Those dogs only exist though because irresponsible dog owners don’t neuter or spay their pets and let them create more muts. When purebred dogs make it to shelters they’re almost always the first ones adopted. Shelters are made up of 99% mixed dogs that came from non breeders
The best way to go through the down swing is take a week of time off, re-group your emotions and review the hands you played during your down swing section and move on. Love your vlog and keep it up Lex
Hi Lex. Long time viewer. Generally don’t comment. However. I just felt the need to tell you that one of the main reasons I watch ur videos is because of your honesty. I still occasionally think about a video you made a long time ago when you lost a big chunk of money and you were very honest about your feelings. I think the reason that video resonated with me is because I can vividly remember a similar situation. I lost 5k once at a single session, and for me that is a lot of money. I usually play 2-5 with 2-3k….. So when I lost the 5k I just remember having some of the exact feelings you were having. So I could definitely relate. Also, side note…. I also watch for the poker content. Keep posting buddy. Take care.
It's always good to having something to look forward to when you come home after work. Those 2 pups will always make you smile no matter how bad your day might have been.
Hi Lex, I have just finished Invisalign. To take them out, you can get these cheap little things that are like a cross between a toothpick and a crowbar. They will save your fingernails and make it so much easier to remove them. I was wearing them for a year. It was a lot of effort but, for me, worth it.
Great idea giving Rogue a playmate/companion/sis...usually we leave some music or tv on with low volume to dampen the solitude factor, but adding on is the way to go! Looks like the lot of you are getting along swimmingly! ...(I had to do it!)
I’m currently on a downswing. I have the same issue of losing early and clawing my way back later in the session. I’ve started buying in smaller to start, as sort of a warm up (I also am an avid weight lifter). It helps minimize losses early on, but also has the advantage of getting lighter calls from tighter players since I’m so short stacked for the first 2 hours of my 8 hour sessions. It’s worded well for me.
In case you were wondering, holding KK there are 19,600 possible flops of which only 15,180 contain no Aces, so your chances of seeing a flop with no Ace in it are 77.4%. Yes, better than 3 out of 4 flops will be free of Aces and you can happily bet knowing that you will only be beaten by Straights, Flushes, Sets and Two-pairs against you.
I think the check on the turn and the call on the River was fine with aces. I really don’t think you missed that much value that club really slows the action down and if you check raise the River only better calls and worse folds out. Great video Lex
I understand your pain. I do the Invisaline as well. To help take them off use whatever hand u want reach for the opposite inside of your mouth. Makes taking them out easier
It's selective memory at play; something most humans are affected by. You're forgetting about the more than 70% of the time that an A doesn't come on the flop.
The last half of this was oddly therapeutic with River and Rogue and just the real talk. You’re absolutely right with the “monsters in the closet” syndrome. When you feel like nothing you do is right. Just take a moment and slow down your thinking, like you said….
I have Invisalign's too. The best way to describe how they feel early on is; it feels like your teeth are wearing clothes. I usually take them out by pulling them from the inside back, they come out pretty easy that way. Enjoy the hassle, its worth it in the end.
I just went through the same thing with a 6 session losing streak I took off a few days to regroup and now crushing again. Players at the Wynn know I’m stacking them once again.
Love your new edition she’ll make the other dogs life so much better as he’s always just waiting for your return now they can play and the time will shoot along also she’s young and will probably stop trashing your possessions and furniture in time!
When your done with Invisalign. Make sure you keep your retainer in for 1-2 yrs after while slowly cutting back on time keeping retainer in. Otherwise your teeth will move back and you'll have to spend another $2500 to restart it like I had too
Love your new girl, River. A man after my own heart, scrambled eggs, English muffin and Ben and Jerry’s! lol . I hear you on your downswings. It’s impossible to feel timid especially when the deck has not been kind. I can’t help but take it personal sometimes. Chin up, learn from past mistakes. 😊
Getting those out of your mouth - go two thumbs using your nails pushing up for the bottom by your lower k9s. Upper i pull down with both index and middle finger on the left and right by top k9s. They come out pretty quick that way. Keep grinding buddy!
