the plastic since it's my first time and I would like to find the same brand stapler

Unfortunately, I do not know what staple depth is used on this specific console, but we generally start out with 1/8" and work up from there if we need more depth to bite into the plastic.
