2 yr later he now plays for the Cubs lol Edit - Also, don't tell me 24 is your favorite number too... just so happens Pederson is #24 now too. Crazy huh?
Nicholas That is the name of the model. Usually named after the person that created it or made it popular. Jeter has a model named after him for example.
Yes. He’s a perfectly normal human being. No fake hyped up attitude for the cameras or show. No stupid jokes. No pseudo-intellectualism. No superiority complex. Just a normal guy. It’s a breath of fresh air.
While I have the chance I wanna thank my dad for getting me into baseball .he won’t read this , he’s old school and still listens to the radio on the front stoop . I’ll never forget the 1st time I played ball . 1966 , The older kids up the block were pitching and hitting in the street and dad sent me up there and told me to ask if I can play . Mr. Broschart was pitching over hand and i said , cant throw underhand ? I was like 6 yo and he said , that’s not how we play here son and proceeded to put my hands together , choke up on the bat and spread my legs . It was all fun and games ever since .
If you are a baseball fan, and happen through Louisville, that factory tour is a great family or for yourself time. Pretty inexpensive, and getting to hit balls in the batting cage with bats made to your hero's specifications for a few extra dollars is so fun. I've been three times and got a custom bat made for myself every trip.
Yes. Different sizes, different barrels, you can also add things to them. Like grip or a barrel ring. For metal bats there are illegal bats because they can improve performance or have an advantage vs normal bats. It all comes down to personal preference when it comes to bats.
I have been there before it is so interesting to walk through there and see how the bats are made especially for a baseball player or a baseball fan highly recommend going and taking a tour of you are ever in Louisville Kentucky you won't regret it
Only 15% of MLB players use slugger. They have been going downhill ever since John Hillerich IV took over in 2000/2001 from his Father. Only reason company is still in business is because of the museum. Even the museum has gone downhill since Covid hit in 2020. The museum got rid of some amazing employees and tour guides and now all the tour is is videos and guides that are not knowledgeable
I've crossed the bridge on I65 from Indiana into Kentucky many times and the first thing you see is that big ass Louisville Slugger factory. I've always wanted a tour. Where do they make the corked ones?
Hundred mile drive.... Awesome. lol Where do they add the cork? If he thinks making a bat is alot of work, he should visit a ball factory and see the nimble fingers of the indonesian workers who make them. Just to toss the ball when it touches the ground only once.
Ash is all but annihilated in North America because of ash borders, but yeah by all means continue cutting down trees for a sport people don't care about anymore.
Lol thats just not true. All pro athletes use the best of the best available equipment but that doesn't meant they couldn't play with the stuff you can buy at the sports store.
I always thought these bats were hand made. they just pop them in a machine and 5 seconds later its shaved into a bat. what the hell am I paying all this money for
I know ash is a good wood and the trees are dieing at an alarming rate. But osage orange/hedge is much harder, i wonder why that isn't used on a custom bat.
