Crazy right. Bad Management and a lack of strategy. I think everyone thought hes a golden goose until he believed it himself, freaking out, overtraining, switching divisions, being sick multiple times a year, while the time runs by and he keeps calling out the changing Champs on Twitter. And fighting one 3 round decision fight a year.
Clearly not. Love Khamzat as a fighter, but he’s not nearly active enough. He could have earned his title shot already but now he does not deserve it at all
@@beaualoevvyeah Colby actually fought ranked fighters before got Usman title shot, it took im 6 years ... after really close fight with Usman, he beat exchampion Woodley, so he got another titleshot and after that he schooled Masvidal who was about top5 so he got another ... can you see the difference? Please name one top15 middleweight ranked fighter Khamzat fought, thank you ...
No way. Theres no denying that Khamzat is one of the most dangerous fighters for round 1, but thats it. He gasses after just 1 round. He has that 1 round cardio like Conor, just the wrestling type. But make no mistake, he is lethal in the first round and probably one of the best wrestler and grappler in the UFC for that first round. He can go hard for max 1.5 rounds. His inactivity doesn't exactly help either.
Would like to see the rematch considering how close the fight was. I wouldn't say it was a robbery, but I personally think Strickland won. Khamzat should fight at least one real middleweight contender before he starts talking about title shots at 185.
The thing with him is when he burst on to the scene everyone was talking about him and he was very active as a fighter. Once he showed his skills in my opinion fighters who weren't at the very top (ranked 1-4) didn't really want to take him on as he was clearly in my opinion a contender for challenging the top guys but had to earn that spot. However how does he earn it if he isn't being given the fights. That compounded with missing weight against Diaz has I think made it difficult for the UFC to figure out what to do with him but he has shown that he is able to fight and beat very difficult opponents like G Burns and K Usman albeit they were close fights. I think he should be one fight away from a title shot but I don't think there's much news on what's happening with his recovery
Izzy doesn’t deserve a title shot off a loss. I’d run ddp vs Strickland back but Dana said no to that. Khamzat was promised two title fights already. He more than deserving.
As much as I like Khamzat, I have to say no. He can't stay off the injured/sick list to save his soul, yet still calls out everyone and wants his title shot.
I don't know if he deserves a title shot but look at this cases: -Islam got a title shot off unranked Bobby Green (catchweight fight). -Leon got a title shot off Nate Diaz (coming off losses) -Vera got a title shot off #12/#10 Pedro Munhoz And those are only in recent time. Fun fact: Khamzat beating #3 Burns was a higher rank win that any of Leon's wins before he got a title shot.

From a purely objective rankings based perspective no, but I'd be lying if I said that DDP vs Khamzat wasn't the fight I wanted most from an entertainment perspective. That being said, I think that Ironically probably a better argument for Khamzat getting a WW title shot next considering the people he's beat (Burns and Usman etc.) You can make an evidence based argument that he deserves a shot right now more than Belal or Shavkat etc. due to beating higher ranked WW's.
With all due respect to Khamzat, no. He needs to fight a 'proper' middleweight with a proper fight camp. Give him the winner of Costa v Whittaker then if he wins, give him the title shot.

I literally don't think there are welterweights or middleweights in the UFC with the ground game pedigree of Burns and Aliskerov so I think Chimaev thinks he can finish everyone else within two rounds if he doesn't get injured and he has so far and within those to rounds he is as fast and explosive as any of the other.
Dont deserve the title shot. but anything can happen in ufc. We should pity him or other fighters that have same situation as him . We must remember that each fighter and division in UFC have different story and situation. Some of them got lucky to get fast track to fight the title because of story and situation of his division. For example Alex peira. Some fighters haven't got any title fight even have 7 to 10 win streak. Top fighters of the division have " diva" attitude that don't want to fight top 15/10.. Even some Champ play diva attitude. Some division keep having rematch between the Champ and his rivalry. Some division got stuck because the champ suddenly got injured. Some contenders only want to fight the title, don't want to fight below him. So what other fighters that have same situation as Khamzat should do? . For Khamzat Chimaev situation, what should he do? Other fighters don't scare of him? Really? Why he or other fighters that have same situation as him don't get any fight if other fighters don't scare of them? He keeps call out the champ or contender because that what any fighters should do to keep relevant, to keep the hype. UFC not pure sport such as FIFA, or other sport organisation. UFC is sport plus business plus entrainment.. So we as fans of UFC / MMA must understand the situation, support the fighters, don't be too bias.
He was promised title shot and he should get it! Undefeated, no one else there in the top 10 is undefeated and they all fought each other. We are tired seeing the same guys fighting each other. Dont tell me that he is not able to get the needed and wanted paper view! Look at his followers, millions more than all the other fighters! Dont say we never know how it would have gone if it was a 5 rounds figh! It was not a 5 rounds fight, therefore this satement is a bullshit statement!
