I'm 18....I say that all the time. I'm gay black and allergic to water! Yes I can't even take a shower without being in pain! And I swear I've done nothing to deserve any of this! As if being gay wasn't enough! Wtf could I possibly learn from being allergic to water! And after going to Doctor after Doctor, I'm convinced there's no cure! I am definitely feeling the burn and right now my focus is simple obedience to God and use of my spiritual gifts. When we face any type of challenge, it's never God hating us, but it's God asking us if we are going to trust Him. We can only push through trials with His help and we have to ask Him to give us strength. God loves us and we have to shamelessly step out of our understanding and trust Him completely to take control of our lives. Any situation you're going through is there to teach you and transform you into the person God created you to be. Life is full of many paths, but God has one special path just for you. Being thankful is very important when facing challenges. I have a very rare form of cancer of the blood. It is classified terminal because there is no cure. But, God has not abandoned me. The cancer I have is indolent, meaning slow acting and not aggressive. This means, I have more time then a lot of cancer patients have. It now been 2.5 yrs since I was diagnosed and although I am now stage 4a, I was recently told I have a stem cell donor. A stem cell transplant will not cure me of the cancer, but it will add potentially many years to my life expectancy. I am very happy with that! And, it's my sister who is an exact match to me! I am so thankful to God that I have a stem cell match! I am so thankful that the cancer I have is not aggressive and I have had time to enjoy my family and life, something many, many cancer victims don't have. I am thankful that even though my body may be sick, I still have my mind and I can enjoy life. I think being thankful for the positive things in our lives, can make a world of difference in how we face and overcome challenges. I also want to say that I am thankful for your channel and your videos. They have helped me in more ways then I can tell you. I always get excited when I see a new video!

I used to feel like GOD was punishing me most of the time. I couldn't understand why I wasn't having the same experiences as my friends were. I used to think that for some unknown reason I was meant to be on the outside looking in as my friends were excelling and having children like I'm a good person, I'm there for everyone when I can be, I love and care so why am I being punished. Then I started to feel unworthy of things especially relationships...I felt like I didn't deserve to be in one but I had to learn that he's preparing me for something and that he's working on my patience because it's very been unstable for the last few years. I ask that I can be blessed so that I can be a blessing to others who need to be blessed. I try not to fall back in that slump so I understand this video very much.
While something may seem easy for someone, and you may question why it's so easy for some people, there are probably so many unseen and unknown challenges that they had. Life is always full of difficulties and challenges for everyone!

In Genesis 22, God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, and even though he loved his son he took him up to mountain and he trusted that God would provide and make the situation right. As he was going to slay his son, a goat appeared stuck in the thicket bushes. God provided exactly what Abraham needed at the perfect time. He never wanted him to kill his son Isaac, He wanted to test how much faith Abraham had. Job lost all 12 of his sons and their wives in one night, all of his wealth and land, and was covered in welts. Everyone, including his own wife told him "Curse God and die" and he refused, bc he knew that God gives and takes away and he trusted that this is what God had planned for him, and God saw that Job was a faithful servant. Keep fighting the good fight, even in the trials, bc the gift of His salvation and the promise of his eternal life is and will be more than worth it.
I had hip surgery a weeks ago, and it flipped my life upside down and I felt like God was taking everything from me. I went from dancing 20 hours a week to being unable to walk. But it was God telling me "slow down, and make me a priority again" and showing me that I am not my physical ability or my academics or my personality, but I'm here on Earth to do good works and serve Him. I know how you are feeling and thank you for being so transparent.

I’m feeling it, and I’m happy I found this video. This past year has dealt nothing but genuine heartbreak and my car dying and family members dying and me losing vital health insurance and not being able to get a surgery I was hoping for. But my intuition’s leading me and I’m thankful that it never usually steers me wrong. I know my hardships have made me stronger, more humble. And it’s so SO hard to convince myself sometimes that the universe doesn’t hate me or isn’t out to get me and watch me fail, but it’s led me to understand my passion for acting and psychology and this year I’m taking a college course for the first time in four years and I’m taking my headshots and shooting my shot, because I’ve had enough feeling down in the dumps and I want to show the world just how strong all the struggle has made me and shine like I know I’m meant to. Girl!!!! Thanks for opening up. Sometimes I feel the same way. Your amazing. Rising up against your challenges provides you the fortitude to be great. If your not growing your dead! Life is no Joke! But it shouldn't be taken so seriously that you can't enjoy it. It's a balancing act. God loves you. Note God is also in you. When I feel the burn I try to remind myself that God is in me, therefore I can accomplish anything. I may not know how or have the current tools but I know that what I need will transpire better than I could have even planned. 🙏🏾