Yes. For me, it does. I have a bad habit when running bad to miss out on value, always thinking the villain is slowplaying and waiting to cooler me and trapping. I know it is bad habit. When I feel like I can't hit a flop, I overfold pre. I just get down on myself.
Great vlog as usual. I've doing invisalign since September of last year. So far so good. The biggest pain is eating and drinking because you have to brush all the damn time. Hope to meet you sometime in the poker streets!
I feel being on a down swing definitely makes me play worse. I raise lighter and convincing myself to make bad calls to try and get unstuck. I have a hard time controlling tilt so I normally don’t stay longer than 3 buy ins 😂
I have a black lab puppy that's just a little older than her. You are right. They are very destructive dogs. They are very food oriented. My dogs like a vacuum thar sucks up anything off the floor. But it's easy to use treats to train them
I had Invisalign then later on went to braces when it was bad I would take pain killers the first day or two after I would swap to the next set same thing whenever I would get a new wire for my braces
I was weary but pleasantly surprised at the results from my 2 daughters in Visa lines. Their teeth were perfect in just a year. And a lot cheaper and better looking than braces but you have to put all the money up at once
5mo downswing here. it's unreal - and worst part is i dont know when it will end and how long it can continue. card dead, flop dead, cooler dead. really makes me question a lot - aiyahhhh winning player 2020-2022. just sucks.
You are going thru a downswing and you made money today, $1250. That's a great day... Build on that. Don't second guess your play... Also, River is a beautiful looking dog.
Love the videos!!! Something I always wondered is that you never mention being in a relationship or wanting a relationship. Is being a poker player for you a "single guy thing". Do you purposely avoid being in a relationship with someone? Just always wondered that.
Who am I to advise on poker?! I see vlogs that players slow play AA as you did in last hand. I tell you what I do; I raise 15 times BB and I verbally tell the tale to fold, I got pocket AA ! Because I hate to lose to two pair 6868 post flop, or river 😂 that’s the fact!
Hi Lex. Really enjoying your videos from South Korea, and this is the first time commenting on your video. About the last hand, I think you played the hand entirely fine. In fact, I think you played it somewhat dangerously. I thought you would probably lose when opponent bets on that river. You bet big on the flop, which narrows down opponent's range to good top pair+, some qj and 89 (I don't know the field as much as you do, but I think an open-ender without backdoor clubs would not call a 3/4 bet OOP), and flushdraws. Opponent's call with K6 without any backdoor 4-ways is a losing play IMO. He even bet out on the river with shitty top pair! It is neither a value bet nor a bluff! His value range should at least look like good 2pair+ and flushes. He is just a fish. I think you got lucky (or knew the opponent was doing that kind of nonsense) for having him on the table. You were not afraid of monsters under the bed. Your AA became just a bluff-catcher on the river. Also, you would have never got 3 streets of value against a single K anyways.
Teething probably all that stuff is. Including the licking. Just a faze! Yeah downswings suck. Taking a break cuz I busted my live roll. AA into 88 pre and binked an 8 river. Was already running bad that just stuck a fork in me on my last live session. Time for a break! 🤣
@lex my wife just started invisiline. It’s hilarious when she try’s to pop it out. I don’t feel bad, it’s worth it and I was unfortunate with braces as a kid 😂
Instead of lamenting your luck / courage for not going for a thin value in the last hand, you should pat yourself on the back because you played it well, it could have easily been two pairs, K 10 are well within his range and if you kept barreling and he kept calling you could have easily lost $2000 in the last hand unnecessarily in case he had two pairs / a set of 7s, or you could have made a modest win, which you did,. It's exactly this kind of play that stops the leaks from your stack by minimizing losses and not getting married to the hand. A small advise from an grey haired man if I may !
I didn’t see the end of the hand yet but I had to comment, QJo hand is so bad. You didn’t mention the preflop much just that it was 6 ways and 600 in the middle so I assume, 1 or 2 limps someone makes it 100 and you plus everyone calls. You can’t call a 4x raise there with the limpers behind that could potentially limp 3 bet then when someone bets 80% 6 ways I think you just have to fold top pair third best kicker on the flop. Before I finish watching the hand I can’t imagine it went well for you
