What I will say, is that United have a significant problem in the primary goalscoring positions. Last years goal difference was the worst this century, and I will remind Utd fans that in 1999 they had four strikers used in rotation. Oli, Teddy, Yorkie and Cole all had some time on the bench and typically did well from it (Ollie scored four goals against Forest, Teddy scored from the bench in the FA Cup Final, Cole scored in the final league game and Yorkie ended the season as the top goal scorer). Zirkzee, if he is signed, should be one of at least another two (good quality) strikers we need.

Spot on Dave. I had a look a week ago at Zirkzee, and you completely agree with me!! He will be great paired with Hojland and serving the ball to Hojland. They could end up a dynamic pair, Yorke and Cole. I fear if we sign Olise he won't feed Hojland, and Ivan Toney scores most of his goals in the 6yd box. We don't feed the 6yd box. So Zirkzee at the price is the perfect signing. I'll be excited if we get him.

I think him and hoijlund could link up brilliantly once they gets used to each other. Zirkzee as the false 9 with Hoijlund on the left. He regularly moves out to the left anyway so he would work out there, starting wide to bring the width then moving inside ready for the link up with zirkzee, and he can't do any worse out there than Rashford.

I mean… we need 2 strikers. Zirkzee is different, in that he’s going down deep and participate in the buildup. We’ve a lot of wingers that don’t create anything, so having a 9 that is more supportive, makes a lot of sense. It also gives a lot of tactical diversity and depth, because Højlund is more of a Targetman. He’s not massively expensive. Strikers usually are. I like it. If he was to be our main nr. 9 I would, but as a 2nd fiddle and he can challenge Rasmus, which we want. Overall a fine transfer. Not massive, but fine.

Zirkzee & Mctominay would complement each other... Bolonga's ferguson is really similar to Mctominay.I can see Mctominay pushing high in the oppo. box and zirkzee targeting the penalty area.

Really really like this new format of analysis where you include short clips to help illustrate. Really like what I’ve seen of Zirkzee. Reminds me of Firmino’s excellent False 9/supporting striker role. Also shades of Martial but doesn’t quite have the pace or lethal finishing. I don’t expect it to click straight away cause the squad isn’t used to playing proper football just yet but in 18 months onwards he could be something special.

The idea of a classic 4-4-2 is exciting but then we would need a strong defensive midfielder ti balance the team out

Garnacho will enjoy because I feel like he sometimes always drift to a free position in the box but no one finds him same as Hojlund the good thing about him if we are looking for a goal maybe around 85 mins We can have zirkzee and Hojlund With Bruno playing cm to find crosses for both of them zirkzee will then occupy the number 10 role this is going to be beautiful to watch ❤❤❤❤

Zirkzee would be a good signing at a good price. Would I prefer a more traditional striker who can get 20 premier league goals a season? Absolutely. Zirkzee would be used to get the attacking midfield involved in more goal situations. He will need to score more goals though if signed.

He is like attacking midfielder aka force 9 than traditional striker like Hudjulung i can see him and Bruno exchange and Hudjulung

I like the idea of Zirkzee at United because it gives us more options in the team shape behind the front lines as a 433 that could become a 4222 or 4-2-4 if we want to play with width, personally would like to see United go to a 3-5-2-1 like Switzerland at the Euros with Zirkzee and Bruno behind Hojlund. Plus height is lacking in the United squad.

I like this transfer, especially at the price. My one concern is I can't see himself and Hojlund starting together without sacrificing solidity in the midfield. The kind of transfer that would be a lovely bonus so long as centre back, left back and midfield come first.

Rashford did so well playing alongside Weghorst because the Dutchman would drop deep to hold up play and link up, dragging defenders with him and leaving space in behind, so I think Rashford in particular *could* benefit a lot from Zirkzee. But yeah I would also LOVE to see him play alongside Hojlund, because no one is feeding him enough 😕

What I get from the video is that Fernandes can drop and make space for Zerkzee to play with Højlund. Zerkzee is a great in a link-up, second striker role. My question is, where are we going to use Mount next season?

Watched him play few times last season..he can be frustrating sometimes like rashford and garnacho..trying to dribble and losing ball instead of making simple pass.we are going to add another player who loses ball a lot..he will surely be diffrent type of forward than rasmus

I feel like someone like him will improve Rashford alot and we can also play hojlund on left wing...our wingers are not creative and last season that was the big thing compared to season before. Where we had martial and another striker who both didn't score goals but were good at link up play