I am definitely feeling the burn with my relationships, my career, my youtube channel, and my dreams.. but I know that because God is INTENTIONAL with what he does and the things that he ALLOWS to happen in my life, I believe in his word and I know that all things,, ALL THINGS, whether good/bad/ugly, are working together for my good. All things are working together for our good. God allows us to go through certain things with the intent to make us stronger, in whatever we may be seeking him for.. Sometimes the very thing we are asking God to do for us, he puts us in circumstances opposite of what we want in order to prepare us. People that have challenging backgrounds are vessels of God. I had a challenging life as well but many others who had worse. God won't give you more than you can handle and he knew you would have this platform one day and can use your testimony to bless someone else. You came out of it and now you can help someone and keep them from the same challenging path. You're blessed girl!
I went through a season of that in my life, felt like I was putting so much in and getting nothing back. It was incredibly hard because it is at these times that we need God most but I did not trust him and I was too prideful to ask for help. I have been on a good path lately and whenever things don't make sense or my efforts don't seem to be bringing me success I just remind myself that having faith in God, also means having faith in His timing.
I appreciate you for speaking on this subject, sometimes being a strong believer is difficult but when he blesses you just an ounce it makes you never want to doubt him ever again and it makes you feel loved beyond belief by him .

I would cry and feel so alone, but I knew the Lord had something better for me. I just got saved & baptized 7 months ago and honestly, it has been the toughest year. I've been feeling the burn since I was a kid. And it's been a struggle ever since then. It's been 25 years. 😧 But for these part two years, things have gotten worse. I'm been going through a slump, but not because I haven't been trying, but because I haven't found anyone to give me a chance at a job. I've been to so many interviews, I check websites every week and nothing happens. No call backs. Nothing. Its just ridiculous how I see others who do wrong get what they want easily. So the burn for me is constant. And yes, I'm stronger. Indeed. To the point that my self esteem is the strongest part of me, and I'm able to understand people's struggles and encourage them to certain extent. Empathy most of all. But at the same time, I feel very much broken inside. Because of all the things I've had to learn on my own and constantly being disappointed. I really don't know what to do. It's frustrating because I've never been through a slump. I've always studied and taken care of my things. But then things went South two years ago, and I've been swimming against the current without any success. I've felt like God has hated me. It's a harsh thing to feel. But all I can do is continue to try. Thank you always for your encouragement and honest words. I always appreciate it. 😊💚
Hey! I am swimming through the currents as well! And it all started after I graduated high school a year ago and things have not been going great. Everyone else around my age are living the life because they got things before while I'm just stuck. Stuck. Feeling like I'm not getting no where. I currently don't have a job, school is a bust, and I've been looking for love in the wrong place. By this year alone, I began having anxiety attacks left and right and it has been bad ever since. I have been feeling that God just doesn't want to deal with me at all. Felt like He didn't even care about me anymore. I even was giving up on Him because I felt like it was no use for me to live. But let me tell you THINGS WILL GET BETTER. And I realized that it is not that He doesn't care.....He wants us to know that He is walking with us through this journey that we call "LIFE". He knows it's hard, miserable, disappointing, discouraging, heart-breaking, . etc., it is. But He also knows how in the end, it will become beautiful, amazing, wonderful, awesome, magnificent on how it can turn out to be. He loves us so much that He does not give us more than we can bear. So I saw your comment and it really spoke out to me and I just wanted to tell you from my heart. And I pray that this shall to overcome and also your faith and strength. Much love and God Bless.
Don't give up. I had one of the most difficult times in my life when trying to find a job after college. It's not easy - and don't blame yourself nor lack the confidence you need to succeed when this is all over. Keep the faith and realize that this situation will be behind you someday. I too blamed God and was angry after searching for employment for two years. I had to grow - and while our situations may not have been the same, I want to encourage you to not give up, express everything you're feeling to God, don't blame yourself for anything and take your peace. Have good confidence in yourself and the Lord. God told Jeremiah that He knows the thoughts He has towards him, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 23). Also, David wrote in Psalms 27 to be of good courage, and God shall strengthen your heart. Wait on the Lord. You will get there.

