One of the most requested videos ever!! I love hearing your suggestions for new videos so definitely leave any requests you may have!! I'm so excited to finally be doing the "Does Arctic Fox Work on Dark Hair?" video!! Almost every single one of my does it work on dark hair vids had Arctic Fox as a request!! I hope you like seeing this review on my trying 3 different Arctic Fox colors on my dark unbleached hair! As always these colors will show up better on bleached hair but this is just a fun experiment to see if it will leave any color or tint! Everyone that says she should just stop trying to dye her hair colors like this needs to lighten up. Not everyone with dark hair wants to go through the bleaching process, some of us just want that wash, or hint of color. I just used purple rain on my hair and I have a medium brown to dark brown hair. It looks amazing in the sunlight, just like I wanted it to. Some people just want to have a little fun.

I love people who made video's like this, I'm a dirty blonde but I'm still scared that colors don't show. So when someone with a dark brown color is able to show colors it gives me confidence.

Don't worry, as those greys come in you can add colour. After a lifetime of black hair i am having a blast with Arctic Fox PurpleAF works great for me and i love to mix it up too.

Purple and blue will usually have a better tint on black hair. If you have medium brown then red will show up better and give you kind if an auburn color. But I love how positive she is about arctic fox, everything she says is true though! 😊

Arctic fox works a lot better if you use a blow dryer. One of my friends with black hair gets a really vibrant green shine from it

Lexi And Nora I think they mean that u can wrap ur hair in tin foil in sections when ur dyeing it and then warm them with a blow dryer and it’s supposed to help the color “process” better I guess. At least That’s what I did when I dyed my friends hair w artic Fox. Hers was bleached lol but it’s worth a shot on dark hair. Can’t hurt. I’m acc gonna try it as soon as I can get my hands on some more dye

My 13-year-old has been wanting to get some sort of hair color/tint in her hair for the last two years, we have tried SPLAT, and a few others, of course without bleaching her hair because I wont do that, but nothing has worked. I love Kristen Leanne and I have been checking out the arctic fox for a while now, and thought about Getting it for her, but now I definitely want to😀! She is Hispanic with the thickest hair, and it’s a medium to deep brown, but it just does not pick up or hold color. I don’t want to put any chemicals in her hair that’s going to damage it, and I’m sure she would love to smell like candy, LOL I think I’m going to get this one for her! Great video! Crystal Fuentes Dont listen to that commenter. I think a dark arctic fox dye would look lovely on her hair, especially since its not as dark as black. I would really recommend to only use their recommended dark hair dyes, I believe there's one blue, one red, one purple, and maybe one green. And leave it on for as long as possible.

Arctic fox does tint dark hair but it doesn't really "dye" it per say. To actually "dye" it you will have to use bleach .

AshleyTheSimmer oh my goodness, LOL, I just came back to read these comments, and I have no idea why in the world this “Reese Morris” is so incredibly hostile about this😬😳, I don’t think she’s wasting products at all, I think the blue came out looking really nice. I don’t want to bleach my daughters hair because she’s 14 and we did the strand test on her and the bleach fried her hair, so that’s definitely not going to happen. I think the arctic fox/blue did really good here, and I really like it.

I have dark brown and have used purple semi perments, which this is - over for a shine in the sun glow effect. Works best- wrap it after applied- go to sleep , remove wrap & heat with hair dryer. RINSE don't wash- cool water. Sun, shampoo & hot water will make color leave. It's a messy- great adventure☺

My hair is naturally a medium-dark brown, but I’ve been throwing a mix of Ritual and Wrath into it every few weeks and it looks STUNNING, especially in the sun. Even when the reddish purple hue isn’t super visible, my hair overall just looks a little darker and shinier.

I am at least glad to know that it wasn't just me that couldn't dye their dark hair with Arctic Fox. I thought it was either the hair dye or my hair was just too naturally oily that it just didn't adhere. I actually used the same red and blue colours that you used! :3 The smell reminds me of those kiddo lollipops (the ones with the loop handles) as the scent. :3

I have dark hair like you and i used this a while ago. I mixed the silver and purple and it made it a pretty pastel lavendar. Of course i bleached my hair first...these colors won't do anything on dark hair if it isnt bleached.

