Suns had 1 year together and had the worse center rotation in the playoffs along with a lack of size and defense on the team. Curry led a team? Hes been hid by elite defenses. Lebron has only won with amazing teams just like anybody else and him and Westbrook were a horrible fit.

Tatum will have 2 golds and is only 26, but I dont know if he'll want to play again after being benched like this

Completely idiotic. Kd bring the entire confidence of his teammates up when he steps on the floor and allows them to shine and gets his within the flow. He don’t have to give some corny speech. Watch the games. When kd is playing hard on both ends and screaming at guys or hitting waiters on the head or talking trash or pounding his teammates chest you can see all his teammates being inspired. Dwayne Wade could've said the same stuff to LeBron in 2011, "we won without you, you came to us, we don't need you." But you'd never get away with saying that to LeBron. You can get away with saying that to KD. KD is not a natural born leader. He's an introvert, he's a passive aggressive kinda guy, he had Twitter burners. I've seen it happen with my own two eyes. That's why Brooklyn fell apart, and why Phoenix has struggled to find a consistent identity post CP. Not everyone is cut out to be the leader. He's like a great session musician. He'll never be part of the band, he's not the guy who writes the songs, but you need him to come through and lay down something clean, tasteful, and in time, he's your guy. Just don't make him your front man. Kevin Durant is more Ronnie Wood than Keith Richards, more Harrison than Lennon or McCartney. He has an argument as the most talented guy there, but when you put him on stage with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, talent aside, there's something those two have that makes them magnetic. Ronnie Wood is legit the best guitar player on the rolling Stones, but when you think "the Stones," you think of Keef with a tele and a cigarette, and Mick doing his chicken dance. It's not a knock on his character. It's just the way it is. KD is not a lead singer, he's not a primary songwriter, he's a fantastic guitar player that is at his best when the majority of the attention and obligation to make major artistic and setlist decisions are held by others

He literally just led team USA in Tokyo it was the KD show. Led OKC to finals, in Brooklyn if someone just made a shot for him vs buck this leadership narrative would be far gone.

No one owes Embiid an apology. These things are fluid. Earlier in these Olympics Embiid played poorly and wasn’t really geling with the team that imo could’ve been explained by the limited time together. Colin made a parallel in realtime to his NBA career. Is was an interesting pov. Embiid later improved that’s it.

He was it was just his late game execution that drove me crazy. He made mistakes throughout the game but he would usually make up for them but the mistakes he made in those last 5 minutes if quarters especially the last 2 were so infuriating. If he had the composure of a Brunson or Rose he would have probably ended up in the same conversation as KD and Hakeem.

He had to join a championship team to win championships. I love KD and he's top 15 on my list but to act like KD's resume is better than Lebron is insane.

Probably best ever at mid range, mediocre at 3. Calling him a "good" not "great" shooter isn't THAT inaccurate. MJ doesn't have to be the best at everything.

Give 1 example of it being too much.

Very few defenders have been lock down. Kawai, Scottie, Dwight, Draymond, Hakeem, and a few more. KD is not in their tier but I truly believe he is underrated on defense and on par with guys like PG. KD has always been one of the most versatile defenders and while he can't lock down the top scorer he's always been a defensive player that people will go out of their way to not be close to him on the court. He has flaws on defense which is why he isn't in that elite category but for 90% of the league he's lock down and for that other 5 percent he's still really solid. It's literally just the top 5% of offensive players or big men that KD can't guard. That basically goes for everyone that isn't Kawai, Draymond, Hakeem, Scottie, Tim, Dwight. When has PG ever locked down a top offensive player? And he's still considered one of the best of his generation and some people will literally tell you he's a top 5-10 wing defender of all time.

KD has a track record of impacting defense positively. How do you think OKC was a top defense or how golden. State could be #2 with KD as a center/PF. Or how Brooklyn was a top 3 defense in 2023 and Claxton was being considered as a DPOY before KD left.. They dropped to 20-27 after KD left even though a supposed DPOY of year candidate and one of the best perimeter players joined him. Not only Bridges but 2 other defensive players joined the nets and they were still worse than when KD was on the team by a good margin. The suns improved on defense with KD in the few games they played. Last season the sun's were playing nurkic a pretty bad defender for his position and 4 SG who are all around average and the sun's were better on defense than then half the league.

Right but it's basketball. KD is taller and longer, and gun to my head I'd pick him to win 1v1

Goat status is about accolades. In terms of talent KD had the potential. Injuries stopped him from being top 5 but I think the reason he would never be #1 even if he was healthy is his mentality. He isn't scrappy enough and never wanted to take leadership