It is a classic question. I used to think that God was punishing me for this and that but in truth God does not work like that. Sometimes that emptiness and squeeze is there for us so we can remember to turn to Him. You are a diamond and no one gets to see you shine bright without putting the work in. One thing I am working on is trying to always find a way to thank God for something. Praise Him through any pain or circumstance good or bad. this past week, I found out my dog has fleas. it was such an awful week of running around. But I'm thankful I had the money to take care of it. I did break down, but I did everything I could this past week. I had Terminix come through twice last week and this morning. Sitting outside with my dog until I can go to the house.

I feel like these past few videos have been direct messages to me Maya! I thank God for you. You always give me EXACTLY what I need to hear at the right time. As someone currently going through a divorce and suddenly becoming a new single mother of two -- has been a stay at home mom for 6 years, and now having to pick up all the pieces on my own without help from my estranged husband or no career, life is hard as hell! I can't say I've actually thought "does God hate me?!", but I've definitely thought, "why me?" or "how much more is going to go wrong??". With everything that has gone to shit over the past two years, I can honestly say I am stronger physically, mentally and emotionally. I agree, everything we go through that we feel is a hardship is bootcamo for the amazing and successful person HE has destined us to be. It is just up to us whether or not we decide to stand in the paint and face what we have been dealt or fall victim to it and allow for it to defeat us.

this is so true.. He says He will never give us more then we can handle so even when it seems like we've had enough He knows us more than we do, and He will listen when we say we can't handle anymore. He believes in your strength more than we think we have so keep pushing and see what blessings He has in store. I went through divorce when I was pregnant and I was so "why am going through this when I did everything right and still am dealing with the things I dealt with when I was wordly?" But I just use all that hurt and what I went through as a testimony to encourage and share with anyone else who is dealing with or may feel the way I did. we all have a purpose and sometimes it takes rough situations to figure out what that is. stay encouraged anyone who may be feeling like Maya said "Does God hate me" because He loves you so much especially in the tough times. When I'm going through something I always ask WHY ME GOD?! I allow myself to be upset, angry, feel sorry for myself for a short period of time, but then I say "okay God I'm listening... what are you trying to teach me???" Diamonds are formed through pressure & struggle builds character. I got into a really bad car accident back in March & it happened right after a bunch of other crazy things so I felt like I wanted to die. I woke up in the hospital confused because I had a concussion. I ended up having a nervous breakdown... the hospital had to put me on suicide watch. But now I'm so grateful that, that accident happened. I'm grateful for the lessons it taught me & the strength it gave me. God is sooo strategic... everything he does is to build you up. It will only break you if you don't have faith. Even right now I'm going through things I NEVER thought I would have to & it hurts... but I know a year from now I'll be able to smile & be grateful for this period of my life.❤️

Last year, I learnt to be grateful and it really helped me fight depression. Now, I know that our thoughts create our reality. Like you said, they will always be people with a better life than ours, which also means that we have a better life than someone else. I have a house, I have heat, I have a bed, I have food : it's very basic and yet it's already a LOT to be grateful for, everyday.
I truly appreciate you! I have a had a rough 2 weeks! I truly felt like God hated me! I eve not stopped praying because I felt like he wasn't listening. I'm still struggling with a lot of things and I find myself crying myself to sleep every night because I feel like nothing is going right in my life! Lately I've been just asking God over and over again because there's been so much going on "why God why this again? Why this is happening to me? Why others live easier life... I know I'm not that great but do I really deserve this? Are you punishing me for everything I did wrong?!" And not that long time ago actually I finally understood that's he's just preparing me, teaching me, challenging me everyday because he knows I'm strong and I can get through this! For example a week ago I was crying and stressing like a crazy over my exams and how I'm gonna fail school and classes but it didn't turn out like that! Not at all! God just knew that i would be able to pass everything no matter what! It's just amazing how thoughtful he is, how much he cares and how good he knows! AMEN❤️

I was just crying because of a though of something that happened to me, then God send me a reminder of a woman who is going through what I went through at that time. I told God I understand and I need to shake myself up, he took me out for a reason. In time I will speak up on my channel or wherever, because I know I can help someone. And yes there are some people who don't have to move mountains but for those of us who do, i find hope in knowing that God will never give you more than you can bear even tho it feels like he did and sometimes, it doesn't seem like a challenge its just impossible but you're right life's challenges are a gym to work out our faith :)