Chelsea Harp well I have really dark brown hair. I used purple on my whole head, and it actually did tint my hair a nice purple. You can basically see it in the sun but it was there. Used more dye on my bangs and it was really really purple, and I used a blue on my sideburns and it stayed and was very visible. The blue did fade more quicker to a greenish but I still loved it.

I've used many semi/fasion colors on my hair. Naturally black korean hair (I do bleach it) Arctic Fox is my go to every time. The product smells amazing. Its cruelty free and does not stain anywhere as bad as other products. It is also infused with conditioners leaving your hair feeling amazing and it also allows you to let the color sit on your hair without damaging it. ( I leave it in for close to 2hrs when dying my hair)

OMG this video is so timely!!! I bought Purple Rain and Wrath this weekend, and will be mixing within the next few weeks after my Sebastian Cellophanes treatment washes out (I used Sapphire Blue and Cranberry Red for that). I'm also going to layer Cellophanes over Arctic Fox for added shine and sealing the color. The colors look beautiful on you. I do love the subtlety and mystery that it adds to dark hair. My primary thing is getting a nice subtle glow and tint, and coloring over a few grays, which will look like highlights with these colors. Thank you Theresa! You have given me the ultimate faith that it will also treat my hair (and tub!) kindly. I've seen other reviews but value yours the most by far!

Optima17 in the past 3 months I’ve used purple rain and wrath and they’re both absolutely amazing and they smell wonderful and they work really well I did those colors on brassy blonde but I’ve also used them on my natural brown hair and the purple rain shows up nicely

So glad to hear that :) I applied them last week and I love the color mixture! In some lighting, it looks like burgundy wine, more red in other lighting and a purplish/bluish cast sometimes. I love the multidimensional look. And yes, the smell is intoxicating. Over a week later and shampooing every 2-3 days, I still smell its fruitiness when it is wet!

I have mixed opinions on overtone. The tub is easy to use but the bottles are too hard. I couldn't get the conditioner out easy enough. And I think it dyes it enough to notice on brown hair but mine is lighter than hers. It's "dirty blonde" but more brunette to me, lol. I had better luck with color with the purple rather than the blue and I had extreme with both. But I don't think it's that easy to just use it every time you shampoo your hair and I'd rather just keep extra splat on hand to use when my color fades. It's cheaper that way. If you're getting your hair done at a salon then maybe overtone has a benefit but for me, there was no benefit to overtone and I'd rather use splat midnight indigo.

I have been a brunette for 60 years. As i began to grey i started coloring with lighter colors that only worked on the grey. Now most of my hair is grey so i can have any colour i want and it is so much fun! I get a lot of compliments on my PurpleAF hair and i love it!

Same, I dyed over my dark roots when I 're did my purple, and they were deffintly purple! I used purple rain, I don't recommend violet dream for this tho.

BTS Suji I used purple rain. Without any conditioner or diluter added. A whole bottle covered about half of my hair and at the time, it was about her length. Hope that helps. :)

I have dark brown hair and the Purple Rain looks really great! It's not super vivid but there's definitely a really clear tint there. And in the sun it looks like a really nice dark purple. I just leave it in for as long as possible.

I’m so glad you did a test on the UV light color. I was looking at this one as well, however, I think it will only work at a amusement park, funhouse, or some type of indoor event with special effects! This is why I decided to wait . The smell of Wrath and poison are so GOOD!!!

Omg so glad I stumbled on this! Ive always wanted my hair dyed in different colors but is didn't know what brands they are called or what techniques the salon does it. Its impossible for me to explain to a hairdresser what color and hue I want without knowing what they are called. Apparently theres many coloring styles and products to get that cotton candy look.I have brown hair ,so your channel is like finding the gold at the end of a rainbow.thanks

Girl you need a deep shampoo bowl. I think eMark Beauty has them for $98 right now on Amazon. Taking full on showers takes even more effort when you just trying out diff hair colors. Good job on the color with all that hair. I thought mine was a nightmare. But you win for sure. I did an Amethyst black color last year (Loreal I belive) and I got those colors, blended for sure. Best in sun light as usual but indoors very black.

