Tried the oscillating Oral-B brush but it started to cause notches on my teeth within 6 months. The indicator never went off once to say that I was brushing too hard and you have to push it against your teeth rather hard to even get it to light up and slow down. Far too powerful either way I find.

Try using the sensitive heads and the sensitive mode if your toothbrush has one. Further, the toothpaste should not be a whitening one since they are abrasive, I would suggest Sensodyne's pronamel daily protection (not the gentle whitening one)

Fiest time tried an electric toothbrush (Oral-b pro 750) . Downsides : The feeling is not so pleasant. The vibration of the brush sends the toothpaste flying in all directions , so you're forced to cover somehow, but then I don't see exactly where on the treth is it cleaning. 2. Difficult to control Pluses: 1.I'm not working so much, not at all in fact , comparing to a manual one. 2. Plaque is removed more efficiently I like manual brush, but I need to upgrade my skills with it and do it correctly.

Oral b works better than Sonicare. Due to the fact that Oral b round brushes adapt to the teeth better than sonicare. The only thing you gotta do with an Oral b is to hold it over a tooth surface. I wish someone would come up with teeny tiny silicone or rubber squeegee like teeth cleaners . I find that toothbrushes don’t actually remove plaque , it just moves it around on the teeth . I often have to use my fingernail to scrape it off my teeth but that’s too hard to do for each tooth .
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 2 года назад
Interesting. Toothbrushes are proven to remove plaque and from what I have seen more effectively than silicone bristled brushes. You are basically wanting a small sponge style thing to wipe over the teeth?
@fernosan
@fernosan Год назад
9 months late, but if I may comment, I know what you mean. The thing is, the thing you are removing with nails may not necessarily be plaque. Remember that saliva has lots of proteins and these give some viscosity to it, coating the teeth. Also, there will always be some loose aggregation of bacteria around. The problem is when these aggregations slowly deposits on the teeth. Brushes breaks these 'bacterial organizations' and helps the saliva and mouth movements wash them away later.
@SleeplessinOC

@@ElectricTeeth yes , that’s what I mean . It seems brushes pick up SOME plaque but not nearly enough. I use the Burst brush and I still see gunk left on my teeth afterwards.
@SleeplessinOC

@@fernosan whether it’s plaque or not , my point is that it seems it’s impossible to remove just by brushing. Flossing seems to help the in between and sides of teeth but still a lot of stuff left over afterwards. Very frustrating .

Electric Teeth Does Brushing Teeth twice a day mean brushing every 12 hours?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 3 года назад
No. You can brush morning and night. It doesn't need to be a set time apart. Of course the more time between each session the greater the benefit. Brushing at 11am and then at 6pm is still better than nothing for example, but you will get more benefit (in theory) if you brush at 8am and then at 8pm for example.

For a manual, are bamboo brushes really effective and if so are the soft or medium ones better?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 3 года назад
A regular manual toothbrush, be that bamboo or plastic are effective, if used correctly. An electric toothbrush will remove more plaque than any manual, due to the increased and consistent movements. In some instances and electric toothbrush is a much better product for someone. However, the majority of us can have equally healthy teeth with a manual brush. Advice is to generally opt for a soft bristled toothbrush as this is more gentle on the teeth and gums.
@greenkitty82
@greenkitty82 3 года назад
Electric Teeth ok thanks. I'll have a look at soft bristled bamboo brushes. With the electric toothbrush, how do the interchangeable heads work? E.g do you brush with precision clean for a while and then switch to crossaction or do you switch them daily or weekly? How does it work?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 3 года назад
You can pick the brush head you like and use it daily. Just replace it after approximately 3 months. You don't have to switch brush head styles. You can if you want, but definitely not something you have to do.
@greenkitty82
@greenkitty82 3 года назад
Electric Teeth ok, so just use the desired head for 3 months. And then you could change the heads if you want to. Ok, thanks. And using an electric toothbrush shouldn't cause gum damage or recession, even if you already have recession? Which brush head is best to use if you have existing gum recession?
@ElectricTeeth
@ElectricTeeth 3 года назад
Correct ref brush heads. No, there is no reason for an electric toothbrush to cause or make worse any gum recession, providing it is used correctly. I.E Don't brush the teeth with lots of force. Use the correct brushing technique. We generally recommend the Sensitve or Seni UltraThin brush head as the bristles are really soft. Of course if your dentist gives any personalised advice it is best to take this. It doesn't hurt on your next appointment to make sure they are happy with your at home oral care routine and the brushing technique etc you are using.
