When Delhi metro was being built in 2000s, the same arguments were being made against it. People said it was too expensive for a country like India. Idiotic alternatives like local trains and EMUs were discussed. Today life without metro is unimaginable in Delhi. Metro is now coming up in many more cities in India. The first train like any other infra investment is going to be expensive but with economies of scale it will become much more cheaper. Such investments need to be planned years ahead not when the infrastructure is already creaking. Kudos to the government for planning this!

You have failed to take into consideration one major impact. Bullet trains the world over have taken away business from airlines. Consider this, aircraft uses kerosene as fuel, and flies very high up in the atmosphere, spreading high levels of pollution. Whereas a bullet train runs compulsoryly on electricity, and carries three times the no of passengers than an aircraft at any given time.a bullet train can stop and start in a matter of a minute, whereas an aircraft will take considerably more time to land, taxi into the airport, offload passengers, take on new passengers and take off again. So a bullet train is a better bet than airlines provided there is wide coverage in the whole country. The vande Bharat trains are a step in the right direction.
You forgot that Bullet trains will stop on multiple stations benefiting people of various locations. Also Airplanes get delayed due to foggy/ turbulent weather conditions. Airports are built out of the city, but Bullet train stations are built in the center of the city.

Remember one thing While constructing a building you must first make sure that the base of the building is made strong and firm if the base is weak no matter how luxurious and how many storeys you make it will fall one day. Indian government should first fix the existing issues with the Indian Railways, do not take feedback from Indians rather than from the foreigners who travel they can provide a better feedback of what is required and what not. Straight away making a bullet train in a slum country can only contribute to more losses and instability in the Indian railways, we already saw how trains were burnt in Bihar, lol just imagine if a bullet train was burnt. Appreciate your in-depth analysis. However, travel by bullet train will actually take the same time or even a bit less than flying. Agreed, the flying time between the two cities is 1h 15m, but you have to factor in the extra 2 hours before the flight for check-in and half an hour after the flight for baggage claim too. That makes flying a 4-hour affair, whereas you can simply go through a security gate and board the bullet train, and similarly exit the station at the destination. In addition, bullet train stations are in the middle of the city, well connected by public transport systems, whereas airports are usually far away from the city and it takes a lot of money to travel to and from the airport. Flights serve only the 2 big cities at the end, whereas bullet train shall serve the entire corridor with the same speed and convenience. All these aspects decisively tilt the scales in favour of the bullet train.

Yes , we more bullet train in India because it saves a lot of time and it’s super easy to get one place to other places on time it will be much better than flight because it can not fly on bad weather but a bullet train will stop due to weather conditions
