I had a stock s14 for awhile. The general consensus around the community is pretty accurate. They're not PAINFULLY slow but still pretty down on power, but the chassis is a masterpiece. Even stock it's a fantastic momentum car and can take turns at decent speeds without getting unsettled. Overall really good beginner car. Super easy to throw around and have a good time in, despite needing some extra muscle.

I had a BONE STOCK 240. Only paid $1200 from craigslist. Litteraly only took me like 10 mins of searching. Don't over pay. Sucks that we tore it down for our SEMA project lol

my 94 is bone stock, and then i got rear ended by a 99 chevy 1500 sunday evening, about a block away from autozone where i just bought parts the day before... Fun fact: I got hit by the kid who sold me the parts from autzone, he was on his way to work... ironic eh?

I have an almost bone stock 1989 240 hatch. After market wheels and exhaust. Surprisingly the single cam picks up a lot better than most people would expect.

i was forced to be patient because im so picky. Ended up with a supercharged is200 as my first car.

The same for me, i got a 200sx chassis (just the empty shell, no interiors, no front panels, no engine, no windshield, no wiring harness, not a single rust spot and stock suspensions.) (i'm in italy) at 16, now i'm 17 and i'm rebuilding her slowly, here we have the awesome CA18 that i currently don't have but that i'm gonna get. She is gonna be finished by the time i get my driver license. This guy is not the only one doing such a thing, alot of "kids" love this chassis and want to save them and not just have a car to trash. So much respect for you man, GG

Bone stock = aftermarket wheels, aftermarket exhaust, aftermarket media system

I remember when I was about 6, my great grandfather had a red s13 he bought new. I loved riding in that car so much. I didnt care too much for the auto seat belts that I'd get trapped in. I didnt know then, how much of an icon and special car it was. Great memories. Wish he saved it for me to own one day.

I think a stock 240SX is great, its funner to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow. It being stock means it won't be stuck in a garage all the time like most 240's end up. If you plan to build, driving it stock for awhile really makes you appreciate and enjoy your future modifications and changes.

The similar struggle is finding a stock DSM.

Until 2 years ago I had a 92 Nissan NX 2000. I was the original owner. They are out there! Dealt it in because the 2nd fuel pump went and other mechanical problems at 300k meant it would have cost a lot to repair, and the body seams were rusting - you couldn't tell from the outside.

RB25 is so underrated... I'm from Australia and had an old R33 and drove the shit out of the stock engine for 3 years then finally blew the number 1 piston and rebuilt the thing with forged internals. Was good for 600HP with a highflow T28 turbo and haltec EMS. We call them 180's over here or S13 an with an RB25 they are an absolute weapon!

Just sold my all original 92 hatch with 74k miles. It was auto. Very nice car! Got a completely stock 98 240 with a stick and same mileage. Gotta love a clean stock 240!

My mom had a Twin cam 240SX from brand new. It didn't have any mods whatsoever. Boy did I love that car! (My friends were always jealous when she picked me up from school).

3 years ago i bought my first S14, it was super clean, never crashed and it was an auto, all stock besides coilovers and enkie wheels for $2200. Last year i bought my second S14 it was a SE model, all stock even with the stock alloy wheels, in good condition for only $500. Now people be trying to sell a rusted 240SX all dented and trim pieces missing if not gutted for 5k, the Drift tax is real now days.

if i had the money id so buy a 240 and restore it to stock, perfectly stock, every single peice and strip and restore / rebuild the whole car so its as if it had just come out of the nissan factory. i think a mint condition 240 would get so much more attention at a car show than a 600hp drift missle 240 would

It's crazy because everyone says how hard it is to find a bone stock, clean 240, but I've found at least 3 or 4 for under 4K. But that's rare. They were ALL in Chicago. I don't think the owners knew the true value.

I've been driving a mostly stock S13 single cam for 20 years now. Super high mileage and still rocking and rolling. I would make the argument that single cams are more reliable than DOHC.

My own first car was a 100% stock 95 s14 I got last year. I looked for over two years, it was worth haha. Nothing was touched, like it was off the showroom floor and the second time i ever drove stick was in that car from washington dc to central nj. the video you posted of the blue kouki ka-t inspired me to get it and that ended up being the first car i owned! I plan to have my own ka-t build now, keep up the awesome videos!

I have an absolutely stock 1989-90 in Canada 🇨🇦 😀 rust included. Have not driven in years. Have had alot of people wanting it but I never thought they had enough respect for the jewel. I was impressed that everything was matching even the laser etched windows.

There's this lady in my town that drives a actual bone stock 1989 s13 hatch, original everything, garage kept, flawless paint and about 95k original miles, she told me she bought it brand new right off the lot, looks and smells like a brand new car, I told her to never sell it because a s13 like hers is getting more rare by the day.

There's a bone stock 240sx owned by a neighborhood security person in a neighborhood next to mine, (it's used for their "security" purposes) it's barely driven and it's in decent condition. Best thing is that I might be able to get it for really cheap. But I don't know how to contact the owner and talk to him about if he's willing to sell it. 😕 should I go for it?