I've been in this situation too. But I've never questioned God. Because I was always taught that God is love. So I questioned myself a lot and thought it had something to do with karma. Sometimes I still struggle with my feelings. But at the end of the day I try to find a lesson in everything. I give myself 1 day to be negative or complain. And after that I have to find different ways to better my life. And learn how to celebrate the smaller blessings that we tend to forget or not see at all. I love this video. Great message. I love this message because I've always been told to enjoy your twenties when in all reality twenties are some of the hardest times especially when you are so hopeful for the world and you think you are doing something right and everything is perfect but it dissent work out like that having the mindset that hey if i do this I'm going to get the outcome I want and NOOOO and it doesn't happen like counting your chickens before it happens and I know that because my nature is to be stable going with the flow of life is seriously the hardest thing fear of the unknown and i would too cry to God and get so mad because like why you hate me man I'm nice i don't do nothing to nobody why you do me like this i go to church and praise you why you do me like dis harpo lol but with life comes challenges with greatness comes challenges or else you wouldn't appreciate it

It almost destroyed me (or I tried to destroy myself for having to go through so much with out a breather) but it didn't and I'm here. I'm grateful that you can express it and understand it too. This month God totally told me to RISE! I talk about it in my October life update. I just see these series of events around me leading me to something else that if I have faith I'll be carried through, but if I gave into fear I'd just be held back from the BIG LIFE I aspire too.
I can see Maya great courage and open-ness that you have built through the years because of the struggles. It really takes guts to share your vulnerable side to the world and that is such a powerful thing especially when it comes to young people, young adults and mental health as a source of inspiration. You're real and down to earth whilst still in the sky achieving goals. I literally gasped when you said you were hit by a car and all those tings and it makes me appreciate you more as a human being. I wish I had strength like you!! I feel the challenge and the doubts and the questions. But you will look back at this and bow your head in reverence and wisdom. Maya, I have had so many struggles in this life. I'm not going to share them here as it would take too long. I am a born again Christian and I believe that we are going to face trials and troubles in this life if not now, at some time. Some people have many more struggles than others and I don't think we'll have the answer for that. What I do know is that God never said this life would be easy. He said "In this world you will have tribulations. But be of good cheer for I have overcome the world". He says He will give us what we need to get through our trials if we abide in Him. I do believe that sometimes He is refining us or trying to teach us something and that would be personal to each of us. My advice is to stay in His Word because that is how He speaks to us. We can't run around ignoring a relationship with Him and then call out when we are upset. We need to pray continuously, stay in His Word and stay in fellowship with other Christ followers. The good news is that this life isn't the end. We will have eternity with Him and that is where the struggles end! Keep growing in His grace and love~

As crazy as this sounds I've always been afraid of my potential.. I tend to do some things half assed instead of rising to the occasion. After college I was feeling lost and didn't know what to do in life. Started partying and drinking more. I have learned many lessons from then until now and now I am determined to be fearless because life is to short to not achieve hopes, dreams, and fulfill our deepest passions and desire. Since I have dedicated myself to a new mind frame and working to achieve a new life style I have truly been blessed despite everything I have overcome. I am so excited to see where the lord takes me! Thank you for the continuous inspiration! ❤️
Wow this video couldn't have come in a more appropriate time !...this week has been the worst yet...fake friends were revealed, debtors from all angles are knocking, the ex is acting up, everything looks dark but after this I now know that there's a lesson at the end of this. Thank u so much!
Maya, this year has been crazy for me. Everything has changed around me. Some times I don't even remember who I am and what I want in life. But you know what, we are growing everyday, and as long as we are working towards our goal, we will end up getting there! We need to keep our faith and keep on hoping because that's what set us apart from being simple animals. Believe it or not Maya, you were the one that opened my mind and made me believe I'm something bigger than who I was and I could do whatever I want if I put effort to it! I remember a couple of years ago when I was still in college watching your inspirational video and started thinking about life, about dreams and potentials. Currently I'm stuck on school. I'm scared that I may have allotted myself too much time away. I'm constantly fighting myself, knowing that I am greater than the choices I make, and I wind up having regret that could've been easily avoided. I know everything that's wrong with me I just need to exercise my will power. But I love you always Maya you're like a real life inspiration board both with your physical aesthetics and your constant flow of positive words. Thank you.
I try not to compare my struggles to anyone else's. I have a friend who always says he admires me for overcoming things that have happened to me in my life. He feels like he's been through nothing. He lost a parent and I can't imagine going through that. I admire how he and his family have handled that loss. I feel like we all have different struggles and no one's is worse and another's. Even those who seem like they have it so easy - maybe their trials have yet to come. You're right about the strength training - or at least I agree. Everything I have been through has informed who I am today. I have no doubt that there will be more lessons to learn.
