Actually, some of the greatest workers of magick in myth were male. Odin, as you mentioned, but also Loki, Hermes, Pan, and basically any tricker or wild God/Hero often had great magick. It's been pretty balanced through time. Great video! Goblins rock!

Oh my word you crack me up. I need to ponder about which god or goddess brought me to your channel. I should ghost write an "Only a Penis can be a magick wand" book. Yes, the way the haters blab about the whole man/woman, woman/man witch stereotype has always baffled me; it's so hard to tune-out or give respectful time to the uneducated. Anyone in any religion who prays, performs magick. Anyone casting and reading runes, performs magick. Wortcunning is magick ( I love my herbs and flowers, tonics and tinctures) . I love your short description of magic in a few words. So spot on. "Men shouldn't be associated with stuff that is inherently 'feminine'". That's one core "value" of patriarchal education for boys in a nutshell. I feel lucky today that I never cared for any of that "you have to do this or that to become a 'real man'" schtick even when I was a kid. A similar dynamic exists to establish the traits traditionally associated with girls in the minds of young people who see themselves as feminine. And what you very comically have pointed out as cringe inducing in that book comes across as a slightly modernised version of that. I guess most followers of religions wouldn't believe how many of their religious leaders actually are witches. Everybody please be responsible in how you use the energy you can access. You owe it to yourself, for the sake of your own longterm stability. How is that for a warranty? ;-)

The broader points about gender seem right to me and, as usual, thoughtful and well-made. Not having heard of the book before starting to work through your videos, I can't comment much on the assigning of the book/pdf to the 'not worth reading' category, except to say it gives me pause... Are you just choosing not to read further, or are you confident that the book is no good for anybody who might chance upon your video? I guess the latter. It seems to be leaving a bit of a hostage to fortune, though: could it not be that you are reading the offensive, un-copy-edited & unreflected motivation part that was hastily tacked onto the beginning of a work that actually has something that you would, however grudgingly, concede was valuable to a substantial fraction of your audience? I guess I feel your not very nuanced condemnation of the book falls short of being quite convincing.