Thank you because I'm sick of using cheap semis that rub off on everything and I refuse to ever bleach my hair again because it's way too damaging. I've used Garnier Blue-black hair dye countless times but I want a more intense look. My hair is naturally jet black so it's hard finding anything that will leave a tint, thanks so much for these videos ughh.

Neon moon is really the only uv color that glows. I did a purple rain, uv pink(electric paradise), uv orange(porange), uv yellow(neon moon), and only the tips glowed

Thank you for this review/test. My daughters both have brown hair and always use temp hair dyes as they don't want to damage their hair. It is good to know there is an option that works on non-bleached hair.

I’m impressed! You can actually see the color without going to a bright light. I definitely need to try this out next time. :) You definitely need to try out oVertone next. I’ve seen so many videos on it but they never show darker hair. Considering it’s a conditioner dye, it looks pretty promising.

JuriAmari overtone is a color depositing conditioner. It will only leave a tint on dark hair.

A color by Artic Fox that I really recommend and many other people have liked it is “purple rain.” It is this gorgeous purple that’s a little electric and I used to have my hair that color and I absolutely loved it!! I can tell you’d rock purple dark hair😁

thanks for an awesome video again!! i love how much detail you went in to. i was surprised that the red wasnt that vibrant because from personal experience i have always found reds to be some of the best for adding colour to dark hair. i loved the blue though, it looks soo good with your dark hair!! :D

It does work really well on bleached hair. We get beautiful dark green and purple from mixing Arctic Fox.

I love arctic fox, its super conditioning dye and it also smells super good. Its just not the best on dark hair. My hair is black (dyed, naturally brown) and I went over it all with Purple Rain and it barely did anything. I'm planning on bleaching some streaks in my hair and trying again. If it doesn't turn out I'll just go over all of my hair with black again.

for future reference direct dyed typically do not work on hair below a level 7. For best results it's best to lift hair to a level 9 or higher !

You’ll get a tint but absolutely no lift unless the color is suppose to be mixed with a developer and put on virgin hair. Lightening your hair first is the only way you’ll be vibrant.

Hi! I’m a licensed cosmetologist! With vivid colors they have no lifting abilities they are deposit only! Therefore since it’s only a deposit it’s just going to attach to the hair but since her hair is dark there is no way for it to show. That’s why you have to lighten your hair first! Yes the vivids may slightly show for very very little time on very dark hair. There’s no point in keeping on trying to apply vivids on dark hair because hair has to be pre lightened because it’s a deposit only. Now, there actually is a few products out there that will dye your hair a bright color in one process but it has a lightening agent already mixed in.

Honest Beautyfx The point of these videos are to see which dyes have any effect at all. As you can see perfectly, Arctic Fox does make quite a difference even on her dark hair, however fast it may fade again. The point is not to get really vivid colours, but to see which dyes show up at all. I don't think anyone expects bright colours on basically black hair without bleaching.

I agree with lily. I personally have dark Hispanic hair due to heritage. I dyed my hair twice and the bleach ruined my hair. It fried it and it is brittle, 2 years later. I got so tired of it that I cut it all off. I now have a "boy cut" and love it. I am going to buy this brand and lighten my hair just a shade and try to dye it. I am honestly just completely done with trying to dye it. Moral of the story tho, she is telling you what will tint your hair without bleach or lightener.

I love Arctic Fox! Vegan and easy on your hair, I’ve been using it for years and it keeps my hair vividly dyed for longer than any other hair dye I’ve tried.

I use Poseidon on my son all the time because he loves blue hair he has medium brown hair we never bleach and it does so good on his hair and lasts about 2-3 months because its not as bright as if bleached. And we love how nice and evenly it fades out back to his natural tone.

I love this color! I leave it on in foil about 4-5 hours and only rinse it out, then blow dry. Stays really great.

Artic fox is the only hair dye I use now, it's so good and I love it. Everything she says is correct. The pink one is amazing i have bleached my hair and is say if you have medium hair itll be pretty