I just picked up a bone stock 89 240 from some dude in Alabama. I had to tow it 1600 miles there and back to Indiana. But I'm the third owner got from some old guy who picked it up used in 92 and kept it in PERFECT condition, and the only thing done to it is a removed spoiler

There’s an apartment complex near my house with a 100% stock s14. Like oem wheels, exhaust, everything. It has under 150,000 miles and the paint looks good. Talked to the owner once and he doesn’t ever plan to sell it sadly

I just picked up a nearly bone stock s13 three weeks ago. Currently putting the motor back together after a rebuild and we will see if she runs. Has a super straight body. Clear coat is peeling everywhere but is all the same color. Has Pontiac Fiero rims xDD. Crackless dash but its not as clean as this guy's. The rear of the interior was gutted but I'm not worried about that. This is my first car I've been wrenching on and damn it really is a time trap. Has rust on the undercarriage but no rust on the exterior panels, nothin a welder can't fix. She's been through like 20 owners but is still very unmolested.

In Kajaani Finland, some old lady (70+ yo) had 200sx (ca18det) stock machine. Sadly she crashed it around 2013~ :( . It was epic to see old granma drivin such a vehicle :)

stock 240sx is crap, european 200sx is amazing and so is japanese 180sx... us got the crap version

Really nice to see a stock s13 with a manual "proper" transmission. Unicorn alright. Even rarer now with everyone going JDM crazy. As a teenager a neighbour had one so always loved the styling.

Weirdly enough, there's an EXTREMELY clean, bone stock 1990 240 with 36k miles in Pittsburgh for 3500 right now. The temptation is killing me.

Lol i bought my Supra when I was 17 so I was a sophomore pulling in with a mk3 Supra with no rust, perfect interior and a great sounding motor. And I still daily it, with only 103,000 miles

The first car I bought with my own money was a 1990 240SX. It was also bone stock with the steel wheels and covers. I actually bought it off a car lot back in 2002. It does handle quite well in stock form and I got used to driving it that way. I eventually did some upgrades but I based them off what I felt from the stock handling. Pretty much enhancing what it could already do. I went performance springs and shocks instead of coilovers mainly because I was broke, but I wanted to keep it street-able since it was my daily. I did swap out to a vlsd though. I mainly autocrossed it and it was actually one of the quickest 240's that showed up at the events. The SOHC pulled nicely enough for me and never broke down so there was no need to swap it out (again I was broke). I eventually sold it after 10 years of ownership. 8 out of the 10 years the car was clean title. Then I got cut off and curbed which made it salvaged. Oh, and I too rolled up to school in a 240 (well, junior college). I'm really glad to have owned one not just for the experience of having one but the people I've met along the way. Great times.

Someone down the road from me has a mint 240 that is still bone stock. Every time I see it I just think, "This will probably be the only one I'll ever see untouched."

About a month and a half ago I bought a bone stock 1987 mk3 supra with only 126,xxx km on it, was pretty pumped on that 👍🏻

I have a bone stock S14 5 speed.... It is sooo hard to restrain myself from modding it..... Especially when parts are sooo cheap!

My dad sold his 240 a few years ago, it was part of my childhood and was in MINT condition and bone stock. The interior and paint looked brand new and so did the engine bay. Wish he would've kept it lmao

I have one exactly like this, '89 Sohc, bonestock, automatic, pignose with clean interior. Original everything.

Had one in 2009 but here in SA it was called a 200sx with the CA18DET motor. It was stock with low mileage and all body panels in tact no accident damage. Bought it for $3 000. Unfortunately had to sell it a year later, needed money.

I had a manual 91' KA24DE about 15 years ago, it was the most fun I had in my life. Just like Alejandro's, mine was stock except the exhaust. My biggest regret till this day is selling that beaty.

Stock examples of the 240 need to be preserved, dude. They're absolute unicorns, and you can tell this example, SOHC and all, is sor a time capsule of the era.

In my opinion as a owner it's a good car. Mines is almost near stock. It's gotten me to work,school and home with decent mpg too. Of course things tend break being an old car but only problem I actually had was a fuel pump.

i hate to say it but i got that car fever. After i wrecked my first car a 2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS came up for sale. I went and looked at it and i immediately wanted it. Low mileage, came with really expensive coilovers, and a few more mods. Everything seemed great about it so i really wanted it. Spent 3800 on it and was loving it. Turns out it had something pretty major that had failed on it. It had a bad head gasket on it and i ended up spending another 400 doing it myself. Now it has a cracked radiator and is still giving me cooling issues but is slowly getting there. Hoping after i put a new radiator in this Saturday it fixes the cooling system for good.

found an untouched one right away pretty close to me. $1300, 180,000kms and manual. a fuck load of rust though.

I can relate, this is my first car. Mine is custom from the factory from the first owner, shark nose, red, SE, no sunroof, twincam redtop KA24DE. There is a canon exhaust and coilovers though but that's it. The second owner had a Honda battery and oil filter in it. I rescued this silvia..👌👌
